Loved to watch him race - when he was out there, which didn't seem to often. The covid years were tough on everybody. He just didn't shine when given the chance. Hope he gets another go at it.
He was given a ride on a Portuguese team in the middle of last year and won the Queen stage of the Tour of Portugal, then was given a pro contract with Q36.5 Pro Cycling for 2024. We’ll make another episode on it soon.
It was the lack of racing experience that increased the probability of crashing. I am old now, but my first 2 years of racing I crashed more than my last 8 years.

Charles is a legend. Running cycling teams for 28 years, as selfless as they come and a great human.
