This! I really could not believe how much I felt things chill out as I got further and further into recovery.

Metaphors are always so helpful!!! Makes our situations look a lot more « normal » as in it’s normal that we re acting in such a crazy way given what we put our body and mind through.

I was anxious amd afraid of everything even before ED, but during it waa just unbearable, I was stressed from everything, people, situations, going out, future, death, anything... Now after recovery anxiety level drop back to preED state. I can live with it. We have psychiatric diseases in our family..

Tabitha... I agree with you completely and I have so much respect for all the advice you give. But today we found out a very dear family member is having heart failure and it has thrown all my beliefs out the window. Because it means genetically someone I know will have to watch their health and be careful about what they eat. How on earth can someone eat freely and still prevent their genetics/diet from shortening their life span? I’m so terrified for the future...

And it just happened to me to react in an unreasonable way to a tinny upsetting event and I threw a tantrum and told my mom I wanted to die... 🤦🏼‍♀️🤦🏼‍♀️🤦🏼‍♀️

yup, i was clonozapam, and ive recently taken valium for it. marijuana helps best, but the valium was for in-between due to lockdown

Yes 100% I kept getting told by the eating disorder clinic to avoid meds that I have to deal with it and learn with it..it held me back all the time.. now on citalopram I finally managed to jump that little spot of extreme fear and managing the ocd to be able to recover .. I'm glad my GP advised me to take it and to be patient as they do take a while to help .. but I now finally feel I can sort my thought .. I know whats real and what isn't

YES. the beginning stages of recovery were a huge barrier for me. the amount of stress, anxiety and fear that comes with the initial changes I found extremely hard to cope with and it always led me back to returning to restriction. My psych suggested I go on fluoxotine and since starting it, although im not 'happier' per say, it helped me stop the constant panicking and emotional breakdowns and I was able to break through the initial stages of recovery and now Im in such a better place. I really wish there was more awareness and acceptance when it came to using medication

What's wrong with the spelling in your comments, fellas? They're full of typos, spreading like a Pandemic!
    Maybe I'm just stressed out.
