Mike Harris - Brad Knox - Dean Scavone
A very early live version of "Freddie's Dream,' a song Mike penned earlier that month, in what began as a tribute to singer Freddie Mercury, just two months after the passing of the British vocal legend. After a few stanzas the lyrics shift to being more of a call to pursue and achieve one's dreams, though at this point in time the lyrics were still far from finalized. This was just over two weeks prior to the studio recording of the song, which would later appear on the "Thick" album.
The bass demolition was a one-off, one-time stunt done using a thrift-shop bass someone donated to the band for such a purpose. Do not attempt this on stage, or anywhere, the band advises. This was a carefully contained stunt, despite however reckless it might appear, with off-screen stage hands extinguisher-equipped at the ready for safety protocol. The funny thing was that the bass was fine afterward, emerging basically unscathed in the aftermath of the event, as it was constructed from a hard, dense material like mahogany. It was given to someone at the front of the audience who took it home as a trophy of the night's proceedings.

    interesting story about the bass.
can you explain the two microphones? did the singer normally have two vocal mics onstage?

One is for the bassist, who often didn't sing!
