I found the Docs in 2022. These men saved my life! I started having cardiac arrhythmia issues. They had cardiologist Dr. Mike Herrefnan on to talk about congestive heart failure. All 3 of these docs practice in Oakville Ontario.

I stop watching TV commercials, I mostly watch stuff I have recorded and fast forward all fast food(any food) commercials and when watching something live I will mute and get up and walk around. This has helped me tremendously to stay out of fast food places,.. I don’t mind packing lunches or waiting till I get home to eat any more.

There's only one way Drs..... Just don't go inside those unhealthy places.... Once you stop you will see a big change. All of them temp you. Even the coffee places. If I don't have a healthy bar or fruit handy I stop in a convenient store. Some have bananas, apples or a small package. I was thinking of Subway but..... I don't go there much. I've got to laugh.... I'm terribly sick & on a Brat Diet... this video turned my stomach BUT you Drs. are the best reaching out to people on great videos!!!! The best to you and always remember "We are what we eat." For over 15 years I worked as a telecommunications tech and very often ate at fast food restaurants. Sometimes I would make a lunch (rarely). Now retired and sometimes still get a Mcdonalds fish filet. I only eat the fish, not the bun. Fries occasianally to indulge. When I cook burgers at home, I only eat the burger, no bun and usually only mustard or a little salt & pepper.

I intentionally chose to stop eating fast food nearly 30 years ago (thanks Dean Ornish!). When I drive the 10 miles into town, I don't even see the fast food restaurants. A coworker tried to give me directions to a hotel and said, "It's right across from McDonald's." I replied, "I have no idea where that is." Thankfully, I live in a fast food desert. I live in bougie health-conscious area (3 farmer's markets within 15 minutes). My region of NC has a lot of family farms, and even the local grocers buy farm-direct produce. My weakness? A little family run Italian restaurant has a white Alfredo garlic sauce Florentine pizza with spinach, tomatoes, onions, mushrooms, and feta. OMG! Pure Nirvana!

The best thing you can do if you order fries is ask for them without salt. This ensures that they will be freshly cooked and it will also allow you to use a lot less salt.
I have a friend who always orders fries with no salt but she always does this because she doesn't like old, cold or stale fries. But the take away is giving you a chance to use less salt, a healthier option if you really want fries.
Since every fast food place salts the fries immediately after they finish cooking, they're going to have to fry a new batch just for you.
But don't forget to ask for a package of salt because you still need a minimal amount on potatoes. This puts you in control and your fries will be hotter and fresher than those sitting under the heat lamp.
I'm surprised there was no mention of chicken wings!
I don't eat a lot of fast food and I've never had a Big Mac. If I decide to have a bacon cheeseburger, I'll usually get the junior size.
My weakness is the Wendy's Frosty but I usually get the junior size. It goes well with the junior bacon cheeseburger. An occasional indulgence which I try to eat in moderation.
I'm also very picky about eating fast food. McDonald's started out being a cheap place to eat but today it can cost more than a good restaurant.
But I didn't grow up eating McDonald's (when it was really cheap) and I prefer lettuce and tomato on a burger instead of wilted, soggy lettuce and special sauce that's the equivalence of Thousand Island dressing.
And it's always nice to see healthier side options of salads and fruit!
Texas was probably one of the last states to have sweet tea but for me, it's just too sweet. Now if I order it, I always ask for half and half. I get half sweet and half unsweet. I'm even using half the sugar in my coffee now than what I used to.
I used to always have a soft drink with a hamburger but now I get tea and more often I just get water (or a junior Frosty).😉
But moderation is the key if you have to stop for fast food! And if I get fries, it won't be these🍟.
Many burger places will sell you a plain burger patty with no bun. There's no law that says you have to get a bun. Sometimes it's just a matter of omitting certain items. You could just get the meat portion with a salad.
Most of the fast food places offer a good variety of salads now! And most of them are full meal size (just don't top it with fries).
Almost every fast food place also offers chicken sandwiches and grilled chicken is a good option.
Menus have grown at fast food places and many have better options than ever before.
You can be creative and end up with a healthier meal!
Thanks for sharing another great video!👍

Instead of fries, I order a plain baked potato at Wendy's. When I travel, I bring an ice chest with pasta sauce to put on top and I carry roasted chickpeas seasoned with turmeric and salt to add some flavor, complexity, and protein. It makes a very satisfying meal. The chickpeas are shelf stable so they do not require refrigeration. I buy them at an Indian market

Yes, Brian what is it about putting a vegetable like a carrot in a cake and covering it and cream cheese icing that makes it so darn moist and delicious. Lots of people ditch the bun these days. We suspect the patty probably does an equal amount of damage just a different way. Thanks for coming along for the ride.

Im a big fan of zero cal sodas regardless of "chemicals". Helped me get to 5% bf and kill my cravings for sugar, but i know some say it should increase the craving but for me it didnt. Best thing for these high cal fast food meals is to drink plenty of water after for quicker digestion and flush excessive salt. But i like ur suggestions and agree for the most part..ideally, best way to conquer fast food cravings is to create healthy versions and cook yourself, theres TONS of online recipes for almost everything✌️

When I occasionally need to go to Maccas (in Australia) I order an Angus burger with no sauce, no fries and no drink. It has more salad than any other burger. If only there was an option for a more wholesome bun, it would be a pretty healthy meal.
Maccas have excelled in targetting kids early with happy meals. As a parent it's so easy to take the time saving drive through option. Then it's a downward spiral once your child has had a chicken Macnugget.

For me if it’s what would be considered “ fast food “ it’s breakfast sandwiches and lunch sandwiches either from Panera or my local bakery that does croissant breakfast sandwiches or this local place near me that their specialty is breakfast biscuit sandwiches …. Now when I’m doing the breakfast biscuit or breakfast croissant, I only get those like 2 or three 3 times a year for a special reason- birthday or when my husband and I treat each other to favorite meals for the day for our anniversary or something, … when I am rarely traveling for a longer trip and it’s Panera I do an order online for pick up where I can modify the items I choose and I always remove the salt topping and add some combination greens tomato and avocado and will try to choose chicken or turkey instead of beef or ham

My guilty pleasure is calamari (deep fried) and Greek salad from Opa. Runner up would be felafel from Pita Pit with all the veggies and tzatziki as the sauce. After finding out I have an elevated LP(a) level, I really improved my diet (mainly Mediterranean), and after a year or so, I've found that most of the fast food I used to love isn't very appealing to me anymore.

I choose a junior burger, discard 1/2 bun, or in Arby's, just eat "meat" with some horsey sauce. Sadly, restaurants dropped small side salads during covid, and they never returned. My husband chooses restaurant, I make do as best as I can. The free frosty from Wendy's you can get if you donate a dollar or two at the beginning of a year is a sweet ending now and then, just enough. We're close to 80 now, and enjoy a fast food now and then, but in smaller sizes.

When I go for fast food to accompany my husband, I get a veggie sub, veggie burger, veggies on top of the burger. I don’t eat meat so it doesn’t tempt me, but I do love the fries. I’m sure they are drenched in oil that meat is fried in. Even vegan restaurants are for the most part- not healthy. Better off cooking from home where you can control what goes in your food. Great segment! How about a segment on going to a Super Bowl party and how to eat healthier with all the temptations. Thanks!

We’ve found healthier fast food by thinking beyond burger places. Mexican, Greek or Asian are our go tos, and all have better non-processed / less processed protein options like beans or tofu. Still gotta watch the sides, beverages and sauces. Great topic!

Go for the tomato saucy type meal not the creamy one. And don't fall for the upsize option. They just give you more chips and a bigger soft drink. You are making a multinational company richer at the expense of your health.

Subway has the be the best fast food for healthy eating. skip the mayo, deli meats. get lean steak, 1/2 the normal cheese, multi grain bread- then spinach, tomato, cucumber, bell pepper, onion. I only have them put on vinegar and some black pepper. eggs too if you want.

Wendy's serves baked potatoes, salad, and a fresh chicken sandwich. It's not realy fast food, but if you have Safeway, grocery store, they have hot squash or chicken/Thai soup, not bad at all. Another option is a chicken Shawarma without sauce. Or a foot-long oven-baked chicken from Subway.
