Aww Donna, You've went way more faster than your friends.
They seriously should have left this in. For starters, this entire scene is practically in the movie already anyway! We're talking maybe a minute and a half more? And for such a beautiful song? Every musical needs an "I want" song from the main character early. This is like cutting out Part of Your World or Over the Rainbow. If they needed to cut something, how about I Have A Dream? It was played twice in the first movie, did we really need it a third time?
I have a dream is a key part of the movie cause its saying donna has a dream of turning the goat house in to the hotel
I've always listen to this song but never watch the movie. I sat thru waiting to hear it, but to find out it was deleted song. Soooo messed up. This is my favorite song from all of the Momma Mia and it's not even in the movie. Dumb dumb decision to take it out

Maybe because in the song it said “ when i come back” so maybe its sad cuz Donna’s dead. And she didn’t return or go back. That’s why maybe they thought was to sad for a musical movie. And Knowing me knowing you is also seconds away from whats the name of the game. So that might not be the reason, but in my opinion only.
Sorry I meant she said “ when I am returning” but she didn’t return cuz she died after giving birth I think. So its just too sad.😢😢😢

WHY. WAS. THIS. DELETED!? This is beautiful! The exact scene was in the movie but with different music and none of the beginning part. This was perfect! So sad this was not in it.😐

A year and a half later and I'm still bitter this was cut! On the DVD commentary the director states he removed this scene because he felt that viewers just wanted Donna to hurry up and get to Paris already and that a ballad like this slowed everything down. Hmm... okay, so we arrive in Paris maybe a minute faster than we would have otherwise (because this entire scene is practically in the movie already anyway to the point half the comments here swear this was in the movie)..... but anyway, we get to Paris, the moment the director felt was so important and that viewers were dying to see... only to.... drumroll please.... cut away from the scene immediately and go back to the present time.... where.... we get a ballad! And in a movie where almost half the songs are repeats from movie 1, they really need as many "new" songs as possible. And this one was practically written for this scene and is so beautiful too!! There was no reason to cut this!

I will never understand the reason why it got cut, I mean, this scene is wonderful!! The song is too good!! And the argument "it would be 10 secs apart the first song" doesn't aply. On many musicals, there are songs that come right after the last one, sometimes it even doesn't have lines between then.
I do love this song but however I do like how Donna is accompanied by the music to chiquitita when she arrives in Paris. I'm torn!!
My feelings on the song being deleted from the film. At the end of this song she sings "It can't go wrong" which is like so fitting for her because things do go wrong because she doesn't know who Sophie's dad is i really felt this should have been in the film!

it's my favorite ABBA song along Eagle and i was so excited when i saw the playlist for the movie only to find out it's been cut out.... It's such a fitting song with the most fitting lyrics for a young woman starting in her adult life... but they did the same thing with the first movie cutting out everything that somehow could slow down the paces... just The Winner and Slipping made it...
All the scenes featuring Lily and Amanda singing, should’ve stayed in the film. My queens! 😍😍🥰🥰

I love Lily so much. She’s so beautiful and cute and talented. I don’t love this song as much as some of the others she sang in the movie, but she definitely should have left it in the final movie.
Lily is awesome!! Scenery reminds me of Marry Poppins' Aquarelle painting ( London roofs, Cherry tree lane ). Now everyone knows my taste🤣🤣🤣
If kept, it needed a different framing, wandering through a park and having some misgivings, not packing for a trip in a downtown apartment anticipating the upcoming adventures. That said, it would have taken time to set up and broken the flow of the movie requiring even more time to bring it back to the main theme. That said .. this song is among my favorites and beautifully sung. I'm a small town boy that emotionally deeply feels that song. Freda is still my favorite but the deleted song a close second.
They just replaced this with Chiquitita and I love both, I can't decide which is better though!

Paul Briffett I watched this video too but this is the only scene that exists on the DVD. The part with the bus could actually be a deleted scene of the deleted scene 🤷🏻♂️😅

Paul Briffett Yea, basically what happens is they film the ENTIRE song, but then they only use specific parts in the film. So they have footage of the second verse forward, but that likely would've made it too long so that was cut to never be in the film.
Oh well, still a good deleted scene. I wish that they kept it in the movie!

I can understand why it isn't in the movie. Of course, it's a great song, but in the movie, the scene is a really happy one. I think this song will make it kinda sad.

Adam RJ I read somewhere that they deleted it because it’s a lesser-known ABBA song and being followed by “One of Us” which is another unfamiliar ABBA ballad, it would have been a combination of going too long with two songs that people didn’t know that well.
Felix Joz it’s shouldn’t be about if we know the songs.... I’d rather it be about what songs fit the scene and learning new songs by ABBA
