Nickelodeon has officially unveiled the logo for THE SPONGEBOB MOVIE: SEARCH FOR SQUAREPANTS, which centers around the Flying Dutchman and the deepest depths of Bikini Bottom. What can we expect from SpongeBob's newest adventure on the big screen?

For anybody wondering how BIG Derek's impact on the show was, he was the Co-Writer for *THE* SPONGEBOB SQUAREPANTS THEME SONG we all know and love.. he has been there since before Spongebob even came to be.

@@Noahmediacorner Him too! I don't see C.H. Greenblatt returning however due to Nickelodeon screwing him over on Harvey Beaks. But I could see Drymon trying to lure him back to the show after directing the fourth movie.
And besides, Nickelodeon went through some management changes after C.H. Greenblatt's departure. (The president switch from Cyma Zaraghami to Brian Robbins for example)
The 2004 SpongeBob movie is the best one. Period.

With Derek Drymon on board, I have a feeling The SpongeBob Movie The search for Squarepants might be the second best SpongeBob Movie since The first movie.
(In my opinion I like all SpongeBob movies.)

4 movies were announced 2 years ago bruh. The sandy one along with the other two are spinoffs which will be released on streaming services while Search for SquarePants is Theatrical.

I wish they’d make a new 2D movie. The 3D was fun in sponge out of water with them transitioning in between, but it’s not great when everything’s animated 3D.
Yeah the 3D CGI is a bit ugly.
If done well it can work like the stylized look seen in Spider Verse, Bad Guys, and Puss in Boots 2 but yeah

Tom Kenny said he genuinely loves playing SpongeBob to this day, and has been mentally preparing himself for it to end since season 4 since he doesn’t want it to end
Idk about the rest but vail did make a vid about tom stating he'd never want to stop playing sb and both the actors for mrs puff and the dutchman are the current oldest and dutchman getting less episodes now over mrs puff before this movie they may be next out like how we already lost mm and bb with nick not currently getting replacements who knows how it'll go though i think the show will last til its 30th anniversary unless nick decides to go through the 2030s i can't imagine how the show will be without its ogs except already know how it feels if we lost clancy from the way some of the games were voiced without him it'd definitely go hard for the others after 25+yrs

Considering Derek Drymond know a lot of Spongebob's comedy, I actually have high expectations for this movie. I think Derek could really steer this movie to the right direction. No more out-of-place, irrelevant, filler scenes with dolphin gods or talking tumbleweeds. Just all comedy and scenes that would actually fit right in the Spongebob universe
I actually think Bubbles and Keanu Reeves Tumbleweed were the best parts of their respective movies. Otherwise I agree, the SpongeBob movies are at their best without any executive meddling. "Fighting the Flying Dutchman" sounds like a much more fitting story for SpongeBob than "going to the **real world** and becoming superheroes" and "summer camp babies and lol random zombie cowboy pirates!!"

Sonic Movie 3 is releasing December 2024, but Search for Squarepants is releasing December 2025.
