    Whatever the reason, the pilot demonstrated exceptional airmanship by flying over the water and saving half of the passengers.

  • @dWFnZWVr
    @dWFnZWVr 17 часов назад +283

    I don't think people truly grasp just how exceptional those pilots were. The footage of the crash indicated a complete lack of elevator control and a severe phugoid oscillation. I cannot imagine what was going through the minds of the pilots on that flightdeck, but the fact that 32 people survived is a testament to their skill under nearly impossible circumstances.

      @221b-l3t 17 часов назад +11

      They also managed a go around at least once and where lining up with the runway when another dive happened during a steep bank and they didn't have any altitude at that point. It was a large open flat area, they may have planned to land there with limited control. Data indicated they did 100 phugoid oscillations over that hour from 8000 fpm up and down.

    I am from Azerbaijan 🇦🇿 The plane was most likely shot down by Russia and diverted from the center, and it flew there. The fog in Grozny is not convincing. There are many versions, either birds hit the plane, or they shot it, or there was a malfunction in the plane. Because if there was a bird strike, the engine would have caught fire when it was at altitude, and the explosion of an oxygen tank does not look realistic because it is in the cabin. Most likely, they shot down the plane with a Panzer C1 anti-aircraft missile system, you can see holes in the turret inside the plane and in the fuselage and wing cover, there are amateur video recordings, and one passenger received a turret wound in his leg. Although the nearest airport is Makhachkala, they deliberately diverted the plane to Kazakhstan, where it was destined, and they wanted the plane to fall into the sea and sink and not be in evidence. But the pilot, may God bless him, brought the plane to Aktau, the pilot tried to adjust the balance by going up and down, and he did everything he could, but the plane didn't listen, 29 passengers were safe, and everything will come to light.

    Refusing the plane entry into other Russian airports could have been a deliberate another attempt to deflect blame or avoid scrutiny. It also points to either a serious lack of coordination or outright negligence (Russian разгильдяйство). No planes should be flying over Russia until this war is over, much like the restrictions over Ukraine. Yet, Russia continues to act as though nothing serious is happening. The lack of transparency is of course deeply concerning, though not surprising.

    Funny how they claim Kazakhstan isn’t a 'real country' when Russia itself owes much of its existence to the lands and legacy of Turkic and nomadic peoples. Historically, much of Russia's territory was occupied steppe land, originally ruled by Turkic nomads like the Kipchaks, Tatars, and Khazars. Even the Russian language is filled with Turkic loanwords, and countless rivers, towns, and regions still carry Turkic names.
    As for governance, let’s not forget that many so-called 'Russian czars' were German-born or heavily influenced by foreign rulers, while the Russian peasantry lived in serfdom-essentially slavery-well into the 19th century. If we’re going to question the legitimacy of countries, Russia’s own history deserves just as much scrutiny.

    I'm from Russia. Yea, it is what it is. Apperantly it was hit over or near Grozny, diverted to alternate airport, and looks like hydrolics leaked out, plane went up and down, and was uncontrollable. Now, the thing is, the rhetoric now is that it wasn't Russian air defences, it was Chechen air defences -- it's like saying it wasn't U.S. air defences, it was Floridian air defences, if something like this would have happened in the U.S. for example. The amount of ridiculousness here man. You see, it's good when you say positive things about Russia, but it's bad when you say bad or borderline bad or truth, there is no freedom of speech in Russia, officially.

    Do some homework before commenting on the story. The plane was denied landing at any (far nearer) Russian airport and therefore had to fly an additional approx 350 kms. If it had been allowed to land locally it might have made it without loss of life.
