They really were beautiful, Lilibet & Daisy. May Her Late Majesty continue to rest in eternal peace, and may Her Majesty get some rest post abdication with family & friends.
You can't deny it... Queen Margarethe has amazing taste in fashion. I can still remember the beautiful gown she wore to her Son Prince Frederick's Wedding.
So are kings. Kings hold a far more valuable and important powers than queens. Meanwhile queens out there every time in history risked of assassinations 😂😂. We all know everyone prefers kings over queens Sooo, Kings 🤴🏻👑 win over queens 💪🏻💪🏻😌😌
Yup. Brits are so short?? The same with the Irish. How about the Welsh then? As a Swede happend to live in Ireland during the '00s, I was 90 % the tallest during every event (?!). And I being "only" 180 cm/"5.11 (average hight for Swedish males in 1995)😄 Now close to six feet!! My nephew exactly six foot so.
Margarethe descends from Queen Alexandra's brother, Frederick VIII, not her sister. Alexandra's sisters were Empress of Russia (Maria Feodorovna) and Princess Thyra, who married an Austro-Hungarian duke. Maria Feodorovna was Alexandra's favorite, and they often dressed alike, but Maria is not Margarethe's direct ancestor.
The Queen and her, were cousins and they liked each other..but I must say, the most other Royals come to Windsor ect to see the Queen, not otherwise, that shows the Standing of the british monarchy...Because Denmark, like so many other countries, where ocupied by the nazis and liberated by the british with our american cousins...so they ow the uk allot
Charles III, as a recent sovereign, will have to visit other European royals in their respective countries, and bow in front of them. It's not a matter of standing, but the seniority, that is, the quantity of time they have been with their royals bottoms on the throne.

It has nothing to do with "owe" anything to UK or USA because of WWII. And remember in gatherings where all the monarchs of Europe are gathered, the Danish monarch is always leading the procession, because in royal terms, Denmark is the oldest monarchy, and their regent is the "primas inter pares" - "the first among equals."
@@rafaelhegothat’s not how deference and precedent works. The King won’t bow to any head of state except an Emperor/Empress. Strictly speaking Presidents and all other Royalty would bow to the King and Queen regardless of time “served” though these customs are rarely observed today anyway.
@@rafaelhegowell Charles as a King will no longer bow to anyone else because as a King he is at the apex of the monarchy food chain. Technically the only titles above a King would be Emperor , King-Emperor and Pope. However the term King-Emperor was abandoned after the partition which led to the creation of India and Pakistan in 1947. Also, neither the Japanese Emperor or the Holy See view their respective thrones as being superior to anyone else. Therefore each sovereign refers to their brother rulers as cousins (especially with the case of Europe’s monarchs as they’re all in some way legitimate blood relatives through George II of England).
Great video thanks, one breach of protocol though. It should have been Queen E following Queen M when she inspected the troops. Could be because Queen E were ill at the time.

Beyond disrespectful to say. She reigned for FIFTY YEARS.Most marriages don't last that long. Also, abdication isn't dirty word in most kingdoms - in fact, it's quite common.
@SupportTheArts-yo8ox In my opinion, adbdication for any reason other than mental incapacity weakens a monarchy and is antithetical to the entire concept of monarchy. As her late majesty, Queen Elizabeth II said, "Monarchy isn't something you do. It's who you are."
Two of the most gracious queens who have graced the earth
It would be a nightmare for me to try to make small talk with people I’ve never met before, HM was so gracious.
Two dearly loved and respected Queens. Happy retirement to Queen Margrethe and rest in peace.QEII.

Going out on a limb here..,,do the Foreign Royals inspect the troops to know what they would be up against??
What elegance the Danish Queen has.
She designed many of her own clothes.
@aureissimus very talented lady, she is.

@rachelknight6028 l like Queen Margrethe, but that outfit was awful back then
and it's awful now. It's not flattering and looks far too big
My lovely queen margrethe of denmark such a gracious wonderful lady God bless her majesty
They were really good friends and cousins ❤
distant cousins
Queen Elizabeth affectionately called Her cousin Daisy from their childhood days.
They were distant cousins. She was also a distant cousin to Prince Philip.
And called each other Daisy and Lillibet 😊
@fahimnirjon7082 Margrethe and Phillip were more closely related
And the band is playing the Royal Danish Anthem upon her arrival. Respect.
Very slow though
Perhaps they should have played Hello Dolly ?
@@haglasu1468 A little too slow yes. But I guess they are not used to playing it :)

Prince Philip was no shorty.... you wouldn't know it standing next to these two.
The guard of honour and part of the band is made up of the Princess of Wales' Royal Regiment, of which Queen Margrethe was colonel-in-chief.
