Juanita and Ramon married on May 31, 1954, in San Luis Potosí. Arriving in California in 1969 seeking the American dream, Ramon was finally able to have his family join him in 1974. Over the course of their 65 year marriage, they built a beautiful family of 7 children, 13 grandchildren, and 11 great grandchildren.
As many of you know my family lost my grandfather, Ramon Bravo, on April 24th. Fortunately, we were able to grant his wishes of providing a small viewing, blessing, and cremation. Unfortunately, his wife of 65 years, my grandmother, Juanita Bravo, followed him in passing on May 2nd. Never had our family imagined we’d have to mourn the loss of both of them over the course of a week. With your help we hope to give Juanita, a small viewing, blessing and burial. We understand that these are uncertain times for all and if you’re unable to contribute financially we appreciate your prayers. Thank you to everyone who has reached out, sent flowers, and prayers. We’re incredibly overwhelmed by the outpouring of love for my family during the most trying time of our lives.

Some piru dude from cedar block end up spitting on him and man let me tell u, him and this big dude from corner poccet crip beat the hell out of that dude. I just finished watching part 3 of the interview with OBG Primo Pete's Sister and her husband. That was very insightful and informative on displaying the history of Santana Blocc and The Fallen Soldiers (May they Rest In Peace). I love what you guys are doing providing great historical informative content on the background history of the different hoods/Barrio. In her teenage and young adult pictures she looks like a light-skinned Black woman. She definitely has Black lingo. Also, Compton went from white to black to Latino (within a 40-year span). The CPT will remain Latino forever.

Cool history ...reminds me of life growing up in the 80's...I used to be a B-Dog back then...for 7-8 years...my childhood friends were all black even though i grew up inside a varrio ..I ran with my black homies...all that changed in the early 90's with the introduced of prison politics...later i joined a varrio in Pacoima...the first time i did time in the county jail i had to go to war with my childhood homies

Sonny Black was a capo in the Bonanno crime family in New York. He was made man that unknowingly let FBI agent "Donnie Brasco" into the mob. He owned an apartment building and raised his prized pigeons up there. Some of the pigeons had blood line from pigeons from France and Russia. He won a lot of money racing his pigeons. Turtle use to stay on Budlong in front of the store back then it was called Lester’s between 102nd and 103rd. Been so long I probably did know him. If he went to Woodcrest and is in his mid 40’s we most likely was hangin. We use to go swimming over at Jesse Owens and Helen Keller park in the summer times.
