The first is a common drill ( a drill is working on your technique) that golfers use to keep from, what is called an 'early extension' which leads to inefficiencies in the golf swing. The second one is him working on how he wants to feel hitting a bunker shot. In a bunker shot the hands move faster. So he is over exaggerating this feel in his swing. This gives him a better chance of making a good swing. Both of these are only done in practice usually. When he swings his swing, one of the greatest of all time, he feels like he is doing these motions. Simple!

Back problems mainly consist with an poor alignment with the spine and nutrition. Many people don't realize that, if you don't drink enough water, or to much of refined sugar can cause back problems.
It’s very well documented why tiger has back problems. Practicing hip flexion like he is here (whilst his spine is fused as this is within the last few years), has not and will not cause his back to be aggravated. It’s hip flexion, not spinal flexion
His back problems were from years of hardcore special forces type workouts. He hurt a knee in high school and all that pounding accelerated the deterioration. His body is much “older” than his age.

I just learned today at a lesson proper foot placement and bending or sticking my butt out. It helped immensely.
