I hate how dangerous this world is for women and feminine presenting people. It's so unfair that we always have to be aware of our surroundings and men for the most part don't. I really hope that it changes one day 🤞. Thank you for sharing your story! That must have been so scary for you
I’m so sorry that you had to go through that. It’s a constant reminder to always be aware of your surroundings, especially at night when walking alone. I’m relieved that you are telling the story years later. You hear about this stuff happening- however, things don’t turn out the same way as yours. Here in the USA, it’s getting so bad in certain areas in CA, NY, and Chicago…I am grateful that I live in a safe town. I still check my locks, put on my alarm system and do not go out at night alone. However, I AM a tall blonde AMAZON - lol - I do get REALLY TICKED OFF when someone appears to be following me. I turn around and let them pass me… as I glare at them. They probably were a decent person, but hey- it’s better to be safe than sorry! 😊

Thanks for sharing this with us. You only reinforced the fact that we should always be aware and alert, and try not to walk alone at night, especially if we are female. Sometimes, even when we give our belongings up, we can be seriously hurt or killed. You were very lucky, Maria. Thank goodness

This has upset me and it’s such a scary situation and a horrific attack and I’m just glad that you’re okay now. London is a scary place and I was there when I was 18. I was so unhappy I returned home to Belfast. Even with all the unrest in Belfast it was safer than London. I now live in Glasgow and despite some negative media about this city. It is filled with wonderful kind people. I have never felt unsafe. So sorry to hear about your ordeal. You are strong woman with a beautiful family and that is all you need to heal. Love you ladies. X

What a terrifying experience. I'm so sorry that that happened to you Maria. I'm glad that it didn't end up being way worse, but it still looked pretty bad, and shouldn't have happened to you in the first place. You are so strong to be able to openly talk about it like this.

Your experience will teach us to always be careful wherever we are. I also had a bad experience when using a headset, I was hit and run when I was hit by motorbike when i was 17 years old and the culprit run away. the injury was quite serious, many people helped me at that time, I’m great full. but I don't know why until now I can't to not use the headset while driving ehehehe 🤣.

In 2016 Keira and I were still living in Florida, getting ready to move home to New Hampshire. We’ve had a few close calls in Florida (the worst state in the US) and have been scared out of our wits. Never go out by yourself at night, and never wear earbuds!!

I'm so glad Maria came out of this and was ok. I'm a law enforcement officer in the US and I'm grateful that we are allowed to protect ourselves here and carry a firearm or knife on our person. I can't help but wonder if a self defense weapon could have prevented the attack from being so violent. So glad you're doing OK Though, Maria. Here in my country, I teach martial arts and self defense to young women and I highly recommend it especially in countries where firearms are illegal. Karate might save your life one day. In the meantime, be safe and always be vigilante. Much Love from the US. 💜

Oh my word! I'm truly sorry this happened to you Maria. I know what you went thru, but little more. I was 7yr old and was grabbed, as i was walking, but in DayLight. He Sexually abused me, and picked up big Stone, to drop on my head. But then let me go. God was with me that day. I'm gratefull to be here years later. Next time you will be able to surprise your attacker and completely neutralize him no matter how small and frail you might be (you are not frail). I recommend it to everyone.
