    INSTANTLY subscribed when i heard you mention the ACTUAL reason why ford put a mediocre transmission in this amazing car. i was in the automotive engineering world, and i guarantee that the only way ford was able to release such an outatanding, well engineered engine for a decent overall price, is because everywhere except for the engine was a cost cutting area. the folks that push their car hard enough to find the problems with the stock trans, are the guys that were going to replace/build the trans anyway!

    All Mustang Sheeple " Wake up " It's Not the Clutch , It's Not the Shifter , It's Not the Transmission, It's NOT ANYTHING YOU BEEN TOLD for over 10 years 🤡
    " ITS THE CLUTCH ASSIST SPRING " That prevents the pressure plate from fully engaging, causing miss shifts in Any gear . Ford installed it to make pushing the pedal easier . It's behind the pedal , Pull that piece of Sh*t out, and I GUARANTEE you will never miss another Shift 🔥 and save over $1000 trying to fix the problem This had been a public service from " The Dude " 😎

    I installed an MGW race spec shifter on my '21 when it had 175 miles. At 250 miles I replaced the factory DCT Automatic transmission fluid with BG Syncro Shift 2 and 1 bottle of their Universal MGC friction modifier additive and whoah! The transmission is my favorite part on the car, it is amazing. Incredible, very precise and buttery smooth. I just bought a McLeod steel braided hydraulic clutch line that I need to install as well as a properly sized clutch slave to master cylinder hose from Wilwood (1/4'') inside diameter. The one from the factory, on brand new cars, is barely long enough to connect to the master cylinder to the clutch slave cylinder and allows air to enter the system. I can't imagine the car shifting any better than it does now, but I am sure it will after replacing the plastic hydraulic clutch line with a stainless steel one, and then a proper fitting hose between the master and clutch slave cylinder that will not allow air to be introduced into the system. I really have resolve knowing that part of the satisfaction of owning one of these cars is also knowing the right combination of parts to put on them, making them run their best.

    Just bought a 13 GT with an upgraded MT82 and spec stage 3. Runs good but the spec is simply too hard for the street so I'm going with exedy stage 2 which was recommended by the tech guy at beefcake. Much more friendly on the street he says. I think the spec is putting too much shock through the trans and I'm getting occasional noise from the synchros which has me scared I'll be spending cash on a rebuild soon. SUCKS. Spec stage 3 is absolutely miserable on stop and go. Impossible to have a smooth take off.

    I’ve got about 75k miles on my 2014 with the stock clutch/trans/shifter. I wonder if I could get by without doing the trans rebuild. No grinding issues, at least not yet. It would be nice to have a seamless experience when shifting at high rpm

    • @caseynaylor5564
      @caseynaylor5564 Год назад

      I wouldn't go for the rebuild if you aren't having issues. the clutch and shifter will definitely help. still, upgrading the internals of the trans will make for a better experience and more reliability. my approach with my 2014 has been to treat gear changes a bit more gently. its not a race car, id rather have a slightly slower shift and no damage. these rebuild/upgrades are expensive! I have the same shifter and clutch in mine and love them both. MGW is a top notch company. extremely high quality and the best customer service I have ever experienced. 👍

    In my opinion it is all in the clutch you really gotta kick that shit in at high rpm and youll still get a notchy shift you gotta have finesse im hoping a mcleod rst clutch and short throw shifter + syncroshift II trans fluid will make this trans more usable. Its definitely better since ive gotten used to it but i feel i can only push this car to 85% of what it can right now

  • @Toutvids

    If you got 100k out of the stock clutch you got plenty of life out of it. Clutches can go bad after 30k depending on if you live in a hot climate and beat on it.
    Most of the complaints are from people beating the crap out of their cars on the regular. If you just drive like a normal person and just get after it once in a while instead of slamming through the gears all day long... things will last a lot longer. If you want to race, then you need to upgrade to race spec, not stock. - 2014 Mustang GT owner.

    New to mustang and I have trouble from stop to 1st at lights and on hills ect... it makes a weird rattle noise when I get it somewhat right and other times when it give me trouble it won't accelerate and I have to try and milk the gas then it feels like it's going to stall and or die on me... its so bad I avoid hills now and get super anxiety when I have to come to a complete stop. I wish it would just shift smoothly from 0 to 1st no problems.. every other gear is fine on the highway no other issues for me just 0 to first... it smells kinda weird as well and makes a rattling noise when I go from 0 to first in town at about 2'500 - 3'500 rpms

    • @caseynaylor5564
      @caseynaylor5564 Год назад

      its possible that you may just need a clutch replacement. normal wear item. I replaced the clutch on my 2014 at around 75k miles as the third owner. when you say it won't accelerate it sounds like the clutch trying to grab but is slipping (this would create a smell as well). going from a stand still we tend to slip the clutch a bit more than like a 1-2 shift which I would think is why you are only having the problem in first. This would also make hill starts sketchy. I have the exedy clutch mentioned in the video and I've been very happy with it. I bought the kit off American muscle. good luck.

      Is it an aftermarket racing clutch? If it is, that is normal operation. Racing clutches aren't sprung with dampeners. You just have to learn where the catch points are and get better...

    The cure is bite the bullet and do a T56 magnum XL swap, Nothing you do to a MT82 that will make it comparable.
    I don't care if you get a stage 3 Calimer that has G-force gears, its still garbage.
    The shifts on a T56 is so nice without the dumb remote shifter.
    Changing to a remote reservoir solves when the clutch drops pressure because the stock one feeds off the break reservoir.

  • @DemocratsRDemons
    @DemocratsRDemons 6 месяцев назад

    I would think it would be just easier to swap it for a Tremec Magnum XL. Probably similar costs...
