Miyazaki's a very underrated anime composer. His score perfectly captures the suspense and excitement of a Pokemon battle (no pun intended).
Miyazaki is a god damn genius...all of his pokemon work is amazing, specially the movies
to this day i firmly believe Pokemon has one of the most underappreciated OST in the anime world

First Episode I heard this was Pokemon Shipwreck during the Gyrados rage then Island of Giant Pokemon Pikachu and Meowth all being chased before Pokemon Scent Sation when the gym went up in flames
I don't think there's any gen 1 music that this song mimics. It's really unique and I appreciate that. I would love to see a song in an official Pokemon game that mimics this.

Man I wish 4Kids were here to do this instead stupid TPCI ruined everything, yeah I know people complained 4Kids a lot usually with editing stuff that inappropriate in shows in Japan. But 4Kids for Pokémon always the best that kept most Japanese Music than TPCi. I only wish someone can get 4Kids back. Also 4Kids worked so hard with Pokémon and caring about it and it just isn’t same from now that they don’t have jukebox music in the ending anymore in Pokémon.

I agree with you, I feel similarly, don't worry- it isn't just you. This is a piece of OST 4Kids kept in all 8 years they had the dub that TPCi replaced in M20, it's too sad.
Dwatch Says gotcha! I actually didn’t watch it and even I don’t wanted to because the actors changed and music are terrible, but just one Japanese music was in there that all. Heard some people one of Japan music were in the credit, but I am not really 100% sure. I would watch Japanese version instead because it has all bgm of their music, USA music just really poor music because TPCI just don’t understand anything about music and even have no feelings to it, only they wanted is money. 4Kids was just best for everything and make their own music to score back then, it eventually better than Japanese music, but now these days I got to say Japanese music are the best now.
They even rewrote everything Team Rocket said in Japanese in Movie 20's dub and there are tons of rewrites to Ash and Cross' dialogue also, but I agree with you the 4Kids dub was better when it comes to music and the voice acting too, imo! And 4Kids actually kept more of the Japanese music than TPCi on the whole in their dub, it's ridiculous!

TheBraveGallade it has nothing to do copyrighted just that TPCi are careless to dub and cheap even they have more money that just to keep one Japanese music Avant theme and more of their boring music that unfitting to the movie it worst than 4Kids. They only cared about money
