Ok fun fact- I didn’t know abt Soca Music before I met you guys-! It’s so happy and joyful and has been apart of my journey with depression, it’s uplifting to hear it! Also another fun fact for the people in the comments- they’re both from the south of their country, Maria has an southish accent from what I’ve heard- I’m from the south as well, so that cool ig but my gf is from southern America, and it’s rlly nice her- although the accents are so thick!! I can’t understand their southern lingo (that’s what they call it) 😅 and they can tell I’m from Canada bc i don’t speak like them- it’s rlly awkward when my teacher says something and I don’t understand…like at all- my teacher said one day “there’s more then one way to skin a cat” …I looked at her is fear- now I know that the south (Americans) are all abt murder and guns….please help- it’s scary down here 🥲
My partner is also from the islands! Shs is Polynesian and she and Alexa have a lot of similarities in their culture and I love all of it!
And by the way, Alexa 100% has an accent, and it is very beautiful!
In Alexa's defense, I sleep the exact same way! Half naked, freezing cold! It didn't take too much convincing for my girl to let me sleep like that because as she says "the view is spectacular" 😂!
I love Carribbean food! The Creole influences really come through and I really like Creole food. We have a Carribbean restaurant here that serves Shark and Bake and its incredible!

Darling as a Trini, I can fully tell you that Alexa has a Trini accent. She might have a town/convent accent BUT it's Trini alright. I speak the same way and I grew up in Woodbrook, Trinidad but live in de South now.
