In this video, I guide you through understanding and improving your impact skills. We delve into key elements including rotation, lateral flexion (side bend), and spinal extension. I present a simple yet effective drill to help you better understand and replicate the right impact feel. This includes a step-by-step process from a basic stance to hitting the ball, emphasizing creating the correct movement pattern and sensation before actually hitting balls. I also stress the importance of keeping the shoulders relaxed for a more efficient and effective swing. By the end, you'll learn techniques to enhance your golf swing impact, leading to more solid hits.

Let me know if you have any questions or need anything! 🙏🙏🙏
Great lesson! I’m going to rehearse the impact drill, get the feel and take it to the range. Thank you for the free content.
You got it! Thanks for the comment and feedback!
Trevor is the man. Love his videos.
🙏🙏🙏
Great video. One follow up topic would be on the right backswing and transition feels that get to that impact position in a simple manner
Thank you! Appreciate it! I will surely add this to my list of content for you!
TS
This is one of the best impact position drills I've seen as you work backwards after impact. LOVE IT!!!!!
And I can practice this in my living room...once I move out the hot wheels track.
Let’s get that hot wheels track out of the way so you can work on this!!! Looking forward to hearing your progress with it! Let me know how it goes and if you have any questions on it!
Another GREAT video! Thank you Trevor
Thank you! Greatly appreciate this!
The ducks 😂😂😂. Great instruction! Can’t wait to try it
These geese 🪿 here are brutal! They always find a way to make it into my vids 😂!
Appreciate the feedback and let me know if you need anything!
Great drill tips
🙏🙏🙏
Eureka! This is by far the most detailed movement drill on ball impact position. Thank you for sharing this drill. Protect this man at all costs!
Thank you much! Glad this helped! Out of curiosity, what was the eureka moment?
@@tsgolfThanks for replying to a newbie like me. It's the feeling and movement pattern before the ball impact. I incorporated this on my drills and boom I hit the ball much better now and hit some crisp shot with my 7 iron. More power on your RUclips Channel!
Holy F#$k bro i love this drill. Your approach is so different from regular teaching its beyond refreshing. The feels at impact are ridiculous. 👍👍
Means a lot hearing this! Thank you so much!!!!
This is one I’m not just going to watch & forget. Doing this all week. I can see on video I don’t have enough sidebend but didn’t know how to add without eating dirt
Thanks my man! There is a counter balance piece between the lead hip and trail shoulder. As lead hip works back and around a bit, that’s what makes room for side bend to take place through impact. Let me know if that makes sense!
Finally! Golf instruction made simple! Thanks Trevor!
Thanks! Greatly appreciate the kind words and I hope this helps! Please let me know if you have any questions!
Very glad I found your channel .... !!
Thank you so much! 🙏🙏🙏
What a great video Trevor, you’ve just brought to light the very thing I’ve been struggling at how to effectively train. Thank you so much 👊
So awesome to hear! Thanks for the feedback and sharing! Greatly appreciate it! Glad this made sense and helps! Let me know if you need anything!

I gotta admit - I've never been a fan of 'Muscle Memory', but the way this is presented - I did follow it - practiced with and without a club, stayed in those positions - and it appears to be helping 🙂
I agree, muscle memory doesn’t work. Connecting with a new movement pattern neurologically is what this is doing. I’d even recommend holding these feels for 5-10 seconds at a time so you have awareness of what you are actually trying to do!
Hope this helps and thanks for the comment!
THIS IS SO GOOD. MANY THANKS.
Thank you! Glad this helped!
Great video. Can you do the same type of video for the backswing to show sidebend, etc?
Absolutely! I will add this to my list of vids to shoot coming up!
Trevor, amazing video. The best golf video I have ever seen. I mean it. Can’t wait to get back down to FLA to see you.

Thanks so much for the kind words! Appreciate you saying this and glad you enjoyed it! Hope it helps! Would love to have you down here to Florida! When you thinking of coming down to Florida again?
This is just brilliant! Thank you so much. Will definitely be drilling this. Subscribed!
Thank you!!!
New subscriber. Thank you. I am getting a lot out of your lessons!
Thanks so much! Let me know if you need anything or have any questions!
Concratulations! Very clearly explained how impct should be an how one can train the feeling. I will try this.
You are welcome! Thanks for the comment and feedback! Let me know how it goes!
Really like how you break everything down, great job 👏
Thank you much! Let me know if you have any questions or need any further explanation on this! Happy to help!
Nice drill! Exactly what I need to work on
Awesome! Let me know how it goes and if you have any questions!
Great video. Super clear, super simple. Been struggling with impact for years now which is not helpful sitting at hcp 10 and aiming to be single shortly 😅
I’ll give this one a go next wknd. Thanks, also love your other vids, very helpful.
So glad to hear! Thanks for the sharing and I appreciate the feedback, comment and support! Let me know if you need anything or have any questions!
Trevor,
This step-by-step process of improving impact position is gold!! My best swings often come from brief impact rehearsal. But what you provide here is much more specific on the key elements of hip bump, rotation, side bend, and spinal extension!!!
When you go back to address and ready to start the backswing, what is your swing trigger? I have started using my right hip with a slight up/rotation movement to set my body in motion. I also have ~70% weight on my lead leg which helps achieve my best ball striking.
Lastly, can you do an extension of this impact video? I often do not finish my swing in my view, so a step-by-step post impact of the follow-through to the finish would be greatly appreciated 😊
Love what you are saying as an initial start for you backswing moving trail side of the pelvis rotationally. That’ll help to create space for the arms to come down!
I’ll definitely add to my list of vids to shoot a post impact explanation of what is the most functional from the spine, release patterns and where to finish!
Thanks again for the comment and feedback! Much appreciated!
great video. i realised i didnt have enough back extension at impact. thanks
You are welcome! Glad you like this and hope it helps! Let me know if you need anything! 👊👊👊
👍 Great
Appreciate that!

What would be a good drill for fomeone struggling with the transition, especialy the first move down. I feel like a big issue, at least in my case, is the transfer of CG/pressure. Never know how correctly to move that. Do you have any suggestions? Thank you 🙏
Thank you! Here would be a good vid to peek at for low point and a transition move getting more forward:

Hope this helps and thanks for reaching out!
solid drill - what would be a good way to rehearse the follow through? My brain wants me to stop after impact and watch the ball
Make sure pelvis, core and chest get around the target, trail arm works full extended across the chest (arms stay relatively close together) and pressure is forward (pelvis in front of the chest)!
Looking forward to working on body movement training!
This will be a good one! Let me know how it goes and if you have any questions on it! 👊👊👊
This impact drill does it need to be modified for the driver? I tee the ball very high off my lead toe. Thanks for your reply in advance.
I wouldn’t tee it up crazy high with the driver doing this drill. But you could use it simply to create a feel for impact and what you want to do
this is simply brilliant video. I started doing this from last 3 months and the results have been excellent. I feel almost amateurs should actually start from this position, would you agree
Couldn’t agree more! Reverse engineer impact and work backwards! This can expedite the learning curve and allow players to change at a faster rate!
Thanks for the comment and feedback! Greatly appreciate it! 👊👊👊
General question, I notice at coming through impact my arms are closer together there’s no gap however, during my practice swing, I create that gap is that from lack of internal rotation of my right shoulder?
Firstly, are you a RH or LH golfer? Secondly, I’d you are referring to the trail arm, if there is internal rotation from the trail shoulder, there will be a gap (which I wouldn’t recommend). Would surely like to see the arms more together from a support stand point! Hope this helps and let me know if you need anything or have any questions!
@@tsgolf thanks for the reply I’m right handed and I can see when doing the impact drill I have the gap and the club is in line with my right forearm. To get to that point it almost feels like I’m not doing anything with the club. When I start “swinging the club” is when it becomes an issue. I
I’ll do this at range today
Sweet! Let me know how it goes and or if you have any questions/ how I can help!
I thought that duck was going to get it!
😂😂
I find myself bailing out. Is that from not having enough side bend?
It could be that for sure. Other things to check would be setup (making sure the rear is sticking to far out), how the lead hip works in transition (working back and around for stability) and the foot pressure in transition (ball of the foot and not straight back into the heel). Hope this helps and let me know if you have any questions!
Sometimes when I try to compress the ball and keep my hands headed during impact and deloft the face is open and I hit shanks how can I correct this
Watch out for the DUCK
The Geese have been everywhere here… Including vids I make 😂
Spine extension is baffling to me. With this drill you're implying that extension takes place at impact? If so, wouldn't this cause you to miss or top the ball? I'm very confused.
When you have trail side bend in play going through the shot with rotation, extension is the next piece of it that helps to maintain center. If you only have extension without side bend, you could likely miss the ball
Feel like this is for me 🤣
Impact is an area I feel that a lot of people can get better at! Never hurts to train and better this area! 👊👊👊
Don hit the ducks
Haha! They are surely in way at times. They have a tendency to put their life in danger! 😂
Why not just start the golf swing in that setup position?? I don't care if I lose 20% distance, if I can hit it straight and on target everytime , I would do this
I guess in theory you could. I like using it more to create a feel for the player vs thinking about everything.
Sigh why is golf so frustrating… 🤦🏻♂️
Just trying to help simplify
Because it was invented by Scottish people
Just kidding. It just is lol
