Hello, New subscriber here. Found your video as I was looking for a way "modernize" some old MGM cartoons. Your method looks to be most simple way to do it and honestly, the results look waaay better than other methods I've seen so far. Thank you for a great video and for educating me on this. Your instructions were stripped down and very clear. Thanks again and merry Christmas!
Thank you! very very inspiring! I only have one problem, I'm logged into the FxFactory app, I press the download button of the elastic aspect, I see the download wheel spinning but then I can't find the plug in the download folder. How can I download it? 🙏
I would recommend using the 8:7 for anything pov due to 8:7 actually being the size of the new full sensor on the 11! Stretching it is the same concept you just have to squeeze the y-axis more in post. Or you can have the GoPro quik app reframe it how you like as well.
It doesn’t mess with the 4K resolution much my opinion. Maybe the edges a little bit but honestly if you are dropping a 4K clip into a 1080p timeline the resolution will be rock solid.
@@CorbinBlanton I neither saw problems yet, but the material I used did not have sharp stuff on the edges. I'm using 4K timeline and exporting 4K, that's why I asked.
I have always used the 4:3 because it has less noise compared to 16:9 on the GoPro 8 but it is limited to 30fps. I'm curious how high does the 4:3 go on the new GoPro 10?

Hey! Really like the content your putting out, very helpful. Did you create your own intro? I was thinking about updating mine, but I remember how much work it was to create this in after effects.
do i have the same ( same quality and content ) whether i shoot 16:09 ( gopro simply crops from 4:3 because sensor is 4:3) with gopro or shoot 4:3 and crop manually afterwards myself? thank you
Quality is better when shooting in 4:3 due to something called LTM or local tone mapping that’s available in certain modes such as 4:3. LTM is a process where details are brought out in the video so yes shooting 4:3 will have the same quality as 16:9 or better
I actually haven’t compared the 2 in awhile but if I remember correctly there’s less distortion and a higher resolution with 4:3 just because you are using the full sensor of the GoPro. Also theres more flexibility in post using 4:3. To be completely honest use whatever suites you best!
Yes you can! Just the amount you scale the Y-Axis to on your clip before adding the plug-in is different. I can’t remember what it is off the top of my head.

No it does not….to make things easier at first you should shoot everything in 16:9 especially if you don’t want to edit anything. Filming in 4:3 mode just allows you to get the highest quality possible out of the GoPro and give you the same 16:9 view but with more top and bottom.
bro I saw your video first time and after watching you only for 1 min , I am writing this comment that you are PRO, PRO PRO.

YES! NICE! Thanks for the info....
Of course!
Honest question. With the new 8x7 on the 11, would you recommend still using 4x3 due to it using the full sensor?

Where can we find Andy’s effect plugin? ( Especialy elastic effect:))
Download the FX Factory Application. Inside the application you can download Andy’s elastic aspect for free.

As far as I’m aware of this is only for Mac.

Great tutorial but, I'll stick with 16:9 from the start. Thanks and Happy New Year! 👍
Quick question! Why wouldn't I just use 16:9 superview? I tested the FOV and it is almost the same. Are there any other reasons to use this method?

Great video. Spatial is pronounced spay - shl. Cheers and thanks for the tips.
Haha thank you!
is there an equivalent for photoshop also?
I would guess yes, just check around on the web. I don’t know of any though as I don’t need to do much “stretching” with photos.

Nice. Thx
Would the affect work on premiere pro or Davinci?
Yes it would!
Yes I believe the effect works in both premiere and resolve.
does this actually gets you more fov than 16:9 suoerview?
It’s basically the exact same….really it’s just allowing you to have more flexibility in post as far as I understand

Do you recommend 4:3 for Facebook page?
4:3 unedited will actually work for social media platforms that are normally viewed with a phone or otherwise known as vertical video.
How about mobile users only
I think you may be able something inside the GoPro Quik App for 4:3 video otherwise you’ll have to just crop the video to fill the 16:9 frame.

Gopro 10 has only 4:3, 16:9 is not.
