- Video of Jon Anderson at The Apollo London 1st June 1981 performing as part of the "Fundamental Frolics" show in aid of MENCAP. (A little better quality than others I've seen).
We have got to be so thankful that God gave us Jon
SO Happy to been born in 73...And to.Live through the 80's and HEAR BEAUTIFUL MUSIC from Jon Anderson and Vangelis...This Music and Many Other Great Artists from that Era will Last FOREVER with Me...🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🤗
Almost 40 years on and the tears are still strong on hearing this x
Totally agree with you
What a voice so beautifully performed.
Jon Anderson THE VOICE. THE MASTER. FOREVER YES!!!🎤🎤🎤
I've wanted to hear this live but for some reason only just came across this.. expected little but was pleasantly surprised, right up until the bridge got destroyed & & veered off into whatever the hell that last part was! Some songs you have to play live with authenticity or not bother.. this is one of those.
Such a beautiful song.
Amo essa música muito tempo escuto até hoje .linda e jon Anderson e lenda viva

Fenomenal.

Apesar da imagem está fraca, mas a voz de Jon Anderson está perfeita.
Me sentindo suave e terna
💜🥰👏👏👏 continua linda
I remember trying to record this from the telly onto an audio cassette tape on the night it broadcast. Mixed results. Did we ever find out who the band were?
New Life Band that played on Song of Seven
@@YeswaveUK It doesn't look like any of the New Life Band though. John Giblin, Ronnie Leahy et al.
@@YeswaveUK I have just done a bit of instant research and the keyboard player could indeed be Ronnie Leahy, the guitarist might be Ian Bairnson, and we never get a clear look at the bassist or the drummer. Jon Anderson & the New Life Band was the second gig I ever went to, Sheffield City Hall December 1980. It would, of course, therefore make sense that it is The New Life Band. Still not sure who's playing the oboe though!
Have checked in with this beautiful arrangement of a classic for sometime now and in my opinion hand on heart it's far more rhythmic and melodic in a spiritual sense than the original masterpiece especially with the additional reed element however a bit too jazzy following 2.26 seconds
and goes a bit
"Pete Tong" lol
Thanks for sharing though found another "Precious Stone Amoungst Stones"

Tremenda canción¡¡
PARABENS MUSICA OTIMA .
Vangelis veio a complementar a sintonia e eternizar o som
Incrível a sensação de ouvir essa voz angelical.
Me sinto pairando nas nuvens, e os sintetizadores que não estão nesta versão tb são sensacionais.
Tem uma versão no RUclips com pinturas do Leonid afremov.
Coisa linda.
Meus 7 anos em 80.

Jon. Son. Sun viewer...
An oboist! I wonder if he played for David Essex too.
This theme is very good, but without Vangelis it is not the same ... Vangelis and its keyboard gives this theme a heavenly touch.
Definitely it's lost its mystical and spiritual element and in my opinion that's the true essence and intention of this classic gem
However I do like it as it's a different arrangement especially with the reed ain't that fussed on last minute though too "Jazzy" and loses its meaning in my opinion
Gonna defiantly add to my collection lol
Love Peace and Unity 💚
Who ist Vangelis ....
Sem Vangelis fica difícil
Anderson l faltaba vangelis genio el que sabe sabe
what album is this from?
Short stories, by Jon and Vangelis 🎶😊
ES PATRICK MORAZ EN EL PIANO?
No
No. Patrick Moraz estaba entonces en los Moody Blues.
What a pile of shit compared to the original Vangelis original. Even for a live version with Jon it struggles. It’s either Jon and ACTUAL Vangelis that it will ever sound great.
Maybe Vangelis wasn't available? Just a thought. It was for a fundraising event as well so I wouldn't get too upset about it.
@@belch1889 Agree with Luke to be fair
Does sound like a pile of Shit without Vangelis on keyboards ;(
Just sayin..................................
@@belch1889 Naturally. And even in the unlikely case Vangelis was in the audience and was called on stage for this (and complied), he would need his whole array of keyboards to reproduce the song as we know it from the record.
Still a pile of shit. It will ALWAYS be. Vangelis is dead. What a loss for Anderson.
