Ninja Gaiden 2 Black Is The HARDEST Game I've Ever Played

- Ninja Gaiden 2 Black is the hardest game I have ever played in over 30 years of gaming. After first beating the game on normal "acolyte" difficulty and dying only 4 times total, I decided to try to beat the game on the hardest difficulty level "master ninja". After three and a half hours, and 115 deaths, I couldn't even get past the halfway point of the first level.
Thanks for watching! Let your thoughts on today's topic be known down below. Thank you for the amazing support!
Bruh. Try armored core. Even harder.
I would say, yes, original NG2 on Path of the Master was more difficult, even though it's a little hard to say. This game kind of forces you to play a little more defensively, but the original hard far more enemies, requiring a near constant high-speed flow of combat. There are still some pretty good YT vids of people playing OG NG 2 on Master.
Dude, there’s a guy who beat this game, or the older version I should say, of ninja Gaiden 2, on master ninja, without getting hit once. I still think it’s the most insane gaming feat in the history of the world.
You must not have watched that video or understand what was happening in it because it's extremely lame. Yeah, no one else did it, and the way it was done proved it's an empty accomplishment.
@@deathtoraiden2080 Ah you are one of those aren't you.
Try doing it for a single chapter, you'd understand why Godfather did what he did.
@ bro what the hell are you talking about? 😂
@@chiarosuburekeni9325 I made a video on it. But I got a few facts wrong from it so I made an additional video making things right. And I agree.
@@chiarosuburekeni9325 NG2 on master ninja is pure bs, garbage and straight unfair.. I've played yesterday on master Ninja, completed chapter 1 and 2 by dying only 7-10 times ( obviously my ego of not healing made me die).. But after reaching chapter 3, I mean what the heck were they thinking while designing master ninja damage and all... The golden bat is so so bs.. The f? The orbs they throw can can one shot you to death.. Their grabs too, their hits too..
bro... beating master ninja in Vanilla NG2 was the hardest gaming feat I've ever achieved... and I've beaten dark souls, 1cc in arcade games. NOTHING compares. Master ninja in Ninja Gaiden 2 Black is definitely hard, but it still feels fair. In the original, it's just complete horse shit. Only recommended for masochists.
@@alexanderthomson7993 that last sentence made me chuckle
Dark souls, and all the from software games are easier because you can just level up to your play style
Ninja Gaiden is hard-core because you just have to literally get good at mastering It’s gameplay.
Correct, MN had only one objective, and that was to be the most ridiculous fucking thing it could be, never played a mode that difficult. Ultra Nightmare in Doom maybe? Though I think it's a bit different, because the game itself is not that hard, just gives you no margin for error. A mode similar to that on NGII would be virtually impossible. Even the best NG players will die hundreds of times in a fresh MN run on NGII.
Spot on that and wolfenstein new collosus on the hardest are only game i felt on par with og ng2 mn doom snd wolf are dumb hard @@gamble777888
I couldn’t agree more. I got through it when I was much younger and willing to die a million times. It was truly a case of self flagellation.
Master Ninja is my most prized achievement in gaming. It was excruciating and grueling, but the elation of victory was so sweet. The gamer pic that was unlocked is still my gamer pic today. You are right… not for the faint hearted.
facts bro.
Same here, I wore it like a badge (literally) bk in my xbox360 days
Good luck, warrior. Your road will be long and arduous.
Tips to handle Master Ninja (works for every NG game):
- Use guillotine throw;
- don't be jumpy, flying swallow will make you vulnerable;
- USE UT's when you have the chance;
- DON'T USE UT's when you don't have a chance;
The most important thing is knowing each of the enemies in each battle, this will allow you to know which movements you can and can't do in that battle.
The more you die the more you learn...keep at it and you will go through it all!
I beat Vanilla NG2 on Master Ninja back in 2008 during my winter break from college. It was definitely the hardest game that I've ever actually beaten (God Hand on hard mode ranks higher for me since I could never manage to get far on hard mode in that game).
There was definitely some absolute BS to deal with in that version of the game (I still get PTSD over the IS Ninja projectile spam), but I'd still say it was more about skill than anything else. Really utilizing ETs, UTs (especially on-landing to skip animation frames), OTs, and guillotine throws to strategically utilize i-frames during combat, was the trick to surviving that deifficulty. It was simultaneously the most stressful yet exhillerating gaming experience of my life. Back then I also used a walkthrough by a forum user from the now defunct IbereansNGrealm that made a comprehensive video walkthrough explaining how to get through each fight in the game in explicit detail. It was a godsend but could only do so much since the rest came down to player skill and a decent amount of luck.
I will say that since you mentioned not being able to get past the first chapter, don't feel too bad. I actually would say that the first two chapters in the game on Master Ninja are actually the hardest by far since you have less health and little to no upgrades to work with. Not saying that the Master Ninja run was easy after that, but it was definitely far more manageable.
The only chapter that came close in Vanilla NG2 was chapter 11 (the version in Black is completely different and feels like a joke by comparison), but even with that you at least had the benefit of fully upgraded weapons and more health to work with.
For all of the frustration I had to endure, delivering that final blow to the game's final boss felt SO FREAKING SATISFYING! That alone was worth it for me.
@@rohitpallasena2428 thank you for sharing this.
The Staff is your skill crutch bro. My suggestion would be to master the Dragon Sword on Hard Difficulty first than retry Master Ninja with the Dragon Sword. You got used to having that staff doing the work for you and didn't develop the necessary skill. Like you said all weapons have pros and cons but the dragon sword is by far the most balanced weapon and its the fastest at dealing with crowds. Izuna Drop might look cool but its not the crowd killer, chaining the ultimate technique is the key to wiping out hordes and once you upgrade the sword to the True Dragon Sword those Ultimate Techniques are a lethal combo.
@@knifeknerdreviews4609 this reminds me of the achievement list that said beat the game only using a certain weapon
Same can be said for you , the dragon sword is your crunch , you even pointed why it’s a better weapon , because you lack skill also and it done the job with crowds for you .
Dragon Sword is actually the second best weapon in the game. There are no bad movesets in this game though, they are all perfectly viable on the highest difficulty.
@deathtoraiden2080 Heavy weapons are slower, staff is weaker, double handed have no reach. Im curious what you think beats the dragon sword though.
@@knifeknerdreviews4609 Yeah different weapons have different strengths. Lunar staff is not weak. Don't know what you are referring to with reach.
The best weapon in the game is BOTA (Blade of the Archfiend).
Moveset just as complex and extensive as DS, high damage, high delimb, fast recovery and shuriken cancel-able, plenty of tech, powerful multi stage UT like DS, has Windmill Slash just like DS, has a fast single move launcher like DS, Rise to Heaven has high damage high delimb and full i-frames, has good counters, has FS, has the best in the air moves in the game, has a great and reliable heavy string, has amazing while running attacks with the heavy one having some of the best delimb in the game and the followup auto OTing, has it's own throw on top of Izuna, Purgatory Slash (forward hold heavy) is contender for best attack in the game effectiveness wise and whole other laundry list of reasons that escape me at the moment.
Back when the online was populated on PS3 it was by far the most common weapon used to tackle the game's hardest trials.
Im happy to see more people jumping into ninja gaiden, but also sad that they are not getting the real experience that NG2 was in the 360, I strongly recommend anyone that is reading this to give it a try in a xbox one, i can assure you, you wont be disappointed, NG 2 black and sigma 2 are really lacking behind in comparison.
No idea why people praise that version when even the devs said it was unbalanced and incomplete.
@DonYoGi8331 because it was much more difficult, which gave you a sense of accomplishment when you beat it
@BIGDO88 2 is my favourite but as the guy said it was broken and unfinished!! The black 2 is accessible for everyone!! Casuals, new comers and veterans!!
@moon-berserker8870 that's fair. I think NG black will always be my fav
@@DonYoGi8331I wish there was a compromise or a “classic” mode with the old enemy count because I genuinely love NG2B. It fixes so much of my issues with Sigma 2, it’s not even worth comparing.
Man master ninja difficulty is so hard lol but it's so satisfying when you finally get through a group of enemies.
Hey there. The live stream "game face" is real! Jokes aside, I appreciate the warning about Master. I completed Path of the Acolyte on OG NG2 and thought that was one of my greatest gaming achievements ever. Over the years I've understood what a slight achievement that actually is in the grand scheme of the game. I'm working my way slowly through NG2 Black on Warrior. I think the gameplay is timeless and hope to feel motivated enough to tackle the again on Mentor. Master difficulty? We'll just have to see... Great video!
Great video. Your movement, camera manipulation and enemy awareness looks great. The big thing that would allow you to really tear through sections is UT chaining. You really want to chain those ultimate techniques back to back in these games. Really, you dont need flashy combos and only minimum moves most of the time. Meaning you only use effective moves, not anything that looks flashy. Flying shallows are good in this version for decapitations. Whats good about that is it drops essence on the field. By holding block you can still jump and fight, but you wont absorb the essence right away. The idea is to get two orbs (or 1 blue, 1 red) ready for that ultimate technique. The best way to chain these quickly is to learn the timing on the onlanding ultimate technique. The game doesnt mention this, but if you hold Y (strong attack) right before your feet hit the ground you will go into an INSTANT charge, suck the essence up for a full ultimate and then can release IMMEDIATELY. This is crucial to get down. You can do this from just about any movement, wall clings, anything where your feet leave the ground and come back down (pretty much). Once you get one UT, you hold block, do some more flying shallows or executions, whatever quick moves you can to drop more essence fast, then go into the next UT. To really chain UT's you do them one after the other in a massive chain. Since performing a UT will drop essence from the enemy, you then immediately hold block jump and do an onlanding UT away from enemies and set up the next one. You keep doing this until you wipe out all the enemies. Wall Jump Attacks a very powerful too and have ALOT of I-frames. You want to spam moves that have alot of I-frames. Ultimate Techniques also have that benefit. (invincibility frames where you cant be damaged). With a little planning and practice you can keep the UT's chaining throughout each encounter. This makes the game much easier. You just need to practice that onlanding timing so you suck the essence up immediately upon landing. Eventually youll get it into your muscle memory and itll be normal. In these games there is also MANY opportunities to start most encounters with a UT right away. If you dont know the spawn points of the enemies, youll notice they start running towards you when you hit trigger points in the stages. Thats your time to charge a UT while waiting for them to approach. You dont get knocked out of charging in this game too often, like the old ones. You cant really drag essence from one encounter to the next, but you can charge them while enemies approach. Once you get that first UT that starts the chain, so it makes a huge difference. Before you learn these trigger points, just try doing onlanding UT's around corners and a little farther down in the areas. Enemies spawn so frequently you will definately charge some early UT's that way. The game always had some camera issues so camera manipulation is big too. You want to look for camera shake or go by sound when enemies are off camera so you can release that UT the second they get into range. I actually found it was best not to face the camera toward enemies as it seems to piss them off, so I usually face it away and chain UTs based on the cues I mentioned. Keep at it and youll get it. I tried to simplify from my experience with scoring 40 million in Ninja Gaiden Black's mission mode many years ago. This meant farming missions for UT's on master ninja and I completed all but maybe 2 or 3 missions on master ninja with No healing or Ninpo. This farming was often done with the weakest weapons to get the most UT's without killing everyting. Sometimes using glitchy positioning to do even less damage. This was hundreds of hours. The missions are MUCH harder than the main campaign with much harder arrangements like multiple bosses at once , etc, so it was brutal. Stubborness got me through most of it but a few simple routines is all you really need. I still have to try this specific port on MN but look forward to it. The Xbox 360 version of NG2 is brutal on MN and not in a good way. The projectile spam was insane. You had to exploit the game by mostly doing moves with i-frames only. The shurikens would stick into you while blocking and explode inside your body at different intervals while rockets and other shit was hitting you. Very cheap. I still have to go back and beat MN on that version. Most of the crazy shit I did was in NG, NGB and NG Sigma. Im glad to provide any feedback.
I'm not playing the game (yet) but this was a great read. Lots of good info I want to revisit here when I do play it for myself. Thanks.
@@DudeLongcouch Nice. Any time. I know how it is trying to learn and improve. Its great that there is the ability to exchange info these days and progress faster. Always enjoy those types of exhchanges. Glad to offer any feedback I can once you get into it. Drop by and let me know about your progress.
I have beaten the first NG on all difficulties, and the way it is handled is a lot better because to unlock the next difficulty up you have to beat the previous one so it eases you into the difficulty instead of jumping straight into the deep end. I would highly recommend the same process for NG2 because there’s a lot to learn
To this day i tell all my gaming friends that beating ninja gaiden black, 2 and 3 razors edge on master ninja and ultimate ninja for the 3rd is my greatest feat in gaming. I rage quit 2 for a year before coming back and beating it. Insane difficulty nothing has ever came close to that feeling of when i beat that game and got the final cutscene. While this game is slightly easier than the OG 360 version its still harder than any action game besides itself finishing chapters 1 at a time u should still be proud of that achievement
NG2 Xbox master ninja mode will probably be my greatest gaming achievement ever. I’d say the first two chapters were the hardest because it only took me a couple weeks to beat the rest. 2 years for the first two chaoyers
This version of the game is actually a nerfed version of the original Sigma 2 in terms of difficulty. Enemies have less health and delimb resistance and some attacks have significantly less damage (this is good) as there were quite a bit of attacks in original S2 Master Ninja that one shotted. It also has 2 less bosses (well 3 boss fights total). The game does fix a couple enemy encounters that had needlessly low enemy count in the original S2. With the exception of two, these really don't affect the difficulty of that particular encounter but it does make it better for sure. Also the Ninja Trials are the version from the Master Collection where they got uber nerfed since it was no longer a co-op mode.
Point being: it in fact can't be the hardest game of all time when it's itself an easier iteration of a previous version. Not only that, i am of the belief Razor's Edge is a harder game than original Sigma 2 (if you don't cheat and actually play the game). While you no longer get one shotted (thank God) so it's less unforgiving, the enemies are now crazy buffed and the new mechanics make general gameplay harder. I think RE has even experienced NG players sweating.
As far as difficulty goes and after many, MANY hours in these games i rate them as: RE > NGS2 > NGS =/> NGB >> NG2.
I don't have this version so i can't be certain to put it in that list but i don't think it would go above NGS/NGB. The unforgiving damage of S2 was really putting it up there. It's not that the game is easy it's just that the second game gives the most power to the player. The most devastating set of tools are in that game and the enemies have the weakest defenses.
People are straight up lying to you about the original version of NG2 being harder. Most of them don't even know they are lying because they are just repeating what they heard. You are listening to the echoes of 7th gen console war sour grapes that became perpetual in this digital medium (good job by the way). If you are wondering how series like NG could just vanish into obscurity until now this is the cause. Gatekeeping console war fanboys. I have thousands of hours in these games, trust me, the gap in difficulty between Sigma 2 and original 2 is humongous and in the opposite direction you've been told. This version of the game IS harder than original 2. It's not just the regular enemies either, bosses were improved in S2 (besides being a whole lot more of them). They have 50% more health and a lot (not all) of their AI problems were fixed.
Anyone can test it in current hardware. Original 2 is backwards compatible and the main story difficulty of S2 was not changed in the Master Collection. You don't have to take my word for it, go play them and see for yourself. Difficulty in vanilla 2 boils down to just spamming projectiles and enemies made of wet tissue paper.
I AM TALKING ABOUT THE HIGHEST DIFFICULTY OF EACH GAME *ONLY*
I've been thinking and i might reconsider my idea of putting this version below NG1 in terms of difficulty because damage in that game becomes very reasonable on the second half thanks to all your upgrades while in this version it will always chunk. I put NG1 higher because of all the Tests of Valor in this game that this version does not have but i might bump this version to below original S2 because of the damage situation. Yeah, i think that's reasonable.
hey, as a person who has grown up with ninja gaden 2 since I was 10 years old and I finished all the difficulties (both the original and sigma 2) I can say that in terms of skill and difficulty it is superior to the various soul games. this new remastered is no different, in fact in some ways it is even more difficult than the old ninja gaiden original and sigma2. in fact enemy AI now tends to dodge attacks much more making them difficult to kill if there are many of them, on the other hand they have nerfed enemy grabs which in sigma 2 literally killed you in one shot (especially in boss fights). I'm happy that more and more people are discovering this game and understanding that in comparison Dark Souls is a game for kids
Going through my first play through on Very Hard can’t wait to unlock Master Ninja
well there exists a mod which works for NG Master Collection,
which transform Ninja gaiden 2 sigma into Ninja gaiden 2 Black
same amount of enemies , difficulty , blood , etc
Beating OG Ninja Gaiden 2 on master ninja mode, makes me feel like a veteran of a damned war thinking back on it. I didn’t have many other games and did it out of spite basically. Was not fun.
Unfortunately, you have to beat master ninja difficulty to unlock ryu's 4th costume. It is really ridiculous tbh. Those who don't know, master ninja is the difficulty beyond very hard or mentor. And you do need to complete the game NG on mentor to unlock momiji's white robes, Rachel's business outfit, and Ayane's 2nd outfit.
Master Ninja drove me to the brink of insanity.
I recall how brutal doing master ninja was back in the day on PS3..You have to play very differently - always be blocking and never stop moving. Funny enough the hardest missions were either at the beginning there or alternate character missions (Ayane,etc.). Also online co-op trials...imagine 2 bosses simultaneously at MN difficulty WITH network lag slowing you down, that shit was unforgiving - I still think that was the single hardest trophy i've had to do.
Try playing Ninja Gaiden 1-3 on NES.
I 100% it on Xbox back in the day. It wasn’t hard tbh. I just needed to be patient, stick to dash and jumping a lot and effective slashing. I believe anything you put your mind into, you will be able to master. Time is the key.
I loathe FPS, but one day I decided to plat wolfenstein TNC. It took me close to 2k hours to do it, but I did it. this is me who never played or liked the FPS genre. So yes… it can be achieved, just be patient and don’t let mistakes turn into anger… turn them into experience and make better adjustments.
Nice video! I recently bought Black Myth Wukong (Soulslike) and got my ass handed to me - so I know how it feels 😅 Ninja Gaiden on the highest difficulty sounds insane. I'm tempted to fire up my copy of Sigma 2 I got preowned for PS3 a while back.
Honestly Wukong to me was very easy but for some reason the first big headed mini boss to me was the hardest I beat every other boss first or second try so far idk wasn't to hard Nioh 2 and Seikiro were changing though but idk man I play more Ninja Gaiden and still find it harder Seikiro has funner boss fights though NG has better gameplay though imo Nioh is kinda both though I highly recommend Nioh 2 to anyone great game
I subscribed to see if you keep trying. I slopped my way through NG 2 black on normal difficulty but I don't know if I have the tenacity to try to actually get good at this game. OG NG 2 is harder, even on normal. Trying to work through the original NG 2 on series x right now.
Judging by your video, you didn't learn the mechanics of this game yet . Your basics are not clear. For harder difficulties, you should learn the basics first.
Here are some tips..
1. Shuriken is your friend. Use it to cancel enemies' attacks.
2. On landing UTs, it takes mili seconds (instant UT) to charge UT if any orbs are there..
On landing, just press triangle/Y to charge UT..
( 1 yellow orb = ET, 2 Yellow orbs=UT, 1 blue/red= UT)..
3. Use wind path( very useful for harder difficulties) A+X then A/ Cross+Square then Cross)..
4. and for God's sake.. Chain UTs..
Remember on landing UT.
Combine that with this.. Kill... You get the orb.. Do on landing UT,.. repeat and repeat
I second this, these are basics from NG1 to NG2(NG3 as well, but can't do chain UTs, the rest still works). The use of shurikens is to know where your enemies are, stun lock, cancel some combo strings to recover and evade/block when you see an attack is coming, or extend your airborne time while in the air. Wind path is important since it auto locks the nearest enemy, you can jump on enemies to evade, change position while stun locking the enemy you're jumping on and do a landing ET/UT right after. Holding block to prevent absorbing essence can limit your movement. So, wind path and reverse wind is your friend. You can also use OT to evade attacks since you have I-frames during OT.
@GamingNightsNeoMasaki what do you mean by, you can't chain ET/UTs. Obviously you can do that in a one fight sequence. You just can't drag the orb from one fight sequence to another fight sequence to chain ET/UTs like Ninja Gaiden 1
@@GamingNightsNeoMasaki maybe, I misunderstood you,and you were talking about NG3 about the chaining UTs, I haven't played played NG3 yet. So, I'm unaware about NG3's mechanics
@ we cool bro. NG3/NG3RE doesn't have essence so you can't chain UT
@GamingNightsNeoMasaki how's Ninja Gaiden 3 though? Did you like it? I liked Ninja Gaiden way too much more than Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2. I haven't played the vanilla version of Ninja Gaiden 2.
I've just aquired the game in my ps5 and I really love a challenge.. Currently on my first playthrough on very hard and m8 the feeling I have is scared... I'm always scared of new mobs and new areas and how I'm gonna be able to get through.. Good felling though... very nice game, looking foward for NG4
I remember played it xbox 360. It was hard, yet fun at the same time
I’m glad they put they fixed the difficulty before it was just impossibly hard no jokes aside
Hey bro, here to give you some tips I just started playing the game and I beat it. I’m playing the original first one almost done with that one too. I would say that one’s probably harder but really try to utilize your blocks and combos. Try to fight like an anime try to use all your special moves that make the blue smokeor the purpleish color looking thing. Remember you got a couple blocks and you have counter so block attack and you get health every time you kill enemy so
I played the original back in the day and was quite happy, that I managed to finish it.
I attempted a run on "mentor". It was quite a bit more difficult, but certainly doable.
I also realized just how much better I had gotten during my "mentor-run", but I never completed it fully on this difficulty.
Not because it was too hard, but I simply lost interest at some point.
Never tried master ninja though.
On mission 15 right now its pretty rough lol on master ninja
I knew back then Ninja Gaiden was the soulslike of Pure Action games before DMC and Bayonetta even GoW. Funny enough PlatinumGames are working on NG4 which is insane they already make great Action games like Astral Chain and MGRising and popular Nier Automata

I quit the original for 6 months then picked it up again and won.
I beat Sigma2 on MN in 2010 Because NG2 Staircase Melted my 360. It was the hardest game I have ever beaten.
Well if you think this is hard I can't imagine what will you do in OG Ninja Gaiden 2 haha
It’s THAT time where everyone knows what hard games actually look like, you know why? Because you control Ryu the strongest ninja in history and yet you get your ass handed to you despite that
I remember playing the original on Xbox and making it to the chapter 14 and reaching the final boss and simply could not beat him. Smh 🤦🏽♂️ to this day it bothers me 😡.
Yeah, og NG 2 on 360 has way more enemies on screen.
In Sigma 2 everybody's throw will automatically kill you..... and EVERYONE loves to throw.
The OG Ninja Gaiden 2 on the xbox 360 was ridiculously hard at certain parts of the game. I beat it but it was by no means easy. At times it just feels like the game threw enemies at you for the sake of throwing enemies at and especially on the level where you fight Zedonius.
I never played this as a kid, but always wanted to, I’m fresh from a NG+ hard mode stellar blade play through and I thought I could run in to hard mode ninja gaiden and was so fucking wrong man, I just made it to chapter two and I think I’m at the end of it but this game is so freaking hard, but it’s teaching me the game, I hate the camera
Playing on hero mode as it's the first time I've ever played these kinda games even so I've had like three close calls lol
Dude you are telling the fn truth I'm literally just about to finish the game now after 25hrs of gameplay ...I almost gave up so many times .you have to learn to mange your health that they give you and combat has to be precise the further you get In the game.
I only beat Master Ninja on NG3RE, almost drive me crazy for that..but NG3RE have more hard Ultimate Ninja difficulty, which i gave up lol
You don't have to level the lunar staff to level 2 to get the Izuna drop. I was pulling off izuna drop ass soon as I got the weapon. Made dealing with the claw guys so much faster.
If your idea of playing this game on the highest difficulty is "it can be done" in a sense that it's a breaking through a brick wall type experience, you have probably been watching some meme streamers struggling through the game instead of someone who is good.
Watch this video: /watch?v=ef60AeGO-Sc
It's from one of the best NG players in the world. He is playing in Chapter Challenge so he's gonna have all the weapons and stuff but you can get a good idea of what actual good NG gameplay is like. He's not doing some combo exhibition either, he is just playing normally (for a really good player).
NG on the highest difficulty is never easy no matter how good a player you are, but when you are good it's not a "let me see if the AI is gonna let me win this time" experience. The aggressive and complex nature of the enemies means that some times they can do more damage than you are expecting to you like getting comboed or stunned by a projectile and then grabbed, but make no mistake: NG is entirely skill based and about moveset understanding and recognition; yours and the enemy's.
Learn the animation cancel ultimate technique immediately. Game becomes significantly easier. Also abuse guillotine grab. Throwing an enemy into a wall can delimb or even instant kill them.
I’m on chapter 10 of Black 2 on Master Ninja and Master of Flame is beating my ass 😢😢😢 I’ll get it I’ve got 7 more left! Also Tonfa is the strongest weapon in the game max that and you’ll be set aside from some bosses
funny thing is you said you went from Acolyte (very easy mode) to Master Ninja(hard mode) its no wonder you got your ass kicked xD
@@TheBitishDragon acolyte is normal mode
@@jaksarcade327 its not, in both the Vanilla Release of NG2 and in the PS3 version of Sigma 2 they lable Path of the Warrior as normal mode and Path of the Acolyte as Easy Mode and given how Black is just a re-release of Sigma 2 then it follows that the difficulties are the same.
There is a player that beat the original no damage taken dude is a G. You need to learn the advanced tactics for example guillotine throws and wind path and leaving guys to OT when your about to take DMG those tactics and others have invincibility frames which means you don't take dmg. If you want to beat this on MN you have to put the time in. It's so satisfying tho when you finally get past encounters that you were stuck at. DO NOT QUIT!!!
good vid. the original is harder. has more enemies. harder bosses. harder than souls games. unforgiving. i beat it on master ninja once. but that was after
practicing and playing all the other modes leading up to it. you kind of have to exploit the oblits and throws to avoid taking extra damage. its a brutal game. GGS and good luck bro! youll get it if you stay at it!!
3:45 that is brutal
Master ninja is hardest difficult every ninja gaiden games
2004 ninja gaiden original Xbox Master ninja no joke enemies always tough to get kill
2005 ninja gaiden black yes sure
2007 Ninja Gaiden Sigma ps3 more hardest enemies and big bosses
2008 ninja gaiden 2 Xbox 360 more enemies every chapters and big bosses
2009 Sigma 2 enemies can kill you very easily if you don't attack them early you already died
2012 ninja gaiden 3 razors edge in the ultimate ninja no mercy
2025 ninja gaiden 2 black difficult just like Sigma 2 and ninja gaiden 2
The original is one of my favorite games of all time. It is most definitely significantly harder than this version.
I actually never beat the original. I think compared to the first game which was balanced better despite still being difficult, the sequel has a lot of areas where you can just really get stuck in some bullshit. The camera can be horrendous there were a lot of off-screen projectiles and just all kinds of super aggravating stuff.
But there was nothing quite like that moment to moment gameplay. The combat against mobs of regular enemies, fighting big weird monsters, and the larger than life boss fights. It's such a rush
So even though I never actually finished the damn game, I still spent so much time playing it. Because I would just get as far as I could get, and if I got really frustrated, instead of giving up. I would restart from the beginning. See if I couldn't push a little bit farther each time. Inevitably though I would hit what the kids call these days, a skill issue 😂
I like a lot about this remaster but I wish it still retained the amount of enemies that was in the original. This one at least has more enemies than sigma does, but it still makes up for not having the original amount by giving them more health. And it's noticeable sometimes when you're doing these nasty combos on some random soldier and you finish and the dude is still alive. I miss that feeling of just cutting through everybody. I would rather juggle the amount of enemies I'm fighting but be able to dispatch of them quickly, instead of having less to focus on but having them tank hits
The game is gorgeous though, this as of right now is probably the best entry in the franchise for somebody new looking to get into it. Because it is nowhere near as overwhelmingly difficult
I can hear thegodfatherdictator laughing from here if you think Black 2 is the hardest and I dont have to touch it to know
@@wiffmastermase you're probably right lol
I don’t think I can platinum this game 😭
Playing on hard right now and I am running through it np. I haven't had much trouble on hard.
the number one contribution to ninja gaiden difficulty is the terrible tutorial and a lack of any advance guide on the game mechanics.
Once I took a few lesson on RUclips it is day and night on improving my game play
are you on Master Ninja Difficulty yet ?
I beat ninja gaiden black on master ninja, I beat ninja gaiden sigma 2 on master….i cannot fucking beat the original 2 there’s too much crackhead energy with the amount of enemies they flood you with…it’s a nightmare lmao….and I never beat 3 because it’s well…it’s 3
@@Bleedthefreak its the rpg for arm bugeyed blue lenses that are all over the place in og lol
@ lmfao xD so true
Razors Edge 3 isn't too bad. Its not as good as the other NG games but it's still a good game
Please give NG3RE a try, its chapter challenge and mission modes are fantastic. There's a lot of cancels in that game to boost your movement speed, it's a much faster pace than NG1&2 for sure.
@@GamingNightsNeoMasaki i liked Razors Edge. It's not the best Ninja Gaiden game but it's still a great Character Action game . Idk why but it took me a while to beat the final boss
Master Ninja on Sigma 2 is terrible, 5x damage, enemies are tanky, nearly everything is a one hit KO.
I have Ninja gaiden sigma 2 platinium so i can get it again. BUT those trials whitout second player will be hell because there is a trick with rachel. Always spinning and the other player kills 1 after 1
Vanilla ng2 is harder
I still dont know how i beat MN on OG2 lmao
Just save scum
This game is not for any man...only ninjas on a controller can ever master it. I have done it once on Master Ninja on XBOX...cannot get back there again. This game is near impossible without much practice. Also this game makes Sekiro look like a spectacle of ease. This difficulty was made to end your attempts...hence how short the game is.
When it becomes more frustration than fun I just don't see the point, it's a game, it's supposed to be fun. If you like a challenge go do something where the outcome will actually benefit your life 😂
Other people see the point quite clearly.
@@AndJusticeForMe nice of you to explain what the point is 😂 great counter argument
@@Matt7R Why do you need an explanation for something so simple?
The only wepons you need is the Lunar Staff and the Scythe in max level. Lunar staff is at the beggining and the Scythe after beating the boss of the 6th or 7th chapter.
the Og is ninja gaiden black
The OG abd NG1 Black are more difficult, also DMC1 and DMC3
i started at hardest level and now im at chapter 5 95% is holdig down block and block doging and hitting after openings literaly 90% of the game im great at doing that and just smash buttons at openings = easy lmao but i have a elite 2 controller with 4 paddles and that makes the game 100 times easier to block and block doge im on pc and exclusevly play on mnk but this game im way better with the paddles i only use the triggers and the 4 paddles makes it so much easier
pls play the og
The Devs turned the blood up to 10000
They somehow made it even bloodier than the Xbox 360 version
Bro you take 3-5 hits and you’re dead are you FR?
@@IlIIIllIII yup
Devil may cry or related
Enemies dont move
On ninja gaiden since itagaki versions
Enemies attack you all at same time
This ninja gaiden 2 black es the easy version
The original one is more challenging
Only 2 (or 3, forgot) enemies are ever allowed to be actively engaging the player in melee, with one extra slot that can be taken for an enemy doing or charging a ranged attack. During an encounter these active slots cycle through the available enemies based on what the player is doing but it never goes above the cap. So no, enemies do not attack you all at the same time in your magical Itagaki version that does not exist.
Yeah ninja gaiden 2 to was too hard on master ninja difficulty and not in a fun way, enemies had just too much health, way too damage spongy at some points even if you abused the ultimate quick charge tech abuse.
OMG this game is not hard any real ninja gaiden fan knows this game ain't that hard
I played hard mode, and it's pretty easy, but I've heard that very hard is pretty unbalanced.
Yea, i can almost no death run hard mode
"Hard" mode in this remake is the original Normal mode. They changed it in the collection because they added basically a accessibility difficulty called Hero Mode.
Very Hard is when the game changes from mindless button mashing to a real game. You can't make it through it if you actually don't understand and make use of the game's mechanics, so it will stomp new players but as long as they actually get good at the game it's no big deal. It's the easiest second highest difficulty in the series actually.
LOL there's nothing unbalanced about any difficulty and the second game has never been as balanced as it is in this version.
@@deathtoraiden2080 cool but have you played Nioh? There's no difficulty modes in Nioh. You either beat it or get filtered
@ There's difficulty levels in Nioh, they just unlock in sequence as NG+ modes. I find that system pretty tedious because you are forced to go through it on any subsequent playthrough.
@@deathtoraiden2080 the nes Ninja Gaiden games were no slouch. Took me weeks to beat the 3rd game and finish the trilogy. The first two were tough but not impossible the 3rd one you have to play pixel perfect
Yep, I downloaded on Monday, played on very hard and uninstalled on Monday. Never played before, but controls are wonky and he moves entirely to slow for a game that you're constantly fighting multiple enemies. Nah Team Ninja, y'all got it. 😑
Maybe try learning a game first before trashing it.
Start off on easy or normal first. Get really good with 2 weapons by building muscle memory with the techniques for each weapon. You'll find about 3 techniques that work for you best for each weapon. When in doubt block and dash out of the way. DO NOT BUTTON MASH, you'll be barbecue 🍗 before you know it. And don't bitch out so quickly just get good
Kids: this is how NOT to learn the system of a game.
You think that's hard try Team Ninjas Nioh games
Bruh if he moves too slow that’s because of you. Ryu is incredibly agile and can blitz through enemy groups if played right. Start on a lower difficulty next time, your ego played you
What a joke. Ninja Gaiden 3 Razors Edge on Ultimate Ninja is categorically more difficult than any game on the planet.
This is the easiest version of the already easiest version of the original game. Get the master collection, those are def better.
The Master collection is Sigma 2 which is the easier version that this game used for it's source code. The original xbox 360 Ninja Gaiden 2 is the definitive version with the hardest difficulty
This sounds like you have not even played it... Black is definitely Not Easier than Sigma... And in certain areas is More difficult than Vanilla... But you wouldnt know that if you havn't actually finished the game or at least gotten to the higher chapters.
Yea i didnt play since the og and in that i couldnt get past chapter 3 i was like 12 lol so i played this on acolyte wich is the equivalent of what i played back then died about 4 times in the beginning then the resy of the game i one tried every thing was thinking of doing master ninja think ill start on mentor first
Bs from fans of that game . Souls games are much harder than this hack and slash flick . It’s easy actually as soon as you learn how to manège that camera properly . Especially if you the Lima staff and upgrade it , it becomes easy game , so don’t listen to this nonsense about it being the hardest game ever .
Have you ever played a NG game ? lol
Souls games aren’t even hard. They’re tedious and constantly limit the player in terms of what they can do. If you’re stuck, just grind. Ninja Gaiden has no such thing. Upgrading weapons give you more skills, but unless you master both your weapons and the ways each enemy fights, you’re not gonna win. This is even more so if you play on Master Ninja, which I highly doubt you did
This post almost hurt my feelings but then i remembered to press O and R1 and got through it.
@@ZANGETSU_95 beat it easily in very hard mode first play. Now I am finishing the master ninja okay through . The game is easy .
