History Of Isfahan

- Isfahan, the historic city in Iran, is a great example of a city that has experienced the ebb and flow of history. Its story is filled with both peaks and valleys; from being pillaged and destroyed by the Mongols and Timur to being the Safavid capital under Shah Abbas the Great when it was considered to be "half of the world”.

Is Isfahan the most historic Iranian city?
Ecbatana modern day Hamadan too has a special place.
Very true
@@rajeshbande1136 Yeah definitely
Yes. Did you know Nizam al Mulk is buried there?
@@jordanianchristian8387 Yup
I actually live in isfahan and it's one of the best cities of iran for tourists.
I can't wait until I visit Isfahan!
@@HikmaHistory you're always welcomed.
I love these city histories, I would love to see one for Tabriz, Aleppo, Mosul, Baghdad, Jerusalem, Samarkand, and many more

@Moha Scorpion dajjal is number 1 bullshit
@Moha Scorpion sounds like Hollywood movie
@Moha Scorpion Do you know theres no end to stupidity?? No I'm sure you dont and its very obvious! lol
@Moha Scorpion how about muslims who lived there?
Such a beautiful, storied city. A reminder that despite complete disaster, a city can be yet reborn anew.
Indeed!
i love iranis because my cast is gakhar kiyani' from kian and we live in pakstan to 1 thousand years we are sons of sultan gakhar shah kiani
I was there in 75...so long ago now. Lovely
Wow, during the Shah's time - that must've been incredible!
Good job
Thanks!
Nice examples of monumental public architecture, it must be a moving experience to walk around in that courtyard area
Can't wait to visit it irl!
wow such a great storyteller, this video is awesome!
I totally agree with you at the end of the video there.
Superb documentary - beautifully made a very informative. I've always wanted to visit Isfahan, and this inspires me even more . . . Thanks 🙏🏽
Great explanation at the end for knowing history so as to inform the present and future.
Lovely video, thank you from a new subby😎
Cheers, Sheila!
Hi thanks for video , i live in kashan near Isphahan, salut merci à toi je suis iranienne et j'habite à kachan près de d'isphahan . Je serais très contente de te voir
amazing video, everything on point! wow
Thanks!
One of my favorite history channels on YT!
Cool videos, always! :)
I appreciate that, thank you!
Fascinating. Great video.
Glad you enjoyed it
Thank you for this video
My pleasure!
Very interesting! In one of your videos you talked about how Iran lost the Caucasus, it would be very interesting to talk about the effects it had on Persia. What effect Abbas Mirza and Qajar emperors had on Iran (mostly their different views), the politics at that time and what lead to the constitutional revolution and what made it fail.
1906 Constitutional Revolution is a personal fave topic of mine within modern history so I'll deffo do a vid about that in the future, one that will take into account 19th century Qajar Persia as well!
One effect is it paved the way for the Dajjal to come out of Isfahan from among the Caucasian jews. My uneducated guess is he will come out some time between 2050 and 2060.
Enjoyed that - really good work. I would love to visit Isfahan, it looks beautiful.
Thanks Alfredo! Me too!
Beautiful ❤❤
Epic vid
Thanks!
👍 good video
Thanks!
Hi. I'd like to know where did you get the antique images. Thanks.
Nice video bro keep it up. Also make a video about Indian Inventions that inspired the golden age of abbassid kaliphate.
Isfahan is ancient city. It origin back to ssassanid era and it's name are ispahan and later modern persian language Isfahan.
And it's name come from medival persian language.

The place where dajjal will appear..!! A warning for the entire Muslim ummah..!
Oh Allah save us from the fitnah of dajjal. Amen
Dajjals are plural... they will come not only from Isfahan... but many of them will come from desert between syria and iraq...
Im not at any side but muslims will be at the wrong conclusion and confused if they only understand that Dajjal only come from Isfahan. In fact The prophet himself state that many of them...
well done . make a video about neyshabour in khorasan ! about khayyam and attar :)
Very underrated city in terms of its historical prominence!
@@HikmaHistory what do you think about qarmatians and siege of mecca ? :D its a sensitive topic
That moment when you understand PERSIAN name of the city before the author explaining it
Can you make a video about the Timurid Renaissance, please?
Literally added that to my schedule last week!
i want to know about Halap,Bursa, Vaspurakan, tabriz

I’m really looking forward to your next episode about the Fatimids
A series of videos about the Safavids would be great as well
@@TareekhTrekker Thanks, there will definitely be a Safavids series!
@@HikmaHistory
Awesome - can’t wait
As a Sunni myself - the Fatimids and Safavids are very much lost from our historical conscience
Beaultiful words in the end... except when you realized that the ones listening to those words will be among the millions that will die and not see the change of times.
Let's hope that's not the case
Can you make some videos about the albanians in Balkans under the Ottoman Empire?
The amount of prominent Albanians under the Ottomans is fascinating so perhaps in the future, yes...
Georgians and Armenians didn`t wind up in Isfahan on their own. They were deported by Iranian shahs. Shah Tahmasp I raided Georgia four times (1541-1554) and deported tens of thousands of Georgia to Iran. Shah Abbas I also raided Georgia four times (1614-1617) killing more than 130,000 Georgians and driving more than 200,000 into exile to various provinces of Iran. Shah Abbas I deported more than 300,000 Armenians from Julfa and settled them in one of the new districts of Isfahan and called it New Julfa.
Hikma History, I don't know whether you will reply to my question or not, but I am still asking. You have a British accent when speaking English, but at the same time you pronounce Arabic names, words very well. So, I was wondering, where are you from? How are you good at pronouncing both languages so well?
Obviously I am not him but from the way he pronounces the Persian phrases I am willing to bet he is from an Afghan family that now lives in the UK
Isfahan sounds like Aspahan or aspayan "Horsemen in Pashto 🧐
🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏👏👏👏👏👍
Less straight edge. I liked that part. “Chel sootoon palace” means 40-pillar palace. 🤣
Haha!
I’m Iranian so I have a question! Why did you omit ancient persons history of Isfahan! It’s legacy belongs to Iran! It was started by Zoroastrians, who btw, were not fire worshipers as you say! Thanks!
@علي ياسر get out of here!!!!🤣🤣🤣🤣
@علي ياسر Roman’s? Wtf are you babbling about? Roman’s have never been to Isfahan! The creator? You’re one of those weirdos who actually believes Islam is the truth??? 😂😂😂

what is the meaning of the word Isfahan except the city name?
Place of the army or armies
It comes from the word sepahan
How comes Arab bedouins conquer great empires? Any answers to this? Any video about this?
Islam, it wasn't the arabs, it was Islam. Look at arabs right now since they have chosen Arab nationalism over their religion
hmm, so why was it founded at all then?
Seems the Jews may have moved there after the dispersa, and it was a nice place with all those waterways, then trade would move on those waterways needing that military presence to protect it.
The heart of Iranian culture
Not only that... Persian Js even claim that their contribution to modern Iranian culture is more than Islam itself... it is reasonable since Isfahan also called as the heart of Iranian culture and there have never been happened prosecution in a form of expulsion or genocide to the Js population in Persia and this city...
It was destroyed 4 times in 500 years, mongols, Timurids, Afghans & Qajars all destroyed the city once.
I think I came from here
The seljuk wasn't the architects. They hired architects.
Would your story 🤔 be complete without mentioning the very controversial 'Saddam '
Yahudi, means Jews in sanskrit language. And surprisingly Jay means victory, in sanskrit.
Ahh interesting
Yahudi means jew in Persian language too.
Sanskrit adsorb that word from Persian languange...
Yes thats a nice observation, it can point out that indic and hebrew tribes interacted since ancient times
It all comes from hebrew and arabic yehudi in hebrew and yaudi in arabic
Isfahan, the compete opposite of a shithole like Pittsburgh.
This city is cursed
Why?
Oh I get it.
But it's not cursed.
Syria is truly cursed. No Muslim nation has faced such calamities than Syria and more is yet to come according to Hadiths.
Why "even" the Indians? India was next door to Iran!
70000 jews will follow dajjal from asfahan according to a hadith. May Allah protect and guide us.
@@betteringworldhe said the truth
@betteringworld No. The Islamic religion is a public matter and also private. Do not try to apply this seperationism from foreign ideologies onto Islam and other religions.
According to who? You just arbitrarily decided that to be the "ultimate law"
Isfahan should return to be a part of Afghanistan again!
Man... you people are delusional af. Jesus christ, not even the pan-Arabs and pan-Turks blind themselves to reality and history at these levels.
Why stop at Isfahan though, let us add Washington DC, Macca, Mascow and half of Europe to be part of Afghanistan since apparently they were part of Afghanistan since the times of Adam and Hava.
lol again??? It was never part of Afghanistan and those who are not daydreaming know that very well! Are you that delusional or just trolling? Theres no end to stupidity ha?
@@hadijalali9179 If it's up to these guys, they would claim that the planet Earth and half of Mars is part of Afghanistan. XD

Persians never prosecuted Js...
@علي ياسر as well as the city of the grandmother of Ali R.A.
@علي ياسر Sons of David.... King of The Jews in Exile... Persians welcomed the jews after they faced another exodus as Assyrians invade levant... Shah of Persia permitted them to go back to al Quds... yet some remained because they thought Cyrus as the choosen messiah....
@علي ياسر this city was built on its foundation... the Jews... as time goes by they earned the title of nobility in Persia... This city was built under their provision... to help the scattered population to find it's settled place in Persia...
