    I have a question: sometimes, it feels like you prefer to go for "double side slash, slash, double side slash" rather than "slash, slash, slash, triple side slash" (at 1:42 and 4:12, and in other videos I think)
    Is there a reason for that damage-wise or timing wise?

      Great observation! In terms of damage I'm sure these to versions are VERY similar so usually it is a timing thing or just me not thinking about it too much honestly! Usually I try to time it though to be able to react once the monster gets back up.

      Oh I see thank you for the explanation! In a past video I remember that the "three slash, three side slash" combo was the best, but I might focus a bit too hard on trying to use it (and often end up hurt). If they are so similar I think I'll try using the double slash whenever I don't have a huge opening.

    Hey man, im kinda new to monster hunter and rushed through the main game beating it in about 60 hours, I really struggle in iceborne and i dont know much about abilities, status's, what switch axes to aim for aswell as armor, I just feel so stuck man. Im currently on fulgur anjanath using the dying light switch axe and the head and bracers from the shrieking legiana set, with some other random armor mixed in.

      Monster Hunter can be pretty overwheming at times, there are ton of mechanics, and Iceborne really is a jump in difficulty.
      If I may, I can try to help with your questions.
      1) abilities : I guess you mean Armor skills? Those are usually innate to armors, and usually you can add new skills by putting Decorations on your armor. There are a few skills that are quite important depending on your needs: Damage skills, which are the most sought after because a dead monster is a monster that can't kill you (attack boost, weakness exploit, critical eye, critical boost, Agitator, [elemental] attack...); defensive skills, especially when a monster deals a lot of damage (Defense boost, health boost, recovery rate, recovery plus, [elemental] resistance and [Status] resistance depending on the monster), evasion skills, to help you not getting hit, very important for switch axe (Evade window, evade extender) and the comfort skills, which can help a lot in general (For switchaxe, power prolonger will help you keep your buffs up, Handicraft/razor sharp/protective polish/speed sharpening to keep your sharpness up. There is also one skill I consider a must have : stun resistance 3). Depending on your needs, you can try slotting in different decorations and try different armors.
      2) The Shrieking legiana armor is not bad, but there are better options for a switch axe: Rathalos or Odogaron for damage, Nargacuga for evasion, or you can try mixing the sets a bit (for example: "Odo head, rath chest and arm and Narga waist and legs" will give you Weakness exploit and Evade window. You can also replace the hea and waist for Shrieking legiana armor for extender which might be easier to use)
      3) there are three types of "damage" in the game: Raw (the big number above sharpness, basically damage), element (fire, water, thunder, ice, dragon, each one deals different damage depending on the monster's weaknesses), and Status (which don't deal damage direclty, but will build up an invisible number to poison, paralyse, put to sleep or make a monster explode). There is also Affinity (which is critical chance). Better sharpness also means better damage and less chance to bounce (purple being the best, followed by white and blue). In Iceborne, usually Raw is the better option.
      4) your weapon is the Nergigante High rank axe, I am actually very impressed you made it this far with this weapon (especially against Barioth, which is usually a big wall). For you I really recommend Saber's bite 2 (Great Jagras axe). It has good damage, sharpness, decoration slots, and an exhaust phial (easy to get to Amped state and sword hits to the head can stun the monster)
      5) general advice, just in case: upgrade your armor to incrase your defense, eat meals at the hub before going on a hunt (get the one that gives the most health usually), use the Palico gadget that fits you the most. Don't forget to get the armor/power charms and talons in your inventory. And of course: no need to go fast, you can go slow and focus on not getting hit (you have 50 minutes, so no need to rush). The most important is to have fun.
      Hope that helps! Happy hunting!
      Edit: I forgot the most important: BloodyWyverian has some great videos for all skill levels! I always learn new tips and tricks.

    How do you keep track of the monster's enrage status and what items you have without the HUD?

    • @BloodyWyverian
      @BloodyWyverian  10 дней назад +2

      I can tell the monster's reage status because of agitator, when the message pops up that agitator has deactivated I need to enrage the monster again. Also by the steam coming of the monsters mouth. The only items I used in this fight are mega demon drug, demon powder, might seed and the sonic bombs to get Diablos out of the ground.
