    Living full-time in my rolling tiny home has been the best decision of my life. Off-Grid living offers a peace and connection to life that you just can't explain. When i first started van life i build a stealth camper van with the mindset the you had to live a stealth van life and i soon discovered that you can just live the city van life and boondock in the countryside and as long as you are respectful of the backcountry and cities you live in. Stealth van life in not necessary. Be proud of the life you choose to live, Share this van life journey with everyone. Remember Tiny Homes and The whole tiny house lifestyle is very popular and #vanlife is no different. When you don't hide it people will come say hi and ask you questions. The world is more curious than hateful. Well......Welcome to my everyday van life adventures. My name is Chrome Valdez and i travel full-time with Cruz the bulldog. Stay weird everyone and thank you for being here.

    It is interesting that you counsel people when building out their vans to do it slowly and piecemeal (which I think is great advice) but when you built out your shop you went hog wild and stocked it with all kinds of tools and supplies that you likely will never end up using most of it.

    I wonder if the BMS in the battery was restricting current. If the cells were out of balance enough, it would limit the current coming in until balanced. When you charged at the shop, the BMS finished balancing and now is able to accept more current from the charge controller.

    • @brendag2891

      Don't lithium batteries like to be between 30 & 70%? Or are Chrome's AGM, I don't remember?

    • @nathenfudurich6652
      @nathenfudurich6652 2 года назад

      @@brendag2891 depends on your definition of like. If the voltage delta between the individual cells is large enough, the BMS (as far as I know) will first work on reducing that difference before charging the other cells. That's why you'll see recommendations to top balance or bottom balance the batteries intermittently. Hope that helps!

    Check your belt tensioner to see if it is working. Check your van battery terminals, are they loose or corroded. Went back and looked at your video from 3 weeks ago titled "Not Enough Charging...." That day the app said the voltage output was 13.2 Volts. In this video you outputting >13.5 Volts. An alternator should be outputting between 13.5 to 14.4 Volts. My guess is that when it is lower in percent charged the charge controller is trying to draw too much current for the alternator to handle and it causes the alternator and regulator problems, so the charge controller drops the amount it is drawing due to the lower voltage. Time to upgrade to an alternator that can take the power demand you are putting on it.

    The pumps operate at a fixed amount typically .02/ml per pulse .. so on high at ~6 pulses per second your pulling around 7.2/ml of fluid per minute or ~.43L/Hour. that be diesel, kerosene or water(don't do that) .. so the consumption should be roughly the same.

    Diesel gels in cold weather, kerosene does not gel. Also old old old school truckers used to mix a little kerosene in their diesel as an antigel additive for winter. 10% kerosene lowers the cold filter clogging of diesel 5 degrees.

    How about a cabinet full of nuts, bolts, washers, zerk fittings, cotter pins, in both metric and SAE? Kerosene will burn hotter than diesel but not enough to make up the difference in price. Kerosene can also be used to cut the diesel for cold weather if you don't have an additive like if you buy your diesel in Florida and now you're in Manitoba and it's 20° below zero

    They run it on kerosine , because diesel has winter additive and that’s what the heaters don’t like

      wonder if they use it because the gelling/freezing point of diesel is much much higher than kerosine, 0c vs. -40c respectively .. additives get the freezing point closer to Kero but not completely and those additives don't normally affect usage. especially on the uber simple combustion chambers of the heater..
