    It's odd but when HRH talks about her relief when the Imperial State Crown was removed from the coffin - and I understand perfectly what she means - for me, personally, it was the saddest, most poignant moment of that whole day. Yes, Her Majesty's promise was fulfilled, Her work done, but the removal of the crown - continuity of monarchy - just finished me. Still does, every time I see it.

    When the crown was lifted from Queen Elizabeth's coffin, I felt the weight of years had been lifted from her. It was a visceral feeling and included relief at the lightening of her load, sadness that she was gone and thankfulness that for my whole life she had been my monarch. How lucky were we all in the late 20th/21st century to have had a Queen who ruled over our national, and international trials and tribulations with such intelligence, beauty, grace and dignity. God bless the Queen. God save the King.

    She will be a tough act to follow. As an American she epitomized what a queen should be. We could use a President with such quiet dignity, love of country and steady leadership. She worked very hard for her country. Her son will make her proud. Anne is also a very great lady in her duties. Prince William and Princess Catherine are new to their jobs but her training shows every time they are in public. Her disappointment in Andrew and the Sussex’s was so hard for her in the end. I think their antics added to her demise. Not to be forgotten by us. We will forgive but never forget. God bless the Queen . God save the King

      It was a shock to the young Princess Elizabeth when her uncle abdicated and she knew she would one day become Queen. She prayed that her parents would have another child, a boy who would be king. She would have been happy to have been the spare. Being Queen was not the life she wold have chosen, as she would have preferred a relatively quiet life in the country with horses and dogs. Elizabeth was not the kind of person to want to be in the limelight. However, she accepted her fate with humility and put her heart and soul into being our Monarch. One I am very happy and proud to have had. I miss her so much. ❤ ❤ ❤

      @bridiesmith5110 8 месяцев назад

      No it isn’t. Charles doesn’t command the respect his mother had. She earned it. She knew the importance of keeping out of politics. Charles has yet to grasp that concept.

    • @ameliarannestiggins2345
      @ameliarannestiggins2345 8 месяцев назад +5

      @bridiesmith5110 Charles knows and understands far more than his critics give him credit for.
      It's really asinine to think otherwise. The late Queen schooled him well.
      Naysayers see him differently from those with a nicer, friendlier, more positive point of view.
      The king has waited a long time, has supported his mother, and worked hard for the monarchy. Whether you respect King Charles or not is up to you, but he's done his part, and I can't see how he could have done anything differently or better.
      But then I'm not intolerant.
      The point about 'politics' is lost on you. Charles is well within his remit, you might want to go and find out exactly what this entails. This "politics' thing is always hurled at the king if you don't support it eg the Climate thing, but believers in Climate change support his speeches.
      Scarlet Maguire, an ex Labour advisor and anti monarchist, had a go at Queen Camilla for speaking out about the Roald Dahl censoring. Was Camilla being political? Not particularly. She was being 'on topic'. Charles has spent years learning about wildlife, ecology, the environment etc and years learning from the Queen. He does and doesn't do what the Government requires, and they veto it.
      Live with it and be grateful that there's a king that has deep-held beliefs in something that has now become current. It's not Charles' fault that every belief he had has become main stream and therefore our Government has policies on it. Charles isn't trying to influence policy and the old complaint has arisen that people are being too literal.
      If Government policy was to do something about potholes, presumably the king can never mention roads again.
      You're taking 'being political' too literally.
      The Queen was ridiculed for years when she first ascended the throne, but she had 70 years, Charles has had a year.
      I find the mean-minded critics insensitive and agree with the Courtiers over the 'too literal' thing.
      Merry Christmas.

If you care to find his disgusting rant at Davos where he encourages world leaders to use military force against the people to follow the green agenda. Charles doesn’t know what a pot hole is. The queen and Prince Philip warned him about being political. His coronation was a wef day out and he is surrounded by yes men. Time will tell what his reign is going to be remembered for. As for Charles only being a monarch for a year. What crap, he has known since the day he was born that he was going to be king. His mother didn’t get that much notice and was only in line of succession because another member of the royal family abdicated his duty.
