IRAN | 2500 Years Old City, Persepolis 🇮🇷

  • Iran is the heart of ancient history and the birth of many empires. Every city you go to in this country has so much to offer from a rich history. For the visual description - The Persian Empire was huge and extended from Libya and the Black Sea to India and Central Asia and made other empires look tiny by comparison.
While being in Shiraz this ancient city called PERSEPOLIS ruins was a must-to-do. The first thing this place reminded me of was Petra in Jordan. But I was also surprised to find out Persepolis was 200 years older than Petra city and maybe the inspiration for Petra was coming from here somehow? Maybe.
For nearly two hundred years, Persepolis was the most magnificent and richest of cities, until its destruction by fire in Alexander of Macedonia’s invasion. While being there you can only imagine what these places used to be: all the ceremonies, nations bringing their king gifts, gatherings, and celebrations.
How much would it cost to visit a 2500-year-old historical site? The prices are so affordable in Iran that you pay only $3 for the entrance and roam around for 2-3 hours.
Did you know something like this exists?

The most important thing in Persepolis is that a few years ago there was a very strong flood in Shiraz, but surprisingly, the flood did not harm Persepolis and its sewage system, which was built 2500 years ago, worked perfectly

Hi dear davud, I’m really glad you have been in Iran and have visited my country. As Iranian who can speak your language (Turki), I ask you to search about ancient monument on the internet or at least read the sings and follow steps were written on the sings. You said you paid just 3$ for ticket which was cheap and why you didn’t pay for guide. There are guides there who can speak English very well. It would be better if you hired a tour guide to explain to you about those buildings and remaining structures. Unfortunately, you do know nothing where you have been. Persepolis is not only an important ancient monument for Iranians, but also an important worldwide monument. It was the capital of Achaemenid empire, the largest empire the world has ever seen in history. You lost your chance to visit Pasargadae which tomb of Cyrus the great and his remaining palaces were located there. He was the founder the Achaemenid dynasty whose nickname is king of kings. In addition, you didn’t visit “Naqsh-e Rostam” which is near Perspolis and I can say it is a part of it. A collection of ancient Iranian rock reliefs are cut into the face of the mountain and the mountain contains the final resting place of four Achaemenid kings notably king Darius the Great and his son, Xerxes. It contains various archeological sites carved into the rock wall through time for more than a millennium from the Elamites and Achaemenids to Sassanians dynasty.
Unfortunately, this city was destroyed and burned by order of Alexander in his invasion to Persia and now the local government don’t care about this site too.
** Please don't ever touch an ancient stone monument anywhere again because the oil on your skin will destroy it sooner. These places belong to next generations and we should try to keep it for them.
    Best wish for you

Probably they don't like repeating these things in his country though.
So let him believe he saw imoortant ancient rocks that Iranians see as important.

This is about 800 years older than Petra. And those columns were not put back up, but have stood there for twenty five centuries. They are special since they are the tallest ancient columns in the world (but the same size as the temple of Jupiter in Baalbek). none other is like them. It would be good of you to read ahead or time about the places your go to, even online, so that you know what you are visiting. visiting Persepolis is a life long privilege I traveled from US here to see it. You two sound so provincial and clueless in there!

You did a huge disservice to the most important historical site in Iran. All you had to do was read the informative signs at the entrance and learn a little about the place, its historical significance and its enormity. Also, there's a map of the entire site right at the entrance, in English, so you wouldn't look so lost and confused as you did.
As great as so many of your Iran videos have been, and I've thoroughly enjoyed them, when it came to the most important site in all of Iran, you definitely dropped the ball. You've spent way more time on lame mosques than you did on Persepolis, or as we Iranians call it, Takhteh Jamshid.

It was a great civilization... The Persian Civilization , a great Empire extending from Greece to Azerbaijan... The Birthplace of Zoroastrian, Annexed first by Alexander the Great & then by the Muslim invaders from Turkey... Who literally wiped up the Civilization & the Demography permanently.... Razed all the Zorastarian temples, Bloodbath followed large migration of Parsis who came to India with thier holy light from the hands of Barbarians and it still burns in the city of Navsari in Gujrat... The Zorarstarians bounced back & built great cities in India, Mumbai being one of them... Alas thier population is just 1lakh in the world.... What a fall of a Great Empire😢

🔴🔵🟢 Azerbaijanis in Iran are Turks. They identify themselves as "Turks" and nothing else. Over the past millennium, the territory of today's “so-called” Iran was ruled by Turkic dynasties starting from the Ghaznavids, Seljuks, Timurids, Safavids, Nader Shah’s Afsharid dynasty, and ending with the Qajar’s. By the early 20th century, the Persian Pahlavi dynasty stole power from the Turks with the help of European powers, mainly Britain. Until that time there had never been a country called Iran. Since that day the Persian nationalists have been discriminating against Azerbaijani Turks and other minorities. Azerbaijani Turks in Iran are not a minority, but a majority. The Iranian current ayatollah mullah regime is systematically assimilating them. In most cases, the Persian neo-Nazis do not even recognize the Turkish identity of Azerbaijanis, calling them an Iranian fake "Azeri" minority just speaking Turkish or a hybrid mix of Iranians with Mongols. They openly insult the Turks, denying their ethnicity. This is the official state policy towards the Azerbaijani Turks in Iran. There are over 40 million Turks that live in Iran, but they don't even have the schools in Turkish language. The regime persecutes every Turk who demands a school or any other basic human right. The Persians are using the fanatical sect of Shia Islam to cover-up their ultra-nationalist pan-Farsist chauvinist agenda and oppress other ethnic groups. This ideology has nothing to do with the religion of Islam, but they call the state an Islamic republic. Iran is not an Islamic republic, but a Persian national kleptocracy. They actively promote the Persian neo-Nazi ideology of Aryan race supremacy.
▫Just read the comments below and make sure everything I wrote is true.

The dynasties you mentioned were not completely Turkish, and secondly, the whole world accepts them as Iranian kings. When people like you attribute everything to the Turks, they are not pan-Turkism, but when they say the scientific, historical, genetic truth, they are pan-farcists? You are the real nationalist racists

Dude, the fact that all these rulers were the kings of Iran must tell you somethig about how azerbaijan is Iran.
If any of those Turkic speaking rulers had a different sense of nationality other than Iranian, then they would have changed the name of Iran into Azerbaijan or Turkey or something.
The Grandsons of these same rulers you mention are still Iranian and they can be found in Iran and all over the Iranian diaspora, they are proudly Iranian Azeris.
Also, even the wife of Reza Shah was an Azeri, the last shah of Iran was hence also half Azeri, even the current leader is an ethnic Azeri.
Iran is not an ethno-state like little brainwashed azerbaijan is, it's thus very hard for your kin to understand how something like this can exist.
These fanatical shias you talk about were forcefully converted by ethnicly Azerbaijani Safavids if you cared to know, and not by Persians. IF you care to know.
The chauvinist fascists ultra nationalists are the Turks on the other hand which have a clear expansionist rhetoric from west in Greece to Iran and central asia to southern ukraine.. Pretty much to all directions..
And btw talking about oppression talk about your "brothers" in Turkey that had until very recently even banned Kurds from speaking their language.

The state of Iran never existed until the Persian Pahlavi dynasty came to power in 1925. The Persians had their own states in history. These were the Achaemenid dynasty, the Sassanid dynasty, etc., but they were before the Turkic dynasties in today's Iran map, but even they never called those states as Iran. Today's Iran is a fake state.
