It looks amazing Natalia!! Just a random idea I thought of when you were talking about not knowing if you want to keep your upstairs room a studio as well - you could make your upstairs room your “atelier” (customs, fittings, and new design work) and then your garage is your like “factory/workshop” where you do your mass productions!

You'll definitely use all that space and more as you keep growing! It's exciting that you are expanding your business! Congratulations!! My husband built a similar table and he put a shelf in the middle so I could store rolls of fabric, the best thing in my studio. I put fabric around the table to hide all the stuff.... Enjoy your new space!!!

I would suggest an inverter air conditioner / heating system. The initial amount might be more than you would want to invest but the electrical bill for my house went down between $200 to $300 per month, depending on the temperatures. It is the best upgrade we have done to date.

You are such an organized person and you are using your space so wisely and investing perfectly. Your growth is consistent and phenomenal. Whenever you say your dad made your cutting table I feel so much connected with you as my dad made my cutting table too. Waiting to see you work full on this studio. You may find that the vintage machines are significantly slower than modern ones and replacement parts are tough to come by - you can buy sewing tables that have an empty space for the machine of your choice to drop in. May be something to consider with your growing business! Congrats on needing the additional space! So fun to see your progress!
Yes, vintage machines are definitely built to last! Last year I bought my first machine and it was a new Brother machine that I paid a couple hundred for and I love it but the tension is messed up now and I have to take in to have it repaired...but my subsequent machine purchase was $35 for a vintage machine from the 1950s( a Japanese class 15 clone in a beautiful blue/teal color) and it stitches beautifully!!! Then about 2months ago we moved into a new apartment and the previous tenant had been evicted & arrested the same day. The previous tenants mother got what she could but the daughter was a hoarder so most things were left. In the upstairs hallway was a sewing table with a Penncrest model 1000 in it and then in 1 of the bedroom closets I found at 1910 Singer Sphinx in a case and they still work!!!! Those 2 treasures made cleaning up the massive mess all worth it!
those are some good finds! I totally agree, i've had 3 modern 200-300$ machines, by brother or janome, and they all eventually crapped out on me and the repair techs all told me that it wasn't worth it to fix plus would need to be sent back to the manufacturer because of motherboard problems. I since bought a 1958 singer 401a that is an absolute beast. After that I bought a 5$ American Home straight stitch in a desk that needs some cleaning but is also a beast! Never going back to modern "home" machines. The all metal insides of vintage home machines or modern industrials, make all the difference.

It’s a time saver to have a few machines. No more waiting to change threads to finish a project.
That cutting table is great. You can put a piece of wood were the cross braces are on the legs makes for a lot of extra fabric storage. Do you use a pressing table? You can make one like the cutting table. Use hot water washed old military 100% wool blankets, wrap them very tight around the wood staple. Use two blankets. Then use a hot water washed 100% cotton painting drop cloth over the wool and staple it. It works amazing..
You should make upstairs your office, so that's where you like work on posts, your website, brainstorm ideas, film, edit, book work etc.
I already have an office upstairs for that :) I’m probably just going to keep it as is!

So my brother is a really fast runner in Australia and he got a scholarship for a school in an other state than where we live so he doesn’t use his room in our house except for when he come every second holiday so I’m thinking of turning his room in a sewing room, aaaah I love this channel ❤️💜

I agree, older machines were built to last. My current butterfly machine was passed down to me from my grand ma to my mom then to me and I haven’t had any issues with it. Suffice to say that machine is over 27 years and still going good 😌

Your garage studio looks amazing Keep a studio in the house as well. Winter in the garage will cold even with the space heater. I had my upholstery studio in the garage it was quite cold. My garage was in a 50's house and was not insulated or sheet rocked so that makes a big difference to yours.

you should see if you can install a window into your garage! It's super important for me to get sunlight vs being in the dark when i work! good luck!!!
This was very inspirational. I have a sewing house...no room is exempt from having sewing supplies tucked in here and there (except my kitchen and bathrooms). I also have a garage about the same size as yours that I would like to convert. My only issue is my garage is detached and I live in the desert, so I would have to do some extra work to make it useable. Walls are finished, just like yours...but ceiling would need to be closed in. I also live alone and probably won't do anything until I need to hire someone.

Those vintage machines are expensive! I bought my vintage Singer 28K in incredible shape from 1910 for €30, and the “newer” electric models go for €50. I guess there’s a difference in supply here and there.
Im ngl just because you live alone you should use the “now” studio to store clothes and orders and stuff basically a closet and then you have the future studio

Hi! I’m looking to buy a good long lasting sewing machine. I’ve only recently started to sew but my mom has been sewing for years so Im looking for something that will be easy for both of us. We’ve never used the digital type and our old one didn’t have a lot of different options/tools so some of the newer models look kind of daunting with all the different options/switches on them. Any advice?

Just wondered why you would not get a real professional sewing machine that sits in the oil like a Juki. Stitching is about 5000 stitches per minute

In india this machine in just 5 000 rupees new machine with Table and 2 hand machine in just 3000 (35.99$)rupees
