Listen, I've been with SM since 2009 and I think what sets aespa apart from all their other groups is their team fully believes in the members to pull off all the visuals, skills needed, and charisma required for every release. What has been different with Giselle (and Ningning) recently is, SM FINALLY has figured out that this girl EATS! just as hard as Karina and Winter... you could tell in the beginning of their career they only focused and relied on Karina to be charismatic. Giselle been serving since day1 but the camera or styling was never in her favor. It was only in Better Things when they started to realize Giselle deserved more when she got the most attention with her teasers but they realized it too late as they already shot the MV. DRAMA and Armageddon Giselle nailed all her parts, albeit small and I guess now they FINALLY believe it isn't a fluke and gave her the same amount of attention as the other members.
the MV style of Whiplash and Hot Mess (maybe it's the same director/editor?) suites aespa SO well i can't stop watching. definitely helps that the song is a banger too lol

I do think that the empty white set may be referencing the empty nothingness after everything was destroyed after Armageddon. Maybe I’m overthinking. But I’m sure the next couple of MVs will really start to show us where things are going with this fresh start.
