Same as you, depends on the tyoe off game, and also mood. 3d platformers, 2d sidescrollers, racing games, fighing games, sport sim games, is all controller for me.

I prefer controller. As long as controller play is an option that's what I use 90% of the time.

I use the PS4 & 5 controllers on PC 99% of the time since 2019. The regular single player games I play & Emulation is just better with a controller. I play on a big TV kicked back in bed. Best way to play PC.

It depends on the genre for me. I use controller for fighting games, platformers, racing games, Most Resident Evil games (RE4 Remake, RE2 Remake, RE7 and RE8 I use M&K for) as well as various other games where controllers feel more comfortable. But I by and large play games with mouse and keyboard. As for which controllers I use a USB SNES controller for pretty much anything retro on Steam such as the various Mega Man or Castlevania collections and outside of that my main controller is the Duelshock 4 as outside of the GameCube controller that's my favorite controller. Obviously I also use the N64 controller when emulating N64, PS4 controller when emulating anything PlayStation, Xbox One controller when emulating anything Xbox, GameCube controller when emulating Wii and GameCube (I use a Wii Remote too) and then the SNES controller for pretty much anything before the 5th gen so NES, GB, GBC, GBA, SNES, Genesis, Sega CD, Master System, Game Gear, etc.

PS controllers have features like gyro aim, which adds mouse-accuracy as Ive shilled to you. Which is a really good reason cause steam-input can add the feature to ANY game. The only issue is that the gyro needs mouse input to be the best and some devs never think to allow mouse and controller to be used simultaneously, and you can bind gyro to pure controller input, but it feels worse (other than getting aim assist, which is busted and borderline cheating), it's like if your mouse had potentially weird acceleration/deceleration, a speed limit and a deadzone.
And it depends on the genre, but in general it's like 20-30%, but if you filter out boomershooters, it's like 70+%, even for shooters due to gyro.

I only play single player titles and for the majority of them I use controller as well, unless I am playing a point and click title then KB+M. I use a Xbox Series X controller for my gaming sessions.

Yea I'm not playing fighting games, platformers, JRPGs, racing games, roguelikes, shoot em ups and bullet hells on a keyboard.
That is for shooters, western RPGs, city builders and strategy games.
I use a wide variety of controllers. I have tons of generic and third party controllers.
I use Xbox style controllers for 3D games and playstation style controllers as well as SNES recreation controllers and 2D focused controllers like the SN30 Pro+ for 2D games.
