Enthrone Darkness Tirumphant is a masterpiece, go listen to the whole album
Entrance sucks dix though
@@mysticsaxophone4181 I absolutely disagree but... eh, it's an opinion.
@@Empiricist14 That it is
I really want to see "Christians react to Tormentor of Christian Souls" :)
@@CaracarnVi LOL that'd be some dark shit
Dimmu Borgir was the first metal band I heard in school and it blew my mind. I was born and raised in a typical Indian family listening to Bollywood, and English Pop and rock. But this album opened up the world to me. This album and In Sorte Diaboli absolutely opened my mind into the possibilities in music, musicianship wise and composition wise. I started to explore different perspectives in life and philosophy and my life has changed ever since.
Riddhiman Medhi I’m Indian too! It’s awesome to see another fellow desi metalhead that understands all the stigma associated with our music preferences and culture. And even better, I found a desi guy that jams to classic Dimmu!
relate
How goes your metal journey? Hopefully you've discovered lots of new bands.
Ever tried being in a band yourself?
Rock on!!! India!! \m/
Listen to Summoning - Old morning’s dawn. You’ll love it
I see old Dimmu, I click "like".
Yessir
Dimmu Borgir - Kings of The Carnival Creation
My favorite song from them :)
One of the first DB ones they did, if you didn't know already. 😊
Ooooh you're right, my bad ! Though, the live version they chose did not do justice to the song.
My favorite live rendition was at Wacken 2001, I guess : ruclips.net/video/cugtePr9380/видео.html
@@Devolgalf I agree 💯
a great dimmu song here. should react to the whole enthroned darkness triumphant album. it’s sickkkkkkk
they definitely have to do ....all songs are masterpiece in this album
Best Dimmu album. IMO. 🖤🤘
Dimmu Borgir - The Insight And The Catharsis
oh yes. that is the best. alongside of Reptile
Best Dimmu song!
I agree
Yeeeeaaaahhh!
Seconding this. Bigly.
The intro of this song is a masterpiece absolute of music. Whole song is a masterpiece...
22 year old song :) i love enthrone darkness triumphant! Before the over the top symphonics and overproduction
Prudence's Fall is my favorite from that album.
16:18 ironically enough, Leviathan did the same saving for me. I know an album like The Tenth Sublevel Of Suicide isnt exactly motivational sounding, but it's both empathic and therapuetic, that someone else (a one man band) can compose an entire album comprised of your innermost thoughts.
Mourning Palace live has to be next
not sure about live, but hells yes.
Mourning Palace, please yes.
Yes, please no live version. I dont like Shagrath's live vocal tone
@@DMGinc77
Wacken 2012 is ok
the one at wacken with the orchestra
Stian Aarstad, he gave this real nice synth sound to Dimmu, listen to Alt Lys Er Svunnet Hen (original one), its just beautiful.
Enthrone Darkness Triumphant is easily my favourite Dimmu Borgir album. There is not one weak track on it. Definitely try Mourning Palace, The Night Masquerade, or Tormentor of Christian Souls next.
Actually this was the first or second song I listened to when I found Dimmu Borgir and honestly I teared up between the lyrics to that music. I've listened to it 10 times or so in a row and I had warm tears just pouring out streaming down my face. The melody is just out of this world and touches my soul directly, damn I even tear up now to this. I think it was one of the sad but also relieving moments of forgetting about anything to do with god and accepting my mortality and this one life. The lyrics and music from them is great. I instantly became their biggest fan! Their Eonian and Enthrone Darkness Triumphant albums are top tier masterpieces and you learn a lot from lyrics. I was brought up in a catholic country in Eastern Europe and I was damaged psychologically by the religion and absolutely never felt presence of god in my life, god abandoned us and will never return, the whole idea is just wrong. I unfucked myself with philosophy and thinking on my own. Not attacking you guys or anyone here. I love your videos and reactions and also all analysis you guys do ;) PEACE!
First verse talks about we all are cursed to die.
Second verse talks about death as it is the biggest power that rules this world.
3rd is about them (dunno if band or atheistic luciferians/satanists) bearing the light (spreading enlightenment, empowerment of thyself) for helpless christians (like me cause I'm EX catholic) absolutely raping the sanctity of saints because its full of hypocrisy, lies, stuff built upon BLOOD of humans and totally abandoning the whole concept of religions.
4th - God "stretches" hand for mercy to the idea of us praying to him but remember, "There is silence in the house of God" (Holy War by Thy Art is Murder) suits it perfectly because that is what I experienced and observe in this world. We as people like to talk about how good we are and its all thanks to god, NO dummies! Every human holds power of good and evil, not those outside powers or whatever bullshit. The whole spit etc they talk about is just them saying how they disregard religion.
5th - Misery is pretty much a default state of humanity and we all caused and cause it. Not god or satan or any OUTSIDE source. We will die and we are forever bound to death. EMBRACE IT!
kubasniak , you don't feel presence of God from any religion. Christianity is a personal relationship with God through trust in Christ. Being a Catholic or a Protestant or baptist or any other denomination is irrelevant to God. The truth is the Gospel itself, and the entire planet is Christ's church, not any building. A Christians entire mindset and worldview should reflect Christ every moment, not worshipped on Sunday and forgotten all week!
@@shaunsmith7651 No its a delusion. You just imagine there is a god and you having a personal relationship with a fictional character in a bad harmfull book. No different from teenage girls having a "real" relationship with justin Bieber.
No the gospel has no truth, you assert its truth based on faith, a blind gullibility fueled by ignorance and intellectual dishonesty.
No christ is a fictional character, its at best based on a real person or persons who you wouldnt recognize at all. Very probable that if anything of the story is true at all its based on a traveling conartist/faithhealer.
No please dont do that... christianity is a horrible bad and evil idea.
Oh shit. Best Dimmu song ever. Off of Enthroned Darkness Triumphant.
Spiritual Black Dimensions is my favorite of all Dimmu albums. I've been into it since the day it got released.
So underrated, that album.
One of my first extreme metal albums was 'Enthrone'. Then I beat my friends to SBDimensions, and they were skeptical, and then they started to borrow the CD and then I sold it to one of those friends. Got another copy. hahaha
For me, their album "Puritanical Euphoric Misanthropia" from 2001 is my favourite of theirs (it's very majestic, experimental, symphonic, beautiful, lyrically intriguing, and hard-hitting). It's from 2001. However, I find this album (Enthrone Darkness Triumphant, from 1997) to be my 2nd favourite of theirs, followed by their 2003 album "Death Cult Armageddon".
Really enjoyed this thoughtful review! One of the most beautiful songs.
Now this is the Dimmu Borgir i love. Anything from the 90's. Seth, ...And Oceans, Dark Fortress, Bloodthorn are just a few i love from late 90's black metal.
... And Oceans and Bloodthorn.. omfg. I'm putting on their split-tape when I get home. Journey back in time.
I'll add some Mysticum to that.
Bloodthorn, thanks for reminding me!
Oh, and add some Twin Obscenity to the list 😘
Since no one, as far as I can remember, has mentioned Old Man's Child and the Born of the Flickering album ... I just did. Yummy.
Thanks for the Birthday shout out guys. Love you both so much! I'm very grateful to be your friend and have you guys in my life. Vin, you're my guy! Love you brother
Binging on your Dimmu videos, but that happy birthday was really sweet.
4:05 most beautiful rendition of happy birthday I've ever heard 😭
Great song...great band....real musicians....very creative and well structured!
At 9 minutes you can really see Sori feeling the melody. Love it
Definitely one of my favorite songs! Glad to see y'all enjoy it!
I am not the biggest fan of black metal genre but i totally do admire Dimmu Borgir; they are true musicians.
Long ago you posted this. But on my friends funeral this song was played in the church as it was his favourite band. A much needed laugh in that place and time together with tears. Love this song, it's their best song for me.
You guys pick such great songs to react to. Thank you.
Easily my favorite Dimmu album. The synth sounds are just wonderful
By the light of the moon
And the beings of the night
A curse has been laid upon us
To seek and tear celestial gloss
To pieces
By the power of death
And the shadow of the Reaper
A call has been brought upon us
To complete the infinite fall
Of heaven
Without the wit or will to end this journey
We continue travelling towards our fate
Harvesting helpless Christian spirits
Raping the sanctity of saints
The heavenly father is stretching his hand
Pathetically begging for mercy
We spit and piss on his sacred flesh
As we breathe the breath of the unholy
For with the sign of the pentagram
Hellfire rage is for us to come
As we shall wander the pit
Unhallowed by the infernal one
We are forever captured
By the embrace of death
This entire album has been one of my favourites for over a decade. I highly recommend! I'm so glad you checked this out, the keyboard play in this song is majestic.
YAAAAASSSSS!!! All hail DIMMU!!!! Thank you for reviewing this!! This album and Spiritual Black Dimensions are tops in my book. I got to meet them in 2001. I had a exam on concert night, so I met them at Tower records in Tyson’s Corner the night before the show. Wish I still had the poster. I would have sent it to you.
Well analyzed! Cheers from Norway!
(DIMMU BORGIR - Enthrone Darkness Triumphant) - my favorite album ..............
a tie between that and for all tid
Despite not being the most 'kvlt' band, that 1997 album is actually pretty damn good. Not the biggest fan of any of their other material really. But they nailed it on that one IMO.
That album had the award for best bm album for that year tho.Produced by Peter fkn Tägtgren.Still own the tape ive bought that year.Every song is absolute masterpice from start to finish.
Hey guys, could you do Bolt Thrower - When Cannons Fade for Veterans Day which is coming up? It's a song about the PTSD experienced by the veterans of the first world war. Great lyrics, fantastic riffs and just an excellent song from an underappreciated band!
Sean Botha I Asked for Lady Death by Nathan Fair.
I go back to 2007-08 with Dimmu. I am so glad y’all saw this and I am glad you enjoyed the best song on Enthrone.
My 34th birthday is this coming Monday!
I love you guys, your videos are awesome and I really enjoy watching them.
You guys are fantastic.
Still waiting on that Nergal interview.
Yassss, one of my favorite songs of this band. Nice pick!
Wow! Dimmu Borgir - Dreamside Dominions!!! This is... Perfect!!! 🤘😀😱 ¡!!!!!!!!!!
also yes... :P
I'm christian for all my life, and in the lasts 15 years, a had the opportunity to know the gospel better, and I'm so into Black Metal. This song brought me to Black Metal. Dimmu is by far my favorite band. The power this people put in to these songs its awesome. I see the Black Metal movement as a sociological way. How the "christians" fail to conquer the world in "Jesus" name, making any brutality against others cultures and people. And masterpieces like that, for me, is nothing but the human rebellion feeling against things that are not fair, in this case, rebellion against another human organization who claim to know God, but it's just a group of people that want to subdue another group.
I love your guys's reviews from dimmu as they are my favorite band. Do the song entrance. It's from this same album with the same atmosphere. Great review guys!!
This album it's a absolutely masterpiece any song chosen at random is insane and beautiful.
Dimmu is very special to me! Hope you react to more old school Dimmu! Signing up to Patreon! :)
Wow, I haven't laughed hard enough to make me snort in a long time. That happy birthday was amazing. 😂
Was waiting for this one. 🤪
Great reaction, one of the best dimmu borgir songs ever! Try GAIA from TIAMAT. You will be touched musically and lirically too.
I love Sori's face enjoying the music. Hail black metal!
the memories.. I love this song
Floor "I Don't Know a Thing About Love" Tribute to Reuben (Beste Zangers 2019)
yep that one was good.... let the waterworks begin.
Awesome, I think the next band and song to react to should be Old Mans Child - Phantoms of Mortem Tales
Sincerely from an absolute athiest, you guys are awesome, i always enjoy your analysis. Religion fascinates me to no end, love the information you bring with your open mindedness, keep it up!
Just now i was hearing Det Nye Riket i love Dimmu Borgir 😄😄✊❤ For All Tid 👌👌
Yes, one of my favorite Dimmu songs!🤘
My fav song with them, not heard it in like 10 Years. Still as good as I remember
Best birthday greeting EVER....lol 😂 And Dimmu is getting on with their sweeeeet music...H E L L YEAH!!!!!!
A Succubus in Rapture and this one are among my favourite symphonic black metal songs of all time. Thanks for the reaction!
X2 speed for - in death's embrace -
Oh sweet I love Dummy Burger!
check out some King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard if you can, Self Immolate or Venusian 1 would be cool
This has been my favorite song of all time since I was 14 years old. I am 31 now and I am still dissecting it. The whole album is basically perfect, but this song has always stood out to me. So glad to see others enjoy 🤘
I am asking for more early achievements of dimmu borgir, Worth it.
“We spit and piss on his sacred flesh” reaction face was priceless
Yes, classic dimmu borgir and classic happy birthday day ........... I like loved ....... !!!!!!!!!!!
The look on Sori's face at 10:15 always makes me laugh. The lyrics of old Dimmu are so evil lol
🤣
I think thats the one and only reason they were given this song to listen to haha. The lyrics are so disgustingly blasphemous and evil, that even vin and sori coudlnt repeat the whole line... its like one of the worst things you could say to a Christian. Lol
Oh hell yes, this must really be my favorite Dimmu song of all time and i like pretty much everything from them. I bought this album on a big metal festival where they played. Actually minutes before the show never truly heared of them yet because i was in a completely different genre of music up to that point.
My suggestions...
Nightwish - Stargazers (album song)
Tristania - Beyond the Veil (album song)
I think that it's nigh time you did Dark Tranquillity!
Love to see you both react
Hey! You probaly already know that Hetfield is on rehab again. I think it's a good timing for you to listen to the song 'The House that Jack Built'. It would bring out a nice conversation.
The Night Masquerade with the Beast approaches and says at the end "Blood Is Life... And It Shall Be Ours"
Glad to see what your all doing..keep your mind open.. spot the lies.
I hope you two will be checking out "Tormentor of Christian Souls" by Dimmu Borgir, from the same album. It would make for quite an interesting video, haha. Its lyrics are nuts.
Their musicianship is absolutely phenomenal. Wow.
Next one Mourning Palace, or Progenies of The Great Apocalypse.
Oh man, honestly for me Dimmu is just the first albums, this "enthroned darkness triumphant" is my favorite. I listend to that album when i was like in 5th grade, so pretty young and that song was so amazing. I was changing from my old higher school to the new one because i got bullied like nothing and it was winter when i changed. Everything seemed dark and so cold, was a pretty hard time for my younger me. And this song helped me a lot, the riff that take their time together with the cold weather, my fear of the new people, if everything is bad again.. i had no idea of the lyrics at that time, but i rly wanna know how i would have reacted to that lyrics. The old bad school was a catholic private school and that left a scar for me why i have big problems with cristianaty. Would be different today if this happends because now im 20 and i can think about stuff but as the younger me.. that was just perfect. That gave me a platform where it was okay to hate religion and stuff wich i´ve done. Forcing me to go in church and stuff, i hated that. This whole album and this song helped me a lot and it is i think my most time fav album of all time. Thanks for reacting to that :)
The keyboards around 10:00 are simply orgasmic. My favorite part of any Dimmu song ever.
NIGHTWISH - Devil And The Deep Dark Ocean - Live In Buenos Aires (Heaviest Nightwish Song)
Those 🎹 keys! Some of the best
Top song ind album of al time❤
I remember when I subbed and you guys were a 8k channel
3rd best song off the album. Amazing album of my all time favorite black metal albums. Back when they were really amazing \m/
entire record is killer. .
Belzebubs - Cathedrals of Mourning and Blackened Call
It's a virtual band born of a comic book by Finnish artist JP Ahonen
The band sounds like Emperor had a kid with Dimmu
SEPTIC FLESH - Virtues of the Beast!
Please!
I play the video and it has not started the song yet and I just clicked "liked", justo because it's Dimmu
Love 90s Dimmu Borgir
What's wrong with Sori's right eye? Just noticed, its going all red on the side. Hope all is cool
Maybe a reaction to contact lenses?
I hope there will be more !!!!!!!!!!! Old Dimmu Borgir and I hope there will be more !!!!!!!!!!! Bathory............
Dimmu Borgir - The Insight and the Catharsis - live wacken 2007.... sooo goooood
Amazing album
Argh... 1997... Whole way through this video I was reminiscing about racing straight out and grabbing this CD after hearing this song played on a local radio station, then playing the album over and over again, learning all the words and discovering more details with each listen. Can't believe it was 1997...and now its 2019!!!! :/
Spellbound by the devil and mourning palace are a must listen
Best Dimmu's song, in my opinion. Bless me God, what an amazing fucking song!!!!
Una verdadera joya de la música, espeluznante 🤘🖤🤘
GREAT SONG!
In this period DB had one of most badass keyboardist... Stian Aarstad... all those Keyboard's lines is from him... the Keyboards has the control of song.
Lotsa mid-range in the production mixing of the guitars...gives it a shoegazey feel...so different from the sound they evolved into...and I fucking love it. There’s nothing these guys have done that I dislike 🤟🤟🏻🤟🏼🤟🏽🤟🏾🤟🏿
I don't understand the concept of sin. As long as you don't harm or hurt another living thing, physically or mentally, then you're ok. As long as you don't kill another living thing, unless it's self defense, or animals for food, then you're ok. Plus, in my opinion, I feel the only people that can think there is nothing after death must've never saw a spirit before. Why does there have to be a specific diety you have to believe to experience a good afterlife?
You’ve lived your whole life without hurting anyone
@@VinAndSori As a child, of course. I was a little shit. As an adult, yes, but only in self defense. I've never been an ass without justifiable reason. I've never went out of my way to hurt anyone unless they hurt me first.
Dimmu Borgir - The night masquerade reaction would be killer one. Enthrone darkness triumphant! !
I think you should listen to their another masterpiece Insight and the Catharsis, it's very very beautiful song!
And still, I beg you to check out Celtic Frost - Dying God coming into human flesh or Ain Elohim!
Thank you a lot for your stuff!
Please love u both...can u do a reaction on iron maiden 's face in the sand...it's totally unique and u both would love the music too....
Someone in Patreon please recomend to this guys the song ENTRANCE from the same album ENTHRONED DARKNESS TRIUMPHANT
