"Prototype" The game was a finished product, with microtransactions, and gameplay. Don't call it a prototype, Rovio, because it was obviously released to the public.
why is everyone suddenly forgetting about concept artist. they’re not a small company, its not like they cant hire someone to come up w ideas instead of placing an ai do to their job.
@AviTwesvii that's fair but they don't need to super transparent about everything. They did say it is just a prototype and it doesn't make sense that they would need to be transparent about that especially when they're training their own ai with their own art library.
I think he was referring to the use of the images rather than the use of ai art in general since its a prototype, so what i understood from it, yes tell us you’re using ai, no don’t use it for actual games.
@@c4t610 That makes sense. I think using ai is great for brainstorming but it shouldn't be used for advertisement or final product. I think it's nice that they also developed their own ai trained on their own library of artwork too.
thats understandable tbh it costs alot to make promo art and when your testing a games concept with an already small budget that art will take a good percentage of funds and they even said theyd replace it when there out of prototype so whats the big deal anymore i wish people viewed ai as a tool and not a villian cause ai isnt the bad entity making all these things happen its like saying a gun murders people and not the wielder of the gun that pulled the trigger
i think mcdonalds also udes ai art on their restaurants, or maybe not. in Mcdonalds (or at least on the one is close to my location) there are like these poster about a roblox game or something using these Mcdonald workers in anime style. since the style of the ad is kinda ai like I don't really know. idk if anybody else has talked about this.
Here's my point in all this, but I know it might piss off some people: I don't mind Rovio using AI to prototype the game, but the problem is that they should've made it CLEAR with everyone that the game was still in early access. If this game was branded as being in early access, that would've solved SO MANY problems Rovio could've had with marketing and making the game, because if the players are aware of what's made with AI, and that it's all subject to change, nobody would've complained. I don't mind creators using AI to assist in asset development, I really don't understand why people hate AI for exising so much, but the point is that Rovio was using AI in the way they should, but should've made it clear to people playing the game that the assets were temporary.
Agreed, using AI for concepts and ideas is fine, and I think some people need to realize that. Especially since AI isn't leaving any time soon. But I also agree with some people's arguments with how AI is being used right now.
@@so12productions Understandable. People have been using AI in shitty ways, I can't deny that, but I don't think it's an excuse to hate AI as a whole. Yes, we should stop people from using AI in shitty ways, but AI does have it's benefits as well. But this is as far as I'll go on this matter, cuz I don't want a war in the replies.
I can probably see the use of AI art for like- temporary thumbnails for the game as it develops Because I don't think artists would want to redraw every new concept, but again that's a bit of a controversial statement-
I think it would’ve been fine if it was a mistake that it got out, because I think that early stage prototype stuff is some of the only things that AI images should be used for. However, they put it out for the world to see, which I don’t think was a good thing. I do hope that Rovio learn from this, and I’m also glad that they only trained it on their own stuff
Uh, I dont think they have enough art internally even to train an AI. They are likely using a base model which has been pre trained unethically and only fine tuning with rovio art (if at all).
@anon6383 Angry birds came out in 2009, and has over 140 projects under their belt. Im sure they have plenty of art to feed it. And again, you obviously dont know for sure and are reaching.
@@zerik_media haha buddy sure i am the one reaching. Do you have any idea about the monetary costs to train a model from scratch. If they had that much cash, they could have just hired an artist you know.
I mean... what's the matter? If the AI is built internally and trained on their own work, why is it so bad that they used it for a prototype? The wrong details are just wrong details that most people won't notice nor care about.
This is technically what AI is meant for, its meant for prototyping and concepts but not as a final product, Its fine that they are using it for speeding up concepts, btu they should really be getting people to remake and clean the images properly before beta if this is the direction they are going. It's just like the guy that said "The graphics are the first thing a game finishes, controls and missions are done later".
Rovio: 'Damn, fans didn't like that, we should change this and be more cautious..' Rovio after taking 80% of all angry bird games off the app store: 'Damn, fans didn't like that, oh well.'

I mean im an artist and hate a.i. but if they only use it for prototypes or beta builds and its only based off of their own art and products it is fine. its not going to be used for the final product. if it is used for the final product then ill be pissed. but something like this I feel like is fine.
It's their game, and they have the creative freedom to develop it however they choose. If it's not to your liking, you can simply choose not to play it. its literally just an ai photo, you are being a content farm rn. In this case, the AI-generated photo is just a part of their artistic vision, and there's nothing inherently wrong with that.

The game was a finished product, with microtransactions, and gameplay. Don't call it a prototype, Rovio, because it was obviously released to the public.
Man, and here I am playing the old games with APKs on my Android phone... Apparently I haven't missed much.
It was a prototype. A freaking prototype. We got trolled so hard.
I guess crude drawings would work better for a prototype. I mean, the 7DRL build of Dicey Dungeons looked different.
they thought they wasn't getting caught.

I remember when the Angry Birds games had some passion put into them. I miss those days. 😞
Well, this can’t be good
It can be good.
I miss when Angry Birds was on the App Store. I played it on my old iPhone 5 and iPad Mini 2
“They’ll probably be more cautious moving forward…”
Meaning they’ll do it again, but make sure they won’t get caught. 🤦🏾♂️
That is what I was thinking. That they would just make the AI images ✨better✨ 😕
@@bluej.studios4523That's a good thing.
...Imma wait until Rovio themselves says they'll be more cautious moving forward to say that
why is everyone suddenly forgetting about concept artist. they’re not a small company, its not like they cant hire someone to come up w ideas instead of placing an ai do to their job.
at least old chuck is back (he appeared in the first cutscenes in the first angry birds game
0:55 Which Angry Birds game is that commercial playing in the background?
The only reason AI art was bad was because it was stealing art from others. Without that issue, theres literally nothing wrong with using it.

who the hell cares
0:35 bro sounded like a shulker 💀💀
2:45 so you'd rather they not be transparent with their fans???
I'd rather them be transparent about it from the beginning, not just when they get backlash for doing something profoundly shitty
@AviTwesvii that's fair but they don't need to super transparent about everything. They did say it is just a prototype and it doesn't make sense that they would need to be transparent about that especially when they're training their own ai with their own art library.
@@AviTwesviiWhy would they need to be transparent on a non issue?
I think he was referring to the use of the images rather than the use of ai art in general since its a prototype, so what i understood from it, yes tell us you’re using ai, no don’t use it for actual games.
@@c4t610 That makes sense. I think using ai is great for brainstorming but it shouldn't be used for advertisement or final product. I think it's nice that they also developed their own ai trained on their own library of artwork too.
Damn it's sad to see one of my childhood nostalgic classics fumble so hard 🙁
Idk why yall are still angry at them, they just apologized and said they will do better and thanked you guys for holding them up to high standarts
thats understandable tbh it costs alot to make promo art and when your testing a games concept with an already small budget that art will take a good percentage of funds and they even said theyd replace it when there out of prototype so whats the big deal anymore i wish people viewed ai as a tool and not a villian cause ai isnt the bad entity making all these things happen its like saying a gun murders people and not the wielder of the gun that pulled the trigger
AI in prototypes? Then don't release the game before it's complete!
Well said.
I mean, many people bought Scarlet and Violet, an unfinished game...
@@iToonNetworkOffical Your logic is flawed because the ai part is temporary.
@@gryphonphillips5669 "AI in prototypes?" I never said "AI in the full game?"

i think mcdonalds also udes ai art on their restaurants, or maybe not.
in Mcdonalds (or at least on the one is close to my location) there are like these poster about a roblox game or something using these Mcdonald workers in anime style. since the style of the ad is kinda ai like I don't really know. idk if anybody else has talked about this.
Exactly on the part, "I really don’t understand why people hate AI for existing so much."

Agreed, using AI for concepts and ideas is fine, and I think some people need to realize that. Especially since AI isn't leaving any time soon.
But I also agree with some people's arguments with how AI is being used right now.
They are a company, and should be paying artists, even for prototypes and ideas.
I can probably see the use of AI art for like- temporary thumbnails for the game as it develops
Because I don't think artists would want to redraw every new concept, but again that's a bit of a controversial statement-
How long before Rovio’s CEO brings out their Ukulele?
I don't know.
But why would They have a ukulele?

I think it would’ve been fine if it was a mistake that it got out, because I think that early stage prototype stuff is some of the only things that AI images should be used for. However, they put it out for the world to see, which I don’t think was a good thing. I do hope that Rovio learn from this, and I’m also glad that they only trained it on their own stuff
I think you're nitpicking beyond belief. If it's their ai, being trained in art they feed it, it's absolutely fine, both morally and legally.
Didn’t even fix the artifacts. They actually don’t care. 🤦♂️
At least they admit it. Some just ignore about it.
I mean... what's the matter? If the AI is built internally and trained on their own work, why is it so bad that they used it for a prototype? The wrong details are just wrong details that most people won't notice nor care about.
Another "AI bad because AI bad" video. At least I now know to avoid any of your future videos with the word "AI" in it
This is technically what AI is meant for, its meant for prototyping and concepts but not as a final product, Its fine that they are using it for speeding up concepts, btu they should really be getting people to remake and clean the images properly before beta if this is the direction they are going. It's just like the guy that said "The graphics are the first thing a game finishes, controls and missions are done later".
Good news, guys!
The game got delisted. :)
Nice, no more angry bird microtransactions
If you guys really hate Rovio that much, then how come you're still playing what the Angry Bird franchise has to offer?
0:36 Vailskibum barf is giving me a laugh.
Rovio, please just do Angry Birds 3 for God's sake...
Rovio: 'Damn, fans didn't like that, we should change this and be more cautious..'
Rovio after taking 80% of all angry bird games off the app store: 'Damn, fans didn't like that, oh well.'
Why do you care if a prototype or promotional art is made with AI art? You'd also complain if they asked people to draw for them for free. Using AI for prototypes before hiring someone to make the real product sounds like a completely normal and fine thing to me.
Besides, even if they are lying, what's wrong with using AI for a promotional picture? The fact that it's AI? How is that bad? Because it's AI? Endless loop with no real explanation other than unjustified anger.
I mean im an artist and hate a.i. but if they only use it for prototypes or beta builds and its only based off of their own art and products it is fine. its not going to be used for the final product. if it is used for the final product then ill be pissed. but something like this I feel like is fine.
I don't have a problem with Ai art
*But!*
