As for rouded edges, the beads must not be rounded or semi round sided, or else the outcome wont be as flat as it shoud be.
I once tried to make a full circle beaded bag with round crystal beads (the seller named it as lantern shaped) but yeah, instead of getting a flat finish it's wavy.
