I believe in you Thens, no matter how long it takes I will be there on the day your Northern Limit comes to fruition, and no matter what it is it'll be worth a play just to see someone who cares about this game interpreting it.
On a more serious note though, thanks to both of you. Exploring cut content is always a fascinating experience into the thought process and workings behind the scene, and to have someone with as intimate knowledge of this particular topic as Thens is a great listen.
The Yeti's really look like the fire giant with that torso face... Makes me wonder if the mountaintops of the giants is FromSoft finally implementing the 6th arch stone, albeit in the Elden Ring open world style rather than the Demon's souls segmented level style
It's very possible. The northern frozen castle in Elden Ring definitely reminds me of the second stage of the 6th archstone, and some of the outdoor areas could be the first stage.
I think we've already seen the Northern Limit in one shape or another since FROM likes to reuse concepts. It's either one of the many snow areas we've gotten in the game. Probably Consecrated Snowfields or Ariandel
Hunter's Dream in the real world, Firelink Shrine but in the past, everything is a Demon's Souls idea. Demon's Souls is seriously the best, love it so much.
I still have the art book and orchestrated soundtrack from when I bought this game at launch on PS3. It's my second favorite memory with this game. My favorite memory- was being invaded by someone with a spear. I barely hurt the invader. But he was obsessed with poking me. He poked me until he finally just stopped moving. I was confused. It was in this moment I discovered my equipment was entirely broken, and I couldn't afford to repair it. May the warts on your pleasure parts forever burn. Nameless invader, circa 2009.

Since Fromsoft saves a lot of their work and reuses it, I've always thought that most of the 6th archstone's hypothetical content ended up in other From games. The snowy castle DLC in Souls 2 especially comes to mind. But also, think of the big optional areas in the other games: Souls 1 has the Painted World which is snowy. Bloodborne has Cainhurst which is snowy. Elden Ring has the Consecrated Snowfield. Chances are parts of the 6th archstone made it into all of these, maybe even multiple times over. I wouldn't be surprised if at this point they've used all of their ideas for it. If one wants to play something as close to the 6th as possible in one place, check out the Ivory King DLC of Souls 2 because I'm pretty sure that's the closest they've gotten to creating the zone as it would have been.

At 20:40 you talked about a broken nexus as the 3rd area for the Northern Limit and that got me messing around in DSMapstudio to recreate that idea. I'm planning on making a video in the near future!
