This is the kind of music I grew up around in Alabama. It’s so weird to hear a drag queen succeed in this genre. Trixie's voice is 100% folk and it’s amazing.
I completely agree! How different from any other singer from my youth? Zero difference! As a visually impaired person, in some ways I know I don’t appreciate the performance the same way, but as a music professional, this is first rate.
It hurts my heart to hear her voice slightly break when she starts tearing up and knowing why she did, but she just keeps on truckin through it. I really respect her.

Retrospectively, in the Moving Party documentary, this peformance seems to be around the same time Katya started bombarding her with texts in a drug-induced psychosis, telling her that she's gonna kill her career, that she sucks on All Stars 3 and that she hates her.
in her documentary, moving parts (on netflix), this is around the time katya was going to rehab and sending her hateful texts unfortunately :/. the documentary explains it a lot better than i just did but, i suggest watching it. i had it on loop for 5 straight days it was so inspiring and moving LOL!
