  • Mesa Triple Rectifier rebuilt with Hermansson 4 gain stages circuit. Both channels have a lot more distortion available, lower noise floor, better dynamic response, and a more musical EQ. I've installed my tightness control for both channels and re-voiced the "vintage mode" of the power amp section. Extra features for this amp is serial effects loop and a push pull tightness switch for an extra tight setting.
Guitar straight into the amp, TC D-two in the loop and running through a Malmberg 4x12 with old greenbacks + 2x12 with V30.
Please contact me if you want your Mesa Rectifier to sound like this one!

Only a matter of time before someone snatches up these golden ears and puts him to work for them.

Thank you! Yes, it’s my new workshop but since I’ve not moved the things from my old workshop it’s a big empty room with some amps and tools right now.

I had a dual rectum that sounded like a wet bran muffin. We've all heard the legends of them and heard them at concerts and in videos. They do sound great but I wasn't able to get enough aggression and punch from the one I purchased. This one sounds a bit tighter but now way to know without being in the room and playing it myself. I'm a Marshall guy so I got the Friedman BE100Dlx. It's a bit more aggressive and tighter than the recto. This one seems to have a bit of that mid pushed vibe with all the highs and lows boogie is known for.

Most that give up on boogie dont understand how to dial them in. They aren't simple Marshall or 5150 type eq. Funny, I've had guys say they are too full of mids. Now I must say I dont own one built after 2001. And the Tremoverb by far being my favorite. A close friend who was playing an Egnater, his bassist traded for a roadster. He hated it, couldn't get a good sound. He asked me for help. I laughed at how he was setting it up. Within 20 minutes, I had it dialed in and showed him how and why. Also showed him with an SD1, he had to give a clean boost to tighten lows. He is in love with the amp now. I'd love to have one of mine modded, but being a retired vet on disability its never in my budget. But I love hearing his mods..

@@SisterSandozI've been playing 40 years I can dial an amp. I understand what you're trying to say. I have a 5150 and it's a very versatile amp that you really have to work with to get dialed. I played a few shows with the Mesa and it even cut out on me a couple of times. I really did work with that amp but I just coulldn't get what I wanted from it. I had a triple recto once for a few hours. I took it back after comparing to my vintage Marshalls. It was a really big sound but I couldn't get the punch I wanted and It made noise switching. Had nothing but bad experiences personally with Mesa stuff. I'm not bashing Mesa it's just my experience and opinion. I've owned the same 2204 JMP since 1992 and never once had an issue and it sounds better than anything I've ever heard. I have a serious bias!!
