I love these. I have to tell you a brief history of my junk journaling saga. When I first saw videos on the topic, I thought...I don't get it....and, that's not for me. Time passed....I watched your videos on junk journaling again....and was intrigued....then, it grew on me. Now, I'm hooked....but, here's the interesting part: I used to look at various types of items in my crafting space, and think....when do I ever use those items....or that punch...or those stamps? Now, I'm seeing the beauty of using all these in junk journaling....the fever has caught...I've really got it good. Thank you for opening my eyes to the very INCREDIBLE WORLD of junk journaling...you make it so much fun!!😃😃😃
I literally rescued a book yesterday. It was on the yellow lines of a fairly busy street. It had been there for a few days after having been rained on. The cover was off and the guts are in three sections. Now i have ideas to make things with it. ❤
This was so much fun. I did it along with you which made it easier to remember instead of my lazy self who watches and forgets immediately. Oh the possibilities!
Wonderful! I have some plans for these. Thanks Pam for your creativity. I accidentally folded it the opposite way, because I like the book page other side. So I have the yin and yang of this.
Oh funny girl! I've got over 200 of my parents books and paperbacks. And I'm loving tearing into them and using this. They are Carmel colored now and porous. Great for painting and stenciling look wonderful. Kisses to his majesty cub reporter. So adorable love that little guy.
When you use the stickers that have the problem of the backing not wanting to be removed, I find that if I bend the front down, if lifts off better every time so far with me.
Good morning everyone! I have many of these pockets and they are so quick and easy and so much fun to decorate! My kitty Milo decided that we needed to get up before daylight! Ha ha! ❤ to sweet Sunshine! Have a great day Pam!
Pam thanks for starting my day with this fun folded book page pocket!! I have to be in a hospital waiting room for a couple hours today and I’m taking my book pages with me!! Blessings from Betty in Ohio.
Oh these are great Pam, I made four with you but have not decorated them yet….later🤗 Also I saw someone put a piece of tape on the edge of a sticker to remove it from the backing! I tried it and it worked 👏🏼👏🏼
Good Morning, Pam & fellow Outpostians. I hope everyone's week is going amazing. 😊 I played with "kid's" watercolor crayons last night and i fell in love. I hate crayons (wax) as a general rule - love the smell, hate the sensation of touching it - or even using them. That said, I love the effects that water-soluble items can give. I was gifted this set of 32? 36? Watercolor crayons a while back (the package is a lidded cardboard cylander, like an oatmeal container but a heftier lid lol, and DEFINITELY marketed for kids use - these aren't likely light-fast). The crayons were, i was happy to see, encased in plastic. Good thing, cus these supposedly act like oil pastels with finger-pressure. 😊 I haven't tested that technique yet. To be honest, it feels more like laying color with lipstick, but not as "crumbly". It was realllly smooth. I played on watercolor paper first (300gsm, had a semi-rough texture on one side, smoother on the other). A few things I discovered (at least with this "off-brand") - the color moves VERY easily and can be re-activated later (it's been between 12 and 24 hours now and I just reactivated some). I CANNOT say how "Artist/Professional" or even "Hobbiest-level" watercolor crayons act - I don't own any, nor do I have access to any. 😂 But... these are SO MUCH FUN. They are GREAT for quick watercolor effects (just wet it!). I made a bunch of little "nothings" - floraly, ombres, etc. I'm not sure exactly how I'll utilize these pieces (likely pockets, cus they're so stiff, lol)... but I did try one on a light brown paper... the WHITE CRAYON WORKED. Even after activating, it was clear it was there. 😮😊 The set I got has the usual (bright) colors - very vivid. But... also, the white, black, a light gray, a SILVER, and a GOLD. So... you can easily create muted tones or pastels... and add sparkle if you wish. Touching it (after water-activation & once dry - I forgot to test just the crayon on paper lol) won't transfer color - unless your fingers are damp/wet. I'm pondering testing a spray sealer on a few of these... But anyway, if you can grab watercolor crayons 🖍 for cheap or can "test" them out somewhere... I recommend it... I can say that they are super SUPER fun & easy. Art skills are NOT required. 😂 Now that I know how much fun they are, I'm more willing to pick up "artist-grade/professional-grade" watercolor crayons (if I ever find them at a price I'm able to pay). 😂 You know, the ones that are light-fast, etc.
As always I love your videos. This question is for everyone. Am I the only one that talks to Pam out loud when she is creating? I know that probably sounds weird but I am hoping others do it and I am not crazy 😜
I loved these hidden pocket ideas, thank you. I looked up Sand Hill Cranes, I was Familiar with the term Sand Hill Plums. The cranes are quite beautiful and as I read on article said they are tasty to eat, oh dear. Not knowing if this is in your area but in certain areas they are illegal to feed because as they get used to humans they might hang out there all the time! 😮
This is great. I have now collected a number of books, that I need to do something with. I think this is a perfect little project! Pam you are the best!!
What a fun little project! I get a bit tired of the butterfly theme in the crafty world, but I love the “field notes” look of the last piece you made, butterflies and all! Thanks, Roberta❤
Put a piece of scotch tape on the front of the sticker and one on the back paper pull and the sticker releases like magic. Just be sure not to cover the sticker too much.
I was truly inspired and shared them on my video tonight. I sincerely planned to give paper outpost a plug but I think I forgot. I need to edit my default description to have a list of channels that I frequently watch. I can’t to get my fabric bundle for further inspiration. I’m in Idaho so hoping it will be soon. Blessings! @theresaconway-hayes
I love how watching your videos is like crafting with a friend. 🙂
