Even being equipped with a primitive radar, the F6F-5N 'Hellcat' saw use as a night fighter.

The F-6F 5N version usually carried a centerline drop tank for extra fuel. They'd launch after dark and could stay out for hours searching for Japanese transport and supply aircraft with their radar, then splash 'em with short 20MM bursts. Was probably great flight duty if you were a Hellcat driver in WWII.

This is a F6F-5N, the night fighter version of the Hellcat.
But you missed the chance to show it fighting at night with its 20 mm. cannon blazing.

Planning to hopefully soon, though night games are a bit trickier to record. - Ghost
