- Easy Card Magic for Beginners with 5 tricks using an ordinary pack of cards. The Si Stebbins stack is an ingenious mathematical method of arranging cards to allow numerous magic tricks.
Dong gives a great explanation
Here are a collection of five simple to perform and easy to learn tricks you can show friends and family with no skills required.
They are fun to learn and fun to do.
This one's an all-time classic that honestly does let you guess where any chosen card is in the deck or what card is chosen.
To clarify, the deck is arranged in CHaSeD order: Clubs, Hearts, Spades, Diamonds and each card increases by a value of 3. I have a few other videos based around this principle
Instructions for the Tricks:
Trick Number 3.
This is where the cards reveal the chosen card. We forgot to reveal the secret to this, although it is self working the spelling of the cards is slightly different. If the card is a red card then proceed as in the video, however, if its a Black card, then to determine the suit spell it as: CLUBS AND SPADES.

Excellent! 2 tutorials in 1!How to count to five and 5 different variations of the Situation Stebbins stack! Awesome tutorial again cheers!
Nicely done, now let's go make some bets and win some money!
How to do 3rd tricks , when black card is chosen
Nice
Is the chosen card in Trick #3 really a free choice? It works fine if a red card is chosen, but I've tried it using a black card and it doesn't work. "Spade or Club" is only 11 letters and you need to get to the 14th card for the trick to work. Have you figured out a work-around for this? If not then you would have to force a red card on the participant.
Problem solved: replace the word "or" with a 5-letter word like "maybe". As in "your card is a Club...maybe a Spade". This gives you the 14 letters you need to perform the trick if a black card is chosen.
Hi I apologise for the missing explanation in the video... it was cut out by mistake. I've just found it! You are correct it does need 14 cards. The missing explanation is that when a black card is chosen, you ALWAYS spell it as "Clubs or Spades" (note the S on the end of each word), and then deal the very next card to reveal the suit. Hope that helps. However, your way is good too.
@@totallymagic Sounds good. Thanks.
I have a question in regards to the one that you spelled. Spelling "RED OR BLACK" the "K" is the 10th will be the color sine Si Stebbins stack is red-black alternating. If it is red you spell the singular version of "HEART OR DIAMOND" (14 letters) now the 2nd "D" is the 24th position and every 4th card in the Si Stebbins is the same suit. But if the 10th card was black? Even if you spell the plural of "CLUBS OR SPADES" that is only get you to the 23rd position. You'll be off a card. How do you handle that predicament?
Hi Kevin, Can you just confirm I understand you correctly. I have tried what you said, and once the chosen card, in my case, 6 Hearts, was placed down, spelling out RED OR BLACK arrives at 10 D and not the King as you say. Am I mis-understanding you? As long as the deck is cut at the point that the card is chosen from, the rest should work automatically. Thanks
@@totallymagic Red card is not the issue, since "red or black" is 10 letters and Si Stebbins alternates red, black. The issue is if on the 10th card is Black. When you spell "clubs or spades" you will only be on the 23rd position, which will not match the suit.
@@sieveman Hi Kevin, I now understand the issue with the black cards, which I thought I filmed that, but like an idiot I didn't!!! I've included in the Description what to do if the card is a black card... you spell Clubs AND Spades. Sorry for my oversight, must be my age!!!!!! Thanks for pointing it out.
Great variation routines of si-stebbin stack,
Some really good tricks, especially for beginners. I cannot wait to practice them, remember how it's done, and then do them with family and friends.
I love the Si Stebbins stack. Another trick that you can do with the Stebbins stack is to know exactly how many cards you're holding. Let's say you tell the spectator to cut anywhere in the deck. By just holding the stack that they cut to, because you're a magician, you can tell exactly how many cards are in that stack just by the size of it. Or you can cut the stack yourself and say that you've cut to a certain amount of cards because you're that good. 😁
Yes I love that one too, I forgot how good that one is. Should have included that too. Thanks for reminding me.
How exactly is this one done? Also, I don't understand how the one is done where a spectator chooses 4 cards and I guess what they are.
Great si steppins trick …👍 …should the chosen stack card always go to top ..?
Five great tricks with a stacking system.👍😊👍
Better SS routine that I do. Guess who is going to steal these ideas?
I really like your stuff
I love learning new tricks with the Si Stebbins stack. I know a few tricks with this, now I know 5 more. I really liked the "Spelling" one. I do know two tricks where you spell to reveal the card(s). My go-to on is what I heard is called "4 questions, 2 cards" (4Q2C). Thank you for 5 more in my arsenal.
Yes I like that variation too. There are numerous counting and spelling tricks suitable for this stack which is why I always have a deck of cards stored in the drawer as the Si Stebbins order. It's always the deck with elastic bands around!!! Thanks for your kind words too.
Great video. Thanks. I had seen you Can tell where the selected s number in deck. Can you tell that
Very, very nice. I actually knew a few Si Stebbins Stack tricks, but some of these are new to me.
Great video's. And a big thank you :)

It'ssssssss amazing
Good tricks, but your showing the red & blacks in some of the si stabbing stack tricks. People will realise that there are red & black all the way through the deck.
For the first trick, you didnt use a key card. How did you immediatley know what card they chose?
If you watch closely when the card is taken, I cut the pack at that point and glimpse the bottom card. As the Si Stebbins stack goes up in 3s and has the CHaSeD suit order I can tell the card immediately. Hope that helps.
Great misdirection in trick number 3 . My preference if black colour is chosen is: Must find the suit next spell : ‘Is a Club or Spade’ to land on correct card.
The trick appears on a recent video "tricks to do at Christmas", and I do explain the method better than I did on here. But I like the way your Is a Club or Spade works too. Cheers
@@totallymagic S-A-Y C-L-U-B O-R S-P-A-D-E seems more natural to me than all the above alternatives and is grammatical as well. BTW I missed your explanation for how Four, One by One works. Was it in there somewhere?
but how do you do them? xD
