Synopsis:
In the process of stepping into society from campus, Yan Xiao Chen, an ordinary girl, suffered thrilling setbacks of fate and love. She used to have a happy family, but a terrible accident took her father’s life and left heavy burden on her. Yan Xiao Chen’s in love with Shen Hou in college. They struggle together for their career after graduation and decide to get married. However, Xiao Chen finds out that her father's death was caused by Shen Hou's mother. Thus she cancels the marriage between her and Shen Hou and flees to America. There, she meets with trouble and has to ask Cheng Zhi Yuan for help, who’s a wealthy guy she met when taking part-time . During her hardest time, Zhi Yuan was there for her and she becomes reliant on him. However, Shen Hou suddenly reappears in Xiao Chen's life and brings along Zhi Yuan's deepest secret ......

The mother of the ML is the root cause of every shit thing that happens in the drama. She is literally *The Drama* .

How would any feel it you have been made to believe you'll be marrying into the family that "killed" your father. Especially while hormonal. Think of her whatever you may; but not a one should have radical thoughts att. Not all dramas are happy endings. If I know it may leave me sad. Leave it to the C-drama writers to glorify abuse, calling "romance" (a cultural foreplay), then when the woman is broken from all the abuse, the writer twists the knife further by writing her happily giving up her one life to be in servitude to a brutal ass and his cruel family. Leopards can't change their spots, and Men can't either. Once an abuser, always an abuser.
Leave it to yt commentators to throw their opinions around without even knowing thr context and story behind a video. The woman is someone who jumps between two guys while stringing them both along for the ride. She first dumps the SML for ML, and does vice versa later on. She's not the victim of abuse and he's not an abuser. But leopards can't change spots, once a judgmental fool who says out things without knowing anything, always a judgmental fool.

I think his parents ruined everything for him.
I see many comments that the FL is too soft, too mushy, etc. Most of these writers are young females who have not gone through heartaches and heartbreaks, and so has a romanticised idea of what true love is. They cannot fathom that love for a person can shrivel and actually die. It cannot be repaired or wished away. The pain is too much to just sweep it under the rug. It cannot be forgotten not because the suffering person doesn't want to but because it just lingers in the mind even if after a century has passed. Like a clip which I recently saw where the ML embarrassed his fiancee in public during a gathering, and then later on cavalierly expects FL to overlook his cruel and obnoxious behaviour. Not possible! Private - yes, but public - no. But this one young female writer pens in the finale that they reconcile and live happily ever after. These young female writers sell their gender down the drain with such pathetic FL's behaviour.

@@vidinman she's not innocent. Go watch the drama you'd know. She basically dumps the SML and goes with the ML but then when SML comes back again she strings him along while she's with the ML. She jumps between the two men majority of the drama.

@Hilton Honors actually the FL is at fault here not the guy. If you watch this drama you'd know how bad her character actually is and she keeps leading on both the guys at the same time.

Personally, I think he is better off without her. This is a case of “the sins of the fathers…” So the FL and ML were boyfriend/girlfriend in HS. Due to her family falling on hard times, she had to get a part-time job. Introduction of the SML, who happens to be rich. Fast forward and the FL & ML are expecting as well as getting married. But before the wedding can happen, the FL finds out that her future MIL was inadvertently responsible for her dad’s. Instead of being an adult and talking about this over with the ML, she picks up and runs away while still pregnant with his child. He has no clue where she is. Fast forward a little bit more, she is now in ,America, but in need of help. So who does she all? Not the ML, but the SML. Remember, he’s rich. The ML shows back up in her life, and somehow or another she convinces him that the child that they were expecting before she ran away is not really his but is actually the SML‘s. WTF?! And he is naive enough to believe her. So this whole drama is basically how much can she screw over the ML but make it seem like it’s his fault.
And this is why I don’t watch Chinese dramas. 🤣 their FL’s are a special kind of psycho

You missed the part about the ML's mother doing crazy shit over and over and over, school, jobs, family. She manipulates, threatens, and tries to buy off the FL so many times its ridiculous.

This comment section is a mess, it can only mean that the writer did their job well. I will say that it's a nice change of pace to write and act such a flawed and misguided FL. Her choices makes her not likable but when she realizes the hurt she is causing and starts to set things right she is showing a person can be redeemed if they so chooses. How humans have to dig deep to cough up our hurts, bad attitude, bitterness, bad behavior, and/or faulty thought processes in order to get on the right track and find peace and joy even if you have to suffer the consequences of your past decisions.

This is making me want to get popcorn and watch this now but I'm still watching my amazing boyfriend. I've already saved it and I love this FL from other shows I've watched. Except one😂 Now to see if I'll like or hate her in this one. It's good even an actress you like can make you love or hate her character.
@@chriscynthiaphillips699 As a whole it's not well done correct, but I tend to give these lower budget works more looks than most. Seeing what novice or lower rated writers and productions put out is a job and sometimes we don't like what they produce but I always find something I like in them.

What will this woman do when her son discovers the truth, because sooner or later it turns out, what will she tell him, after all it is she who lied to her father, choosing herself for her son. You can quarrel as much as you want in the couple but the father and the son have nothing to do with it, it is up to the father to be the father and the son to be the son. This girl was wrong to lie, the rest can fight not get together but the son is also the father's.
I agree. Lying is always wrong. Keeping him from knowing he was going to be a dad is very controlling of her. The child is his as much as it is hers, and the dad deserves to know so that he can choose to be a dad or not to the child. Her anger towards the ML does not justify her lies.

People here judging him don't even know the context of this 💀💀 if you just watch this drama you'd know how badly written the FL is. She literally strings the SML along while with ML and acts all innocent when she's completely not.

If people are taking the FL side then they clearly haven’t seen the show from start to finish; the FL is the issue, she’s immature, spiteful, cold, and strings along the SML when it benefits her which resulted in her marrying her fathers killer.. to me, she is one of the worst FL I’ve seen recently.
She brought all the resentment the ML had towards her herself, she wants to lie, be deceitful and blame someone who had did not a damn thing wrong except have love for her then she can carry the consequences of her choices. Honestly, I don’t think she ever truly loved him with the way she acted.
I don’t feel any sort of sympathy towards her; the ML had every right to say hurtful things so the one I see out of the two as “abusive” (if people want to use that term) is the FL.
The ML deserved someone better and I wished the writers gave him that so the FL can live in regret; the ending really was a disappointment, gave the viewers hope that they’ll get back together all the while I was secretly waiting for him to have someone else by his side.
Take: It’s a okay show, is it something I would come back to to rewatch like I do with some of the other c/k/t-dramas.. no however if you are wanting to pass the time in between series this will make a good time killer but I will say the FL will get your nerves.
