I do a pretty similar routine year-round usually. My hair is really dense so even when I damp style it still takes me 40 minutes or so to diffuse and that's with my Dyson dryer which dries my hair much faster than my old cheap dryer would take. Recently I've been trying to get away from diffusing so I've been diffusing for about 15 minutes and then air drying the rest of the way which takes another 2-3 hours for it to dry. When I try to just air dry it takes about 5 hours so just diffusing 15 minutes cuts about 2 hours of air drying time. It's nice to not diffuse for so long when it is hot out!

Hairstyle is so cute! And your hair looks gorgeous with the quick summer hair routine! I tried that combo curlsmith products, but I did the protein cream before the spray to make it the "leave in conditioner " the spray says to use before applying. I didn't want to use a leave in and then that cream. But I will try it your way with the brushing and apply the souffle on damp hair. Cause, ya, diffusing in summer...not my favorite!

I do t think it matters too much when you apply the spray to be honest 😃

Wow your curls looks extra bouncy and shiny in this video! If you would include the volume foam, would you distribute that on wet or damp hair? And before or after gel? Great video

Thanks so much! I would add it after cream, before gel. Probably after removing the excess water but either before or after would be fine 😃

Your hair looks beautiful as always Marisa! Just a question , after you apply your leave-in cream, you microplop to remove extra water. Do you think the hair absorbs the product immediately so when microplopping it's mostly water that gets removed. I've heard some wavies say your hair absorbs just the amount of product it needs, while others say you have to wait 10 minutes or wetplop for the product to really absorb. I would really appreciate your expert opinion on this. Thank you? 🌺

Hi, I’m so sorry I only just saw this comment. To be honest I’m not 100% sure, I only know that it seems to work for me and doesn’t appear to remove much if any of the leave in 😃

Been trying to find your post where someone told you that your hair was wavy NOT curly.
I have just left a hair group over the same disagreement. The moderator put up photos of what she says are hair types from 2 up to 4. In her opinion type 2, no matter how curly the hair looks, if it doesn't curl right at the roots then you have wavy hair NOT curly!!
I had always read that you can have sections of different hair types all over your head but if the majority of it is curly then you are probably type 3. Oh boy did I open a can of worms, as I mentioned her photos are vastly different to the ones Curlsmith have on their website and all I got were quite sarcastic and rude comments about that. Told me that websites like them were all leaning towards white people's hair and that if you take their quiz, most people lie when they give their answers!!!!
Can't be bothered with people who can't play nice so left the group and let's face it those answers seem to me to be racial prejudice. Can only assume it's not a group from UK.

Unfortunately this does seem to be a huge issue in lots of facebook curly hair groups at the moment. But there is always something causing drama and what that particular subject is differs from time to time.
I do understand that some people ‘overtype’ their hair which causes people (usually black people) with the tightest curl pattern to almost be pushed off the end of the scale. So I can see that it can be a problem.
But I don’t see how someone can decide that just because your hair doesn’t curl from the root it’s not curly.
Tbh I just stay away from curl typing at all nowadays. My hair is a mix of curls and waves and that’s that 😃
