I bought the hyperflex BOA (blue on white); size 10 Wide! I really hope this is helpful for you and a lot of people! 1. I used the Adidas 360 boost (wide) for years; I never thought I would leave them, but, I did NOTICE how tired my feet were after walking 18, but I like the stability and the cleats were VERY good. The OLD footjoys IMO were NOT as well built and that is why I stuck with the Adidas! 2) I NEVER, EVER wanted the BOA system, and thought the tie system was just fine!and just thought the BOA was just a"look at me" thing! Well, I was VERY, VERY wrong! After I just tried them on( no on course testing) I could not believe it, I was STILL not going to get the BOA, and thought the hyperflex TIE would be just fine------ WRONG, VERY wrong! I walked around the golf story MANY times, trying to convince myself , I didn't NEED the BOA and it was too much money! I KEPT changing, BOA, then the TIE , same size same width! The difference for me was big and here are the details; 1. the TIE feel was VERY good and the stretch fabric just LET my feet settle the WAY the wanted to-- really nice -- I thought this was it! 2. The BOA-- the same GREAT soft feel and letting my foot settle the way they naturally set into the shoe!! ********* BUT-- as I walked in the store, I noticed the BOA OVER LAP, was in a PERFECT spot, the LACES still had a tie down effect that did NOT let my foot feel as RELAXED as the BOA, What I learned: I was SO USED to the TIE system, I DIDN'T know how constricting it was at points that restricted a LOT of my foot---- this BOA system felt VERY FREEING! The laces on ALL shoes and golf shoes, , specifically the LOWER laces-- do STILL pull your feet tighter together-- at a LOWER point in the shoe! The BOA-- does NOT, WHERE and HOW it is place, was a--- BIG--- difference! and I could not believe I was going to buy these, but I DID, and the tightening was in a higher WELL PLACED area, that STILL gave - PLENTY of stability, it just FELT --- like it was ALL in the RIGHT PLACES! This was from someone who used the basic LACE system my WHOLE golf playing life!!!! Even the hyperflex TIE was not quite as good as the BOA, but the STRETCH fabric really helped! NEXT; I took them on the RANGE; SO easy to slip on and EASY to tighten and loosening was even EASIER( hard to imagine , but true!) I had a LONG range session 150 balls, short game and putting, practice; the STABILITY was excellent, but this TIME----- NOT CLUNKY and the hypeflex, just let my feet relax and move at the pressure points that used to make my feet tired and glad to be out of my golf shoes( remember-- I STILL have my adidas 360 boost-- and WELL broken in after years of playing in them!!!) I DID switch out of the hyperflex for 30 shots on the range to the adidas---- and the STRUCTURE of ta adidas was NOW MORE evident, as -- clunky and too stiff a platform! The hyperflex was VERY good structure, but in the RIGHT places, and relaxing, especially across the lower part ( where the LOWER laces of the adidas were)! Then ----I PLAYED ----a round in the BOA, I had a 40 minute small bucket range warm up and short game practice----- walked a LONG course with VARIOUS GOOD size changes in terrain! I was so comfortable and at the end my feet felt just so good( not at all like my 360 boost) This was a something I never intended to buy; NOW I WON'T GO BACK -- I even bought ANOTHER pair! A couple of thing that could show up as negatives later--- WILL the stretch fabric HOLD UP for a long time( these are expensive and NEED to LAST, to be worth it!)??? ***this is the ONE negative --- the CLEATS in my adidas 360 boost ---- were MUCH more sturdy, I will watch to see how long these last! Some one might wonder about water or dampness--- Footjoy GUARANTEES them for 2 years, BUT --- I did check and you can use Scotch guard on them -- so that should not be an issue! I know this was long, but I think it needed to hopefully give a clear review! This IS NOT meant to be an advertisement for footjoy-- it s JUST WHAT HAPPENED!
Nice vid, I can understand you are obviously over bending the show, but at 2:20 in the vid, the sole shows to be kinda tearing away from the sole.. how durable is the shoe. Because the sole looks glued to the upper also

Love your honest comments. I'm a Pro SL guy too. Was contemplating whether to switch to this hyperflex. Seems i'll stick to the Pro SL too

Hi Kieran - it is glued to the upper but the bend is coming from the opti flex so it does bend back. Id be surprised if it came away.
