Very nice video of the good ole days. Now you can pretty much guess what you're going to see. GEVO after GEVO. I never thought seeing an EMD leading nowadays would be a rare sight.
The B&O sure liked the GP30 classy locoo
I remember the day we went to the yard in Cumberland. My dad picked up his severence papers as the system was closing. Somber moment
Loved old CSX
Miss the 80's era railroading, great video thank you for sharing
Back in this Era. Foreign and leaser power was so common, you almost didn't bother to shoot trains. But you were glad you did.
Yes. you are a great follow. Video recording of the 80s. It is very cool. My applause to you.
I did enjoy watching this video. Thank you Jack.
My dad used to run the Seaboard System piggyback with those B36-7's before it became CSXT who he retired from.
Always liked those B36's. Most of the crews did as well. Thanks for watching.
Great job! I was 18 then and ran between Sandpatch and Horseshoe Curve whenever I could, great time and memories
Thanks Robert, glad you enjoyed it. It use to be so neat up there at Sand Patch. Once they took out the code lines, it didn't take long for it to grow in.
Lots of good looking GP30s.
A salute at 8:57 that was nice.
I have a tote of VHS from railfanning early 1990s ACCA yard in Richmond, VA. Quite a mixed bag. They yard switched with a chessie SD35 too, until early 2000s
Though I grew up along the SCL part of the CSX, this takes me back. In the late 1980's, it seemed that there were more Chessie painted engines than Seaboard System, Family Lines, Seaboard Coast or L&N units on CSX trains in Georgia. I miss the variety and wish I had taken more pictures. It's easy to take something for granted.
Sure do miss those days. Then when they are gone, you kick yourself for not going out and doing more. Thanks for watching Eric.

Awesome video love the old chessie Jack!!!
Some old SD40s and lots of 3000hp GP40s and GP40-2s. And, old hi-cubed boxcars never seen anymore, on that train that picked them up in the yard mentioned here. Chessie had one of the all-time great paint schemes of The Modern Era.
All ways neat stuff to see leading, and freight cars in the train. Probably the cars picked up at Connellsville, were auto parts and supplies for the VW plant at New Stanton. The VW Rabbit was in production at that time, but the plant was closing real soon.
Great video!
More gold!
my congratulations friend Jack ... your videos are fantastic ... i love the old paintings from the USA ... i'm not sure which video is the best ... after all i like it ... there is always one better than the other. ..and I LOVE EMD non turbo locomotives very much
Outstanding video, really enjoyed this
This is quality content!
Excellent video Jack! I thoroughly enjoyed this video!
Awesome
Lot of railroads in PA
Awesome !!
Looks like a good bit of Chessie power on here.
I'm actually modeling b&o in the 80s
Boy did they ever go fast trains in 1980 faster them today's train
Baby CSXT
Note how clean the rail cars were. No graffiti sprayed all over them!
They sure were clean. Nice to see compared to the junk thats being pulled around today. Thanks for watching.
God, that S5T... They dom't build 'em like that anymore. Edit: this was when the EMDs were plentiful and the GEs actually sounded mean af... I wish I couldve been alive then.
csx seems to always use the SD MODEL TRAINS .
