FLOODING KEEL on BARCRUSHER, SURTEES good or bad?

- Exposing the downsides and negatives to having a flooding keel system on a trailer boat. We do a series of timed 0-20 knot tests with the keel:
sealed with air (baseline test)
full of water but able to drain (not closed)
fully sealed with water

I love your Honest Videos , on all your topics , Amazing boat wish they had them in Canada
Loving all this info mate, cheers💪
Brilliant test mate, we’ve got a 615 HT with a 150 and have always wondered what effect the flap would have. Liking the honest content.
So what if if it takes 2 seconds extra, the benefit of stability is far more preferable
Interesting vid. I would be interested to know the difference in fuel consumption at cruising speed say in the 20-25 kt range with the ballast tank empty and full.
Very useful video. I really like the design of flooding keel with a open/close door, was wondering does bar crushe’s actuator flap door seal water well? My surtees cable door does not seal well, I tried once when retrieving the boat with full of water in flooding keel and flap door closed, massive water coming out from the door seal and only last few minutes to drain all the water, still trying to workout a better way to solve this issue
So yes the plan is to get bobcat to re-prop this thing soon. But in any case, I always recommend max HP on these boats (especially the hardtop range).
How's your spine
