Omg that looks amazing! Thank you for sharing. Like many others, I wish you would have omitted the music and had your mama explained what she was adding, how much she was adding. Otherwise just amazing!
You can find many versions of this recipe online and it is actually a very easy dish to make that is traditional for Christmas Eve for Salvadorans, and with Thanksgiving leftovers for Salvadoran-American families. You do not have to cook the Turkey in the sauce, instead you can cook the Turkey/turkey breast the night before and pull it apart in large pieces and add it to simmer in the sauce. The accompanying vegetables are cucumber, radish (but really judge that based on where you live - radishes grown in El Salvador taste nothing like the strong bitter ones we have in the northern US), sliced tomato, watercress, plenty of the red sauce, and Salvadoran Crema. Now, depending on where you live finding Salvadoran style crema can be difficult, and even in cities with large Salvadoran populations the taste can differ brand to brand - do NOT substitute Mexican crema it is not the same. If you cannot find Salvadoran style creme I would go with 3 parts sour cream to 1 part mayonnaise, or just use sour cream alone. Salvadoran crema had a taste much closer to sour cream than mayonnaise. The reloj can be hard to find as well - if you cannot find it you can recreate the spices with bay leaves, garlic, pumpkin seeds, and annatto. This really is a wonderful dish that is easy to make, is a great dish for leftover turkey, and is very traditional yet you will find many variations. Fun fact - turkey is called both pavo in El Salvador and also chompipe which is a much older word.
Some recipes call for a cup of white wine. Enough liquid to braise the bird. Relajo seasoning can include Toasted sesame seed Toasted Pumpkin seed Roast peanuts (unsalted) Dried chiles like Pasillas Thyme
Esto no es receta de 100 años que no habían latas de tomate o a lo menos no así. Y mi madre asa el relajo y los tomates, cebolla y ajo y cebolla. Todo va asado para que el chume lleve un sabor esquisito
This recipe is one of the best on RUclips

me llega la cancion. pero pongan la receta en la descripcion . porfas
did you add water to the tomato/onion/pepper/garlic blend? If so, how much?
Add just enough water for a sauce like texture - you want something the turkey can simmer in on low during the evening
Some recipes call for a cup of white wine.
Enough liquid to braise the bird.
Relajo seasoning can include
Toasted sesame seed
Toasted Pumpkin seed
Roast peanuts (unsalted)
Dried chiles like Pasillas
Thyme
Is your recipe printed? if so, where can I find it?
You can Google this recipe and find many variations - look for either panes con pavo, or panes con chompipe (Salvadoran word for pavo)
