anyone have a link to info about this case? Sounds horrible...
That’s whistling noise JJ made at the end.. was her secretly saying SUE THEIR ASSESS!!!
Doesn't the bail money get paid back?
Unfortunately only a portion of the bail is returned if you win the case or if it’s dropped. I’m not sure how it works with bonds people.
good question
I paid 140 on a 1300 bail for a bogus charge. DA completely dismissed the charge. I harbor a lot of anger for being arrested begind a lie!!! I cant inagine what this young man is feeling. And the 10-12 percent u pay to a bailbonds is non refundable.
My charge was suspended license. My license was not, and has never been suspended. Complete technical mishap. I still have a mugshot.
Oh and my car was towed!! Had to pay that too.
My bf was arrested for dui about 5 years ago... she doesnt drink or do drugs
She requested blood draw and breathalyzer on the scene.
Was not given... she had to hire an attorney, Pay bail and her charges were dismissed.
The officer who arrested her was later tied to many false dui arrests.
Cobb county ga for both incidents!!
Infuriating.
He got the benefit of being out on bail. There is no reason why he shouldn't be the one to pay for it.
The benefit?! The benefit of not being guilty but still having to pay for all the things that prove that. Education derailed indefinitely. And then someone like you says he has every opportunity to better himself
@@TheNuyorker So you think the brother should have footed his bail bill, not the defendant?
Make some sense.
@jeffreyclinard2002 no we think the state should either forgive the bill for fasle imprisonment or sue the police for false imprisonment. His brothers bail should be paid but the state or police should take responsibility for their incompetence.
@@justinabates10 So, every taxpayer helps pay his debt? Count me out.
@jeffreyclinard2002 That's part of being a taxpayer. Want change, then we need better police so they can't be as incompetent 🤷♂️
He looks so lost, his face and demeanor looks sunken. I agree he should pay him back but give him some slack, he went through a traumatic experience
I think that was JJ way of lightly suggesting he should sue by asking if he had already
Poor guy having to go through this while being innocent?? Damnnn
Them especially the younger brother speaks so proper
They're just speaking plain English. I do too. It's easier. 🤨
I love you judge Judy
I would pay him
Back. No questions ask and I would file a lawsuit against the county.
Poor guy. Defendant didn’t do anything wrong. What a disaster for the whole family. This is a horrible story but I can hardly wait for part 2.
This hit home for because the same thing happened with my older sister and I and she never paid me back.
Those are some good looking brothers frfr💯
She gave him a hint!!!
First time I see her been so calm and nice 👏👏👏
The defendant is handsome!
He needs to sue them
This is Outrageous!!
Wow. This is disgraceful and this young man Should be suing the Police for false arrest. Especially as it was on such a serious charge. Surely the Police Dept should be liable for reimbursing the cost of the bail?
I would help bail out my family member too especially if I knew he/she was innocent.
I bailed two of my wife’s sisters out many moons ago, and they were actually guilty. It was a shoplifting charge, less than $100 each in theft. They both went through a deferred prosecution program and counseling and never did wrong again. They’re both grown, married and have adult children now.
I’m glad this case is emphasizing how life ruining a wrongful arrest can be. Even if overturned/ dropped, your life is destroyed anyway. He should definitely sue.
He clearly has a case. He needs to sue the shit out of that police force, county, DA!
Does anyone know which episode this is specifically?
Geez they are both fine!
I’m wondering who he isn’t seeking damages from the county. Either way, it’s a sad situation all around.
Suing your own brother is crazy
The defendant is so clean cut and handsome❤. At least he didn't settle for what his plaintiff brother did and suing his own brother. JJ has a crush on the defendant. She's old enough for his nana😅. The plaintiff is just JEALOUS!!
He is way too calm...I'd be outraged and I would sue!
The lady in the back facial reaction when she heard $1.2 Million 😂🤣
Wow!!! I feel bad for him
Sounds to me that JJ suggested that he should sue the county for lost wages, pain and suffering
No Full episode?
When Judge Judy was interviewed on 60 Minutes in 1993, she said, “The goal is to get them to do the right thing. Nobody who comes into my court that’s prepared to do the right thing is afraid.”
The guys on this case do just that. They do everything they possibly can right. And because of that, Judge Judy is relatively calm and soft spoken.
You can tell by the brother's voice how difficult this is for him. Horrible thing that happened to this family.
Judge Judy is in love and feels sorry for the guy. We all should help him
