- This episode sees us leave the sleepy enclave of Preixens and head to the lovely city of Pamplona via a stopover in Jaca a city nestling in the Pyrenees very close to France.Our hotel was a decent walk from the old town in Jaca and an uphill hike on the way back! The weather was again beautiful staying in the high 20s. We'd stayed in Pamplona in the exact same hotel 4 years ago when we did our first trip to The Picos and were keen to see if anything had changed. We really liked Pamplona the first time and we weren't disappointed on this visit. The hotel was located a short walk from toehold town which is famous for its annual bull run - a highly dangerous activity were the general public and several huge bulls race through the narrow streets to the bull ring. My son Nick took part a few years ago but I don't think it is something you want to repeat!

Love Pamplona, my wife and I were there on the bike back in July 2022. VERY hot, but great place and some lovely little bars and tapas places down the narrow side streets! We stayed at the Hotel Tres Reyes, an easy walk to the old town and another place with secure underground parking.

Fabulous Spanish weather. Its nice to get secure underground parking, especially in a city. Love exploring the Spanish Old towns. I would definitely pass on the bull run!
The weather was just perfect for us 👍 I remember on one of your tours it was so hot the cameras wouldn’t work 🥵😳! Spain in early October was really pleasant and there is nothing better than old Spanish towns! 😀👍

Great video as usual! Was wondering what happened to you? Anyway, we did a similar route to you in May/June. Pyrenees are a wonderful area for motorcycling. We stayed in the Hotel Jaques in Jaca. Older, two star hotel in the city centre. Had secure motorcycle parking, nice clean rooms and good cafe/restaurant on first floor and out front.

It’s been wonderful to watch these videos, thanks so much both for sharing. Where do you get your energy? I’m turning 40 soon, work in the city with all the pressures that goes with that and wonder how you get through all those miles plus the stress of the arrangements! Doing a family holiday to Seville at Easter but sadly it’s by air and not bike.

@@midlifemotorcyclediaries I think you’re right, trying to summon up the guts to leave it all behind! That’s the thing I admire in friends who’ve taken the leap to leave. Seville is amazing along with most of Andalusia, I’ve been before, I think you’d both love it, but possibly leave the bikes at home for more Beer o’ Clock!

Whats your tips on booking accommodation with safe/underground bike parking when abroad?
Thank you Tim - we always use booking.com and research as thoroughly as we can, checking all the reviews of the parking availability and using Google Maps street view to get a closer look if the parking is outside! 😀👍
A little tip before you go on your trips to Europe. The week before, start taking a anti histamine tablet helps with the mozi bites and every day your away😊

Which camera are you using? Most cameras nowadays have it you just have to turn it on . Unless you're using a GoPro8 or older then you won't have it.@@midlifemotorcyclediaries
