It was confirmed that if you Beast Within a minion that CAN attack and hasn't yet, it WILL be able to attack, example. You have a Savanah Highmane you played last turn, you beast within, it randomly attacks a minion, you can then attack face for 7 damage (if it lived)

I don't think Spirit of the Rhino should work with Doctor Boom for the same reason that Tundra Rhino doesn't work with Warsong Commander. Boom gives your minions Rush, but they don't become "Rush" minions because they only gain an enchantment, not the keyword. If that's not how it works, then that's just a really stupid inconsistency and they should reeeeaaaally go back and change Warsong Commander.
It all depends on how they code it. Noting in HS is consistent. With other keywords, it wouldn't work, but "Rush" seems to be the exception to he rule for some reason. I would personally love for it to work this way with everything.

Personally i would not have rated Tree speaker so low. yea, its not great right now but you don't need to have major treant synergistic deck to make it work. if you have a deck that even spawns a few of them you only need one treant spawned to get your value. 5 mana 4/4 give a minion +3+3 sounds pretty decent. yea current meta wise it wont make a dent but it does have some support. i would have rated it 2 stars. not a major difference but it is not quite full crap tier.
I think they underestimate how quickly you can fill tge board with many treants. Turn 3 2 2/2s. Turn 4 Coin 5 mana 4/4 give your other minions +3/3. Almost turn 4 3 5/5s
You dont really need to be playing the whole treant package, that 3 mana spell that spawns 2 treants and that 4 mana one that gives your minions deathrattle summon a treant and this would be enough in a token druid. Sleeper op, maby not this expansion, but this will see play eventually.
We already have a 5-mana 4/4 "Give a minion +3/+3." It's called Anubisath Sentinel. No one ever played that card. Sure Treespeaker has it as a Battlecry instead, but it's also limited to treants which means the card spends a lot of time as a 5-mana 4/4 "Do absolutely nothing." People are also using Landscaping as an argument for this card. Y'know, that spell no one used even with all the treant synergy in The Boomsday Project. This card stands absolutely no chance of changing that. It's situational, it's slow, and it won't see any play whatsoever.

The stats for zereks cloning gallery priest say that priests keep Ziliax almost all the time in their opening hand because they have no reliable board control until turn 7 versus aggro/midrange decks. Mass Hysteria is a direct buff for this deck.
@kripparrian I think you're underestimating the Hunter spell just slightly. It can be used to get an extra attack per turn out of any beast, particularly large ones with survivability. Imagine you use Kathrena to recruit a devilsaur. You smash face with the devilsaur, cast the 1-Mana spell on it, and it likely clears a minion. Could be good if it will fit in a deck.
I would run a 1 off Treespeaker in my Token Druid deck. Trade off your 1/1 wisps that spawn treants, drop Treespeaker get 6 5/5 minions, maybe soul of the forest them again etc.
The Beast Within is for Zul'jin Spell Hunter, Kripp! You'll have beasts from spells, and this is a friendly-only buff spell. It's better than 1-star!!!!!!!!!
So hunter has gneraly pretty good removal spells for Zul'jin to cast like Deadly Shot, Multi-shot or Crushing Walls also recasting all the secrets you've played seems quite powerfull in my opinion. He can be treated as a pretty powerfull boardclear that also make your hero power into a more flexible one.
3:30 Yeah, but concider this: almost all of the Hunter's spells are shots, arrows and Beast summoning. I think Zul'Jin has a nice theme of throwing all of these kinds of things on the Rastakhan's Arena
Is mass hysteria not, like, a phase? Like you play it, everything attacks each other, but they stay alive until the spell effect ends? That would allow all minions to hit something.
Can't wait for kripp to be in 'HS pros were wrong about Rastakhan's Rumble cards' for the treespeaker review. That card has insane synergy with pre-existing cards.
The card that sets mana crystals to 5 will be played more like lotheb. To stop your opponents from clearing your aggro board or to delay a combo play. It can also really hurt ultimate infestation turns. It’s a great card
I kinda like the beast within. It allows you to attack with your minion and then use the beast within to attack again. So you could either go face and then kill a minion, or you could potentially kill two minions with 1 minion. Seems like a quite neat card.
I’m honestly really excited for Warrior. I hope the days of tempo warrior decks will come (dragon, mech/rush), and boring full control armor decks will be gone. I find tempo warrior very intriguing with all of the tools available to the class from all the sets, especially Rastakhan’s. Great review once again!
About the Beast Within, I think you miss the potential of the card. I think if you already attacked with your minion, it will still attack a random enemy minion. So basicaly, if you hesitate to trade your (idealy) big minion or go face, you can now do both. you go face, then buff your card and it will trade an enemy minion. It's a nice way to add face damages while still controling the board (which hunter will need with a beast archetype, and not direct damages. Like ZulJin, which is OP to summon stuff, not to run kill command and stuff).
Zul'Jin is thematically cool because you have to think about what you're actually doing when you cast it. He goes crazy like a troll berseker throwing out tons of deadly shots, calling animal companions, activating crushing walls etc. It's an ORAORAORAORAORA esque effect
The Beast Within can be comboed with Cave Hydra or Bloat Bat. It can also be comboed with that 1/3 Rush Lifesteal minion. Or combo it with Charged Devilsaur to remove two big minions. I think there are a lot of applications go this card, rating it one star is definitely a mistake
Best Zul'jin deck is spell hunter that focuses on secrets. Freezing trap, explosive trap, wandering monster, and spellstone are great with him. Since he's not a monster you can also run to my side.
Treespeaker is actually anti-support for treants. It should've had a Poison Seeds-esque effect where it would destroy the treants and then replace them with the ancients. But because the treants get transformed, you can't even reduce the cost of your Mulchmunchers with this card.
For beast within... turn 1 raptor,turn two attack face then beast within to kill the opponent’s 1/3 then play another dude. Go face with highmane or eat a 4/4, then beast within... Use it to kill a stealth minion... like the stealth for a turn cycle... Worth at least 2stars...
What about using Mojomaster Zihi in a control deck? It does a pretty good job at retaining the ramp of druid and is extremely good against combo decks, were traditional control decks are not fairing too well. Most of the actual combos require 10 mana to work, so you can actualy delay them by 4 turns, which is amazing, especially vs mecha'thun decks which are at fatigue at that point. Yes, it is a dead card vs aggro.
It's only a good counter against druid if u manage to draw it early. Playing it after both players reach 10 Mana is not so useful unless ur waiting for some card and want to postpone opponent's combo . Not to mention the ramp still available for druid which means they are gonna reach 10 Mana in the next two turns at the most.
Zul'jin can be used to get some extra reach in the late game, something you might be lacking as a hunter when you've been making beasts all the time. Also: If you're Spell hunter, you're going to get like 20 spells with this if you get it in that late-game scenario.
Mojomaster also will have board presence. So even though your opponent will have 6 mana you still forced them to deal with a 5/5 minion, which could cut into their end game combo etc to remove mojo.
The Beast Within is kinda like giving a minion Rush, or Windfury if it's already attacked, which could be good if you're going for a control Hunter. It also has synergy with Zul'jin.
People overlook Zul'Jin's battlecry. In a deck built specifically for him, it's very strong. Let's not forget boomzooka. Yeah, that card sucked, but now, with revenge of the wild (or whatever it's name is), on turn 10 you can make some good trades and have your big beasts come back. With Zul'Jin, you get to do that AGAIN. You take 2-3 big beasts from your deck, they attack, they die, then you resummon them with that 2 mana spell.
Zihi wild shudderwock mill combo. Your shudderwock will cost 9 at first but after will cost 1, so combo is enabled even when set to 5, so you don’t concede any advantage and shut down your opponent’s turns
Thank you Kripp!!! I was watching omnislash and they didn’t understand the warrior rush spirit. It’s literally the best spirit because it’s the only one that has an instant board effect that it cheap to play. All the other spirits must work next turn and thus have stealth or needs support. Can play early and snowball the shit out of something, or late game even with Dr Boom and have hella value.
I think mass hysteria is gonna activate all at the same time allowing for minions to attack even with negative health. Like even when a minion has been killed by something it will stay on the board and still attack until
regarding Mass hysteria: My bet is that will work exactly like one of the monsterhunt(or dungeon?) bosses heropower. If that's the case - each minion will still attack even when he's basically dead already. Which is a biiiig time difference maker IMHO
Could "The Beast Within" get around the Minion sleeping on the turn played? This would imply it kind of gets rush but an uncontrollable rush? I doubt it but it's worded a little odd.

I think Kripp generally overrated his cards. This card might be 2 stars. I'm not sure what it accomplishes. Is it for a midrange hunter fighting against agro? It might find a home there. Is aggro hunter going to try and run card draw to support having such a low value card? Is the meta such cancer agro hunter needs it to win board? Well that might be true and aggro hunter prolly won't be good enough anyway. Would quest hunter run it? I know they don't want to die but... I think it would make there deck inconsistent. Spell Hunter? I guess but I think it would compound problems of cards not being in the right place at the right time. To me this card simple does too little too fit in anywhere. That's why I think it's worth 1 star like Kripp. I think if you could show me a deck where it's a legitimate tech choice I'll give it 2.

Zini (set mana crystals to 5) goes into troll Shudderwocks. Mass Hysteria is a collectable card version of one of the bosses' heropower in Dungeon Run. It cost three mana there.
Unless we see some crazy Overkill comboes… like Katherina into ondasta into King Crush into this for another big beast ; 9 Mana for possible 4 6+/+6 minions on board sounds like a powerful game finisher with charged Devilsaurs or other new beasts. Havent seen the Lynx yet
A beast within could be really strong. You could send something like king crush into your opponents face, play ABW, and then have him clear a large minion.
Mass Hysteria really seems like one of those really cool board clears, sort of like how Defile works, but a bit more RNG to it, which in this case is fine IMO. Personally love the design for it.
The mechanic for mass hysteria already is in the game, it's the hero power of one of the bosses in monster Hunt. I know blizzard is always the most consistent, but there's hardly any chance it'll work differently
Druid: At this point, it is abundantly clear that this set is just a "setup" for druid in the future. Good to see blizz is aware of the powerlevel of druid: The currently strong stuff around in druid will just oust all other druids from play, except we find an aggro variant - which isn't the most exciting, tbh. So Blizz thought: "We dont need any more druids. Lets just throw concepts out there." Thats why we have a treant card, hero attack cards(Which COULD be good - the payoff cards are there and are good, but the enablers are sorely lacking) and some unusual take on beast-synergy(HS sucks at doing tribals, so they try to do something whacky with them). I mean, splitting the small pool of druid cards per expansion into so many "archetypes", all of which are either completely unsupported or just dead as of this point, very clearly conveys "they wont work". But Id look forward to playing with those cards in the future.
In Odd Warrior, you can just play Rhino+Boomship to instantly swing the board and win the game. Even if all you pull is 5 Drops, it's still nuts. Baku isn't even dead weight in a deck that does this. We're definitely going to see Odd Dragon Boomship Warrior thanks to this card. No wonder they changed Voone from 5 Mana to 4. At least now Odd Warrior has to actually put a bunch of clunky 9 Cost Dragons in their deck, instead of just making copies of them. (In a non-Odd deck)You can also run Rhino+Oondasta to pull the Loa, who will also have Immune and Rush, and can buff a Rush Minion in your hand that will also have Immune when you play it next turn. Darius Crowley is pretty scary when he's a 9/9 with Immune.
Use mojomaster when your shamam opponent overloaded = almost an extra turn And if them shamam played spells last turn to get them back with the frog legendary, you play mojomaster and stop their combo. Mojomaster is the ultimate counter to the frog! ;)
I was so disappointed with Zul’jin. I wish the hero power were something along the lines of “Discover a spell you cast this game, cast with random targets.” Would be so much more fun, and so much more worth getting to 10 mana
The beast within - you can go face, THEN trade into a minion. Might be pretty strong for hunter. You could also trade then trade again. To me this card seems strong!
Zihi is probably an auto include in tons of decks because of the huge tempo swing you get because you use it on turn 10 and get a 5/5 and you use 4 mana to do whatever assuming its a 4/4 with no text your turn is much stronger than anything your opponent can do for 6 mana
I think treespeaker is actually worth 3 stars. use spells like force of nature into that card, you now have three 5/5s and a 4/4 on the board for 10 mana (19/19 stats for 10). Or you play the first treespeaker, make trades with the treants and then play another treespeaker, you just healed them all.
So I watched every episode of your Card Reveal and you DO an amazing job. I am way to bad in Hearthstone to criticise what you say about the new coming cards. But in this Video it is the first time I dont go with you with the Hunter card "The Beast within". Because in other Cardgames (y I know, we speak about HS and I really suck in HS ^^) Cards like this are good. That you can choose to fight one of your minions AGAIN can be such a good way to get board control. And with the +1+1 you can even boost this effect a little bit. A little bit can be enough. Well thats my opinion ^^ I know that I am maybe extremly wrong and I need to lose some times to understand why some cards are bad. But I am looking forward to play this new expansion, the Hunter and Shaman Cards are really amazing. I hope to see you there. Keep up with your spirit!

beast within is a really nice card if you ask me (reminds me of Green spells in mtg). You can attack a second time with a beast (not sure how it will work, maybe you need to cast it after the initial attack and maybe you can cast it before as in it does not count as an attack). While it may be somewhat stupid since its rng , but I guess HS doesn't allow selecting 2 minions for a spell, small indie company btw. But in general it seems like an interesting card and a good card in arena, since it allows you to : give a minion rush (although rngbased attack) or winmore (clear 2 minions)
The Beast Within = maybe you are playing a minion without rush or charge and u have to kill the enemy minion (which could kill you) because you don’t have any taunt. So you give it +1/+1 and it attacks immediately ! That sounds good doesn’t it?
I know it isn't possible. But one day (hopefully) there will be a Tavern brawl where you are allowed to use multiple class cards. Then the dream of Time Warp + Krag'wa the Frog + Shadowstep will become true.
Kripp on A Beast Within, how does the interaction work for the attack phase, pretend crush is on the board and they go face, ignoring an enemy minion. If after attacking face they use the spell will it still attack the minion? If so how is that a 1 star card? 2 attacks per turn, 3 attacks per turn? combo that with zuljin later for more extra attacks, feels broken imo.
Thinking about Krag'wa, a lot of shamans burst spells have overload. So, I don't think this is going to be a card where you burn your opponent to 15 on turn 5 then drop this on 6 and burn them again on 7. It will still have potential and a lot of value (like a lot a lot), and if played in the late game could still be used to burn your opponent down but might not be as meta defining as we're thinking

Chillaxorita I’ve seen the 2 mana 2/2 axe, that buffs only rush minions, buff up a non-rush mech before (that was given Rush by Dr Boom)
If you buff your minion with the warrior spell that gives rush, the 2/2 axe's deathrattle will actually buff the minion even though it's a spell buff.
I was thinking this same thing. Similar to how N'Zoth only summons minions with intrinsic deathrattle and not minions that gained the ability later.

It's like quartermaster from gvg, but quartermaster was better and there was muster for battle, and even in such circumstances it wasn't playable(

Good point! You'll summon wolves and make them attack instantly, which is good counter aoe.

The Beast Within can be comboed with Cave Hydra or Bloat Bat. It can also be comboed with that 1/3 Rush Lifesteal minion. Or combo it with Charged Devilsaur to remove two big minions. I think there are a lot of applications go this card, rating it one star is definitely a mistake

Best Zul'jin deck is spell hunter that focuses on secrets. Freezing trap, explosive trap, wandering monster, and spellstone are great with him. Since he's not a monster you can also run to my side.
Treespeaker is actually anti-support for treants. It should've had a Poison Seeds-esque effect where it would destroy the treants and then replace them with the ancients. But because the treants get transformed, you can't even reduce the cost of your Mulchmunchers with this card.
For beast within... turn 1 raptor,turn two attack face then beast within to kill the opponent’s 1/3 then play another dude.
Go face with highmane or eat a 4/4, then beast within...
Use it to kill a stealth minion... like the stealth for a turn cycle...

What about using Mojomaster Zihi in a control deck? It does a pretty good job at retaining the ramp of druid and is extremely good against combo decks, were traditional control decks are not fairing too well. Most of the actual combos require 10 mana to work, so you can actualy delay them by 4 turns, which is amazing, especially vs mecha'thun decks which are at fatigue at that point. Yes, it is a dead card vs aggro.
It's only a good counter against druid if u manage to draw it early. Playing it after both players reach 10 Mana is not so useful unless ur waiting for some card and want to postpone opponent's combo . Not to mention the ramp still available for druid which means they are gonna reach 10 Mana in the next two turns at the most.
Zul'jin can be used to get some extra reach in the late game, something you might be lacking as a hunter when you've been making beasts all the time. Also: If you're Spell hunter, you're going to get like 20 spells with this if you get it in that late-game scenario.
Mojomaster also will have board presence. So even though your opponent will have 6 mana you still forced them to deal with a 5/5 minion, which could cut into their end game combo etc to remove mojo.
The Beast Within is kinda like giving a minion Rush, or Windfury if it's already attacked, which could be good if you're going for a control Hunter. It also has synergy with Zul'jin.
People overlook Zul'Jin's battlecry. In a deck built specifically for him, it's very strong. Let's not forget boomzooka. Yeah, that card sucked, but now, with revenge of the wild (or whatever it's name is), on turn 10 you can make some good trades and have your big beasts come back. With Zul'Jin, you get to do that AGAIN. You take 2-3 big beasts from your deck, they attack, they die, then you resummon them with that 2 mana spell.
Zihi wild shudderwock mill combo. Your shudderwock will cost 9 at first but after will cost 1, so combo is enabled even when set to 5, so you don’t concede any advantage and shut down your opponent’s turns
Thank you Kripp!!! I was watching omnislash and they didn’t understand the warrior rush spirit. It’s literally the best spirit because it’s the only one that has an instant board effect that it cheap to play. All the other spirits must work next turn and thus have stealth or needs support. Can play early and snowball the shit out of something, or late game even with Dr Boom and have hella value.
I think mass hysteria is gonna activate all at the same time allowing for minions to attack even with negative health. Like even when a minion has been killed by something it will stay on the board and still attack until
regarding Mass hysteria: My bet is that will work exactly like one of the monsterhunt(or dungeon?) bosses heropower. If that's the case - each minion will still attack even when he's basically dead already. Which is a biiiig time difference maker IMHO

Could "The Beast Within" get around the Minion sleeping on the turn played? This would imply it kind of gets rush but an uncontrollable rush? I doubt it but it's worded a little odd.

In that case, I have no idea how the card is 1 star? Yeah, it's still probably not great and has fringe use cases but it's definitely not 1 star if it does work that way.

I think Kripp generally overrated his cards. This card might be 2 stars. I'm not sure what it accomplishes. Is it for a midrange hunter fighting against agro? It might find a home there. Is aggro hunter going to try and run card draw to support having such a low value card? Is the meta such cancer agro hunter needs it to win board? Well that might be true and aggro hunter prolly won't be good enough anyway. Would quest hunter run it? I know they don't want to die but... I think it would make there deck inconsistent. Spell Hunter? I guess but I think it would compound problems of cards not being in the right place at the right time. To me this card simple does too little too fit in anywhere. That's why I think it's worth 1 star like Kripp. I think if you could show me a deck where it's a legitimate tech choice I'll give it 2.

Mass Hysteria is a collectable card version of one of the bosses' heropower in Dungeon Run. It cost three mana there.
Unless we see some crazy Overkill comboes… like Katherina into ondasta into King Crush into this for another big beast ; 9 Mana for possible 4 6+/+6 minions on board sounds like a powerful game finisher with charged Devilsaurs or other new beasts. Havent seen the Lynx yet
please confirm Boom works with Spirit Rhino as Nzoth does not work with minions that are given deathrattle through battlecries and effects
A beast within could be really strong. You could send something like king crush into your opponents face, play ABW, and then have him clear a large minion.

Mass Hysteria really seems like one of those really cool board clears, sort of like how Defile works, but a bit more RNG to it, which in this case is fine IMO. Personally love the design for it.
The beast within is supposedly hunters answer to the spirits, as it can attack stealth.
That druid card, plus force of nature, means 10 mana 19/19 worth of stats. A fully upgraded warrior spellstone plus a 4/4

The mechanic for mass hysteria already is in the game, it's the hero power of one of the bosses in monster Hunt. I know blizzard is always the most consistent, but there's hardly any chance it'll work differently

At this point, it is abundantly clear that this set is just a "setup" for druid in the future. Good to see blizz is aware of the powerlevel of druid: The currently strong stuff around in druid will just oust all other druids from play, except we find an aggro variant - which isn't the most exciting, tbh.
So Blizz thought: "We dont need any more druids. Lets just throw concepts out there."
Thats why we have a treant card, hero attack cards(Which COULD be good - the payoff cards are there and are good, but the enablers are sorely lacking) and some unusual take on beast-synergy(HS sucks at doing tribals, so they try to do something whacky with them).
I mean, splitting the small pool of druid cards per expansion into so many "archetypes", all of which are either completely unsupported or just dead as of this point, very clearly conveys "they wont work". But Id look forward to playing with those cards in the future.

In Odd Warrior, you can just play Rhino+Boomship to instantly swing the board and win the game. Even if all you pull is 5 Drops, it's still nuts. Baku isn't even dead weight in a deck that does this. We're definitely going to see Odd Dragon Boomship Warrior thanks to this card. No wonder they changed Voone from 5 Mana to 4. At least now Odd Warrior has to actually put a bunch of clunky 9 Cost Dragons in their deck, instead of just making copies of them.
(In a non-Odd deck)You can also run Rhino+Oondasta to pull the Loa, who will also have Immune and Rush, and can buff a Rush Minion in your hand that will also have Immune when you play it next turn. Darius Crowley is pretty scary when he's a 9/9 with Immune.
The beast within essentially gives rush or windfury for one turn which makes it quite a bit better if you look at it like that

*the beast within* basically gives a minion rush, but forces it to attack a random target. There are Situations when the immediate attack is useful.
Use mojomaster when your shamam opponent overloaded = almost an extra turn
And if them shamam played spells last turn to get them back with the frog legendary, you play mojomaster and stop their combo.
Mojomaster is the ultimate counter to the frog!

The beast within - you can go face, THEN trade into a minion. Might be pretty strong for hunter. You could also trade then trade again. To me this card seems strong!

Zihi is probably an auto include in tons of decks because of the huge tempo swing you get because you use it on turn 10 and get a 5/5 and you use 4 mana to do whatever assuming its a 4/4 with no text your turn is much stronger than anything your opponent can do for 6 mana
I think treespeaker is actually worth 3 stars. use spells like force of nature into that card, you now have three 5/5s and a 4/4 on the board for 10 mana (19/19 stats for 10). Or you play the first treespeaker, make trades with the treants and then play another treespeaker, you just healed them all.
So I watched every episode of your Card Reveal and you DO an amazing job. I am way to bad in Hearthstone to criticise what you say about the new coming cards. But in this Video it is the first time I dont go with you with the Hunter card "The Beast within". Because in other Cardgames (y I know, we speak about HS and I really suck in HS ^^) Cards like this are good. That you can choose to fight one of your minions AGAIN can be such a good way to get board control. And with the +1+1 you can even boost this effect a little bit. A little bit can be enough.
Well thats my opinion ^^ I know that I am maybe extremly wrong and I need to lose some times to understand why some cards are bad. But I am looking forward to play this new expansion, the Hunter and Shaman Cards are really amazing. I hope to see you there. Keep up with your spirit!

beast within is a really nice card if you ask me (reminds me of Green spells in mtg). You can attack a second time with a beast (not sure how it will work, maybe you need to cast it after the initial attack and maybe you can cast it before as in it does not count as an attack). While it may be somewhat stupid since its rng , but I guess HS doesn't allow selecting 2 minions for a spell, small indie company btw.
But in general it seems like an interesting card and a good card in arena, since it allows you to : give a minion rush (although rngbased attack) or winmore (clear 2 minions)
The Beast Within = maybe you are playing a minion without rush or charge and u have to kill the enemy minion (which could kill you) because you don’t have any taunt. So you give it +1/+1 and it attacks immediately !

Kripp on A Beast Within, how does the interaction work for the attack phase, pretend crush is on the board and they go face, ignoring an enemy minion. If after attacking face they use the spell will it still attack the minion? If so how is that a 1 star card? 2 attacks per turn, 3 attacks per turn? combo that with zuljin later for more extra attacks, feels broken imo.
I think "the Beast within" could be potentially pretty good with "oondasta", but im not to sure if it will work out

Thinking about Krag'wa, a lot of shamans burst spells have overload. So, I don't think this is going to be a card where you burn your opponent to 15 on turn 5 then drop this on 6 and burn them again on 7. It will still have potential and a lot of value (like a lot a lot), and if played in the late game could still be used to burn your opponent down but might not be as meta defining as we're thinking
