An underrated, wonderful movie, one of my favorites! It has everything: excellent acting, duel scenes/action sequences, soundtrack, chemistry between the characters, a revenge plot, romance story, and mentor-student relationship. The way a swashbuckling film should be done!
I wouldn't say that she lost to Zorro on the basis of skill but rather on the basis of emotion and awareness of her surroundings. Early during the duel, she showed to be better skilled but as the fight went on her frustration and temper caused her to lose and I think this was intentional on Zorro's part. He knew that she wasn't an amateur so his best course of action was to rattle her emotionally and wait for her to make a mistake. It was his strategy from the start by attempting to walk past and imply that she didn't know how to use a sword was a deliberate attempt to get a rise out of her. If you can't keep a cool head in a fight then you've already lost the fight before it even began because you'll be on defense while the opponent will have a clear mind and see your obvious mistakes.

I think I rewound this movie so much as a kid I wore out the VHS tape, lol. This was my favorite movie back when I was 10/11 years old.
Such a gentleman for making sure she stays in the light.
CZJ shows that power is exciting. I hope she continues to be admired now as she was back then. She is a beautiful soul. Mr. Douglas is lucky to have her love him as she does.
Esa escena debió terminar con el Zorro dándole una palmadita en la nalguita a Catalina ZJ 🤭
“Mama, how did you and Father meet?”
“Well, child, it was like this…”
This scene is why I’m a fan of zorro
Very beautiful sexiest actress.
0:38...Honestly...😍😍😍
She’s gorgeous!
Blew my mind when I learned years later she’s not even Hispanic, but Welsh 😂
It’s also crazy to think this role was made for Shakira 😲
That is the tannest Celt I've ever seen, lol. And they said it couldn't be done...
@@lilacpen8678 IKR!?
Here’s a woman that fits the stereotype of the ideal Latina, and she’s White through and through 😅
If I get in a swordfight, I hope it goes just like this one did. I bet it will - this scene is very realistic.
This is the first movie I saw Catherine Zeta Jones in it and to be honest I had a huge crush on her when I saw this when I was like 8 or 9. She was just so young and attractive.
