I am as well, I have a holosun 510c red dot and I’ve beat the crap out of this optic for the past 3 years I’ve had it and it’s always pinpoint accurite when I need that 200 yard coyote or something! I know people harp on holosun but I’d like to see a Trex arms durability test done on it. Like I said mine has been literally thrown from a vehicle on a rifle many times and endured falls and impacts . Only bad thing is open emitter but cmon Trex arms, the poors need to be satisfied 😂👍🏻

I obtained a prototype holosun rifle optic in 2020 for review but it never got released to the public because of the coof. Essentially its a 515GT-RD but with a screw-on battery cap instead of the tray that holds the battery with those two tiny torx screws. I broke one on a 6.5lb AR10 from the bolt slamming forward too hard and holosun gave me another prototype replacement. Both serial numbers are under 100.
Edit: I've pushed this optic and a HM3X magnifier to 500yds no issues.

For the money they seem good. I have several, mostly the rotary knob ones. I have one original push button version, and the new push button version. The turrets on the rotary and new push button are better than holosons. I have had issues with the holosun turrets. The detent gets screwed up and it becomes hard to turn. The primary arms have more relflection when looking towards the sun than the holosuns I've used.

no offence but in my opinion, the red dot testing was redundant they are all top dollar, top of the line, name brand optics. There is nothing that you can do to those optics, that has not already been done. I would have been more impressed if y'all were to test, no name, budget optics priced $149. and lower. Gees give some of the smaller optics companies a chance, considering 99.98% of all optics are foreign made anyway, who care if it were made in China, Taiwan Japan Germany etc which "all' of them are using China parts anyway. There are "No" 100% USA made optics.

I know they aren't "mAdE iN aMeRiCa" but coming from someone who carry's a firearm everyday for a big agency and understands the tool and its purpose, i'll take an Holosun everyday. And yes, Trijicon was the industry standard at ONE POINT but we all know they're playing catch up (red dot pistol optics). Give me the best product, no matter if it was made in American or China. The guy on a felony stop at 3 A.M. doesn't care if your optic is made in America...Make sure your dot works when you need it and you make it home to your family.

Holosun is a great option for most. If you have the budget to spend more, PLEASE do so. But don't make it seem like because they're made in China they suck...

They really try and focus on US made products. I have two Holosun optics and they have been awesome. I know more people that have issues with US made optics than Holosun products. I like my US made stuff but when you get down to it, its an aluminum housing that has a little red light inside. Its not exactly a rocket ship we are talking about. I cant stomach paying $1000 for a T2 when a $350 Holosun will do the same thing and be just as reliable (in my experience). I also own EoTech optics as well and they are great, but if it ever dies I am not confident I would spend the extra money on one again.

@@acidtalons u know nothing about optics lol. Price doesn’t mean anything. Also holosun doesn’t even have a 150$ optic lol. They are also one of the best ones u can get for the money and even better than a lot of more expensive ones. That’s y he said this is a whole different video in its own. Do ur research. Watch videos on holosun optics compared to other optics and see how good they compare and even beat higher priced optics. Also they have features that more expensive optics don’t have. The Vortex Huey's base is where the tracking adjustment happens and it has rough anodizing and gets grit in it and drags coming back to the right unless you keep it clean and even lubed. I had the same problem with my Elcan with a similar adjustment system. Since I greased the contact points on my Huey's base (tracking carriage?) it no longer has a weird inconsistent RH tracking adjustment.

the fact that he is ex military his opinion would even more valid. something i notice about red dots, that it will be more effective if the optic is smaller. since i feel that you arent suppose to peek into the optic, but you need to treat it like an iron sight. so those red dots with narrow tunnel sight is the most effective in my opinion. all you need to do is place that narrow hole peek/window on the target in the distance. you dont even need to pay too much attention to the red dot indicator itself. and using the hole as an ironsight-like alignment. because with the bigger peek like the EXPS, you would only get distracted by how the red dot could move around (parallax) in the middle of the frame(something most video gamers dont know ). so those narrow smaller pipe/scope/tunnel reddots are the better more effective ones.
