Love the colour!! When I am making my large ironing area (60" x 20") I use a heat reflective batting, it is advertised for use in making oven mits. Then I cover with a heavy cotton drill as it tends to last for years for me as it gets a lot of use with the constant pressing when making patchwork quilts. xxx

I am so glad I found this channel. I LOVE color & I love fabrics! As a young woman, I wore color all of the time. As I got older, I toned it all down. I see colorful fabrics but I stay away. Well.... I have been sewing sewing sewing & using color🤗🤗. I am in my happy place. I've made the half circle skirt, the caftan & I hacked my sleeveless denim jacket. Thanks Marcy & Rob. I am in my happy place. At this very moment, Sam @ Chic Fabrics is sending fabric pics to me so I can shop. I told him I know about the store because he helped you with Rob's suit jacket fabric!!
I don’t know how you get ANY sewing done with THAT VIEW!!! Super glad this isn’t a permanent goodbye, I really enjoy your and Robs content. Equal parts entertaining, educating and encouraging! You have made a LOT of projects I would love to copy/do for myself but as a plus sized gal I am a little hesitant. But that encouragement makes me feel like I COULD do it if I got over that fear!! - Love how you make do with a small sewing area and don’t require a huge empty room and fill it up with the latest sewing furniture! I was doing that, that I was putting more time in re-doing and re-doing my sewing room, which I share as a guest room and my granddaughter,7, now and we are, craft , and play Barbies where we do fashion shows and make new outfits for her. Lol. So fun!

Your table is amazeballs. I purchased a dining table with a leaf from marketplace for 25 bucks and 8 dolla risers from target. Bada bing, greatest cutting/crafting table I have ever owned. 👸

I can't believe you are in Fayetteville! My inlaws lived there for years, and we had lots of fun at football games and girls basketball. At the moment we are in AZ with its mid 90s weather and looking forward to northern Michigan cooler summers. Hope you had a wonderful time with your inlaws.
It was wonderful, Fayetteville is truly my favoriteville 💗 and those games are NUTS when they call the hogs!

INSPIRATION GALOUR(spelling??). The room is like a like penthouse with all the windows. I have sewn for over 45 years and finally discovered the heavy duty singer sewing machine 7 years ago. Work horse 🐎 👌.

Happy travels to you both. Missed seeing Rob this episode, but dinner... most important. lol...Love the sunset room, the tour. The machines. So important to what we do. I finally packed up my old, heavy Bernina ca. 1938/39 with the help of a burly friend. It will go to my son who will display it with his wife's mother's old Singer in his home office. Nice that he wants it. Now that my daughter bought me a new used Pfaff, I just don't use the old Bernina any more. Have to remember that the newer machine doesn't handle the heavy duty fabric/leather like the old girl did. Nice to move into the new era though. I had an old Singer back in the day, but was talked into trading it in for the Bernina. Wish I'd have kept it, but can't keep everything. Anyway that was a long time ago, and I'm happy with the Pfaff. So nice of my daughter to buy it for me. I love this video, and look forward to seeing how you settle into your New York apt. I look forward to seeing all you make when you move.

My cutting table is a recycled hollow door and a ironing board with my XL cutting mat. It's a little wonky/wobbly but it works and I 💕💕💕 love it. When we find our forever home I will build a cabinet style with storage and on wheels cutting table. I love this sewing room you have here. Looks so creative and calm.
Love this studio space! The furry 4-legged companion is a nice touch too 🐱My cutting table is my bar height (ie waist height for this tall gal) dining room table. It came with 6 chairs and an extension, but none of those get used much 😆

That Joann's is nice, but I wish they had a better yarn selection. I go there a lot for fabric, and they always have some good stuff :)
I have risers just like yours under an Ikea table for my cutting surface! Now if I could just keep the area as tidy as your sewing space!

I made a similar table and my Dad out folding legs on it. It lived under our bed for years, until I got a bigger sewing room. It came out when needed. Something like that may work in NYC- unless there is other stuff under your bed;)
There is indeed other stuff under the bed…..but maybe there’s some real estate under the couch….cuz this is a most excellent idea 💡

Love that studio space! beautiful! I made my pressing table out of a wooden deak top and adjustable hight legs. I set it up the same way, stappled down some batting and then covered in fabric and mounted my high pressure steam iron on one end. works great, but yeah, takes up some serious floor real estate.

oh I love the colour of the room. Featherweights are so cute and do sew such a nice stitch. Oddly most of my sewing is done on a 1886 treadle that I love, but treadle not so portable, lol. That is a really cute fuzzy kitty cat. Safe travels. Best to Rob

I've used an Ikea Norden gateleg sewing table as my cutting table because you can fold it down. But I had to go through some shenanigans to add wood to the legs so I could add 6" casters to make it tall enough. The wheels can get tangled up when you want to roll it anywhere, so it's not ideal, but it goes from 30"x60" to 30"X12" and rolls out of the way if I want it to.
I’ve been thinking about the ikea route, seeing as how I’m assembling all the furniture anyway! All those ikea hacks involve shenanigans. Rolling it away instead of packing it up would be nice!
