I am watching this August 19, 2024, 332 years after John Proctor was killed. When you mentioned his date of death, it sent chills up my spine, then I was was just sad. Salem, MA has been in my bucket list since I was about 10 years old. Some day. Thanks for sharing this video.
At 76, I am desk bound traveling only thru what you share, so please continue to share historic places, places I can see thru your eyes. THANK YOU for your time and efforts.
Tanya you are an adorable lady. You both remind us of our travels. My husband is dying of cancer now here in AZ. but we traveled for over 6 years between houses. It was to remember. If you ever get to New Mexico, go to Faywood Hot Springs (southern NM.) and the city of rocks. Take care and bless you both.
My husband is a cancer survivor of esophageal cancer but he has a terminal condition that can take his life literally at any moment it is his dream to get an rv of some sort and travel prayers for you and your husband michelle
My husband and i bought a small motor home to travel with our grandson that has stage 3 brain cancer.he is only 30 years old and autistic .he wants to travel and live his best life. We also cruise with him to see other countries. I am so so so sorry for your loss. Thank god for memories
What a beautiful couple!!!! The love and respect both have for each other!!! Amazing! I just watched "the knock"....... I would have had a cardiac arrest!! I hope you placed Dave on "time out" and onto dessert after dinner for 1 week! All your videos are simply so AWESOME! Please make more videos more often, and I love your cats!......... Shoot....i love your life!!! But it's not cheap.😁😜😍😍😍😍😍😍😍.... One suggestion...... Pease tells us what you put in your recipes...mmmm hmmm delicious looking food!
John Procter is an ancestor of the Joslin family that established the Joslin Diabetes Center in Boston. I had become friendly with a slightly mad son of the family, exceptionally kind and intelligent, but different in that he had no concern about what folks thought of him. He kindly took me into the family home and showed me an elegant document on a wall next to an old grandfather clock in the main hallway of the house that detailed the family tree that clearly indicated that John Proctor of Salem was part of his heritage. That home was a time capsule of days gone by in a grand way and I have always treasured my time Elliot...rest in peace my friend.
I am a 76 year old Scottish woman living in Scotland. and I am thoroughly enjoying following you guys around the USA. I have visited family in the US 4 times in my life, including Boston, New York, Connecticut, Warminster in Pennsylvania, New Hampshire, Vermont, upstate New York, Rhode Island, North Carolina, Smokey Mountains, Cherokee, and Florida. I loved every minute of it and met so many great people. I am now living more US travels through you two. Thank you so much for everything you do. ❤❤
There is so much more to the story, and the victims of that time during the Salem Witchhunt. The girls, who started the accusing, were also victims (of their circumstances) those that were the socially strange or unaccepted were the scapegoats. Truly a frightening time! Thank you for taking the time sharing your journey! Wishing you continued safe travels
Your tour of Salem brought back fond memories. My husband's family had a summer home for over 40 years across Salem Harbor from which they could see the shoreline where you were. They were natives of Lynn, Massachusetts, and I grew up in Lynn as well, but not a native to Lynn. I was born in Lawrence. My husband grew up boating, fishing and swimming in Salem Harbor back in the 1950's until we married in 1972 and moved to Florida, permanently, in 1973 with our 9 month old daughter who is now 50 years old! His sister and her daughter graduated from Salem State College, as have many of our friends. Several of our friends still live in the Witch City! Chop suey sandwiches were a Salem Willows tradition but sadly Salem Lowe Chinese Food restaurant at the Willows closed in August of 2022. My relatives still make this chop suey which is not like any chop suey you have ever had. It was an "Americanized" version of chop suey. Winter Island Park campground has 28 RV campsites right in Salem about a 2.5 miles from downtown. Walmart is a great deal - FREE! Thought the prank Dave played was funny but scary! No one wants to hear a knock on any door at 3:30 in the morning! LOL BTW I am watching RV Unplugged and cannot wait for episode 2. I followed your You Tube channel prior to RV Unplugged. I am also following the You Tube Channels of some of the other contestants too! It is difficult for me to root for any one team because I really like all of you guys so I will remain neutral and may the best team win! Good luck! Thank you for the great tour of Salem.
🎵 🎶 Someone’s knockin’ at the 🚪 someone’s ringin’ the 🔔. Do me a favour, (don’t) open the🚪 and (don’t) let ‘em in! 🎶 🎵 Always stay safe! The pair of you are too funny (in the nicest possible way).
So great when you find your "someone" who shares your interests and genuinely likes what you like! And who you can be silly with. Good for you both! Very informative videos. Since finding your channel last week, I know more about America now than I have in many decades of living here. Thanks!
We used to visit Salem when we lived in Texas all the time we’d fly. Now we live in NH and we never visit. The town is lively on Oct 31 everyone dresses up and they do a mock trial. My ancestors lived in Salem John Alden and family.?the old homes have always been my favorite. They still have the old sheet rock with horse hair in it. Whats crazy is my best friend who I met at my job when I was 19. It turns out that her family member was killed as a witch in Salem and her ancestor knew my ancestor and both lived in Salem. Her ancestors was Rebecca nurse and mine were the Alden’s and Joh 20:52 n Alden was accused of being a witch but was not killed. Salem is a nice place to walk.
Amazing video. I love history. I love the snippets of historical information you provided. Just enough to hook me into investigating more in depth. I have to admit, this was also very emotional 😢. Another painful period in our history. Thanks for sharing.
Really enjoy your trips! One trip you might enjoy is bannock,Montana. A ghost town that found gold. We visited it in 2018,and I want to go back someday! You get there off of I-15 by Dillon,mt. Watch out for free range cows!!!
1692 not 1962. This is all quite interesting. So much history. Your videos are very full and nice for longer viewing. I’ll be keeping notes of your domestic tours for my itinerary.
Keep them comming. As I can not travel to the US as frequent as I like I can travel through you and learn about our DIFFERENCES as well as our SIMILARITIES.
I enjoyed Salem…thank you for bringing us along and sharing the history and the stories of things that happened there…. I did enjoy this type of content…you are a lovely couple…big hugs and safe travels 🙏🏼❤️🙏🏼❤️🙏🏼❤️
💜 this is such a sad part of our history. And yes, please bring more videos like this with your visits to different towns. It’s wonderful to be a spectator over here living through you guys vicariously, and seeing places that we might not ever make it to or to see things about places that we love and want to return to. Thanks! And of course the two of you are so so fun!

I've always wanted to live the RV lifestyle. I hope to build up my account so I can do it. I'm a single mother of 5 and it's not easy but I know it's possible!!! Much love to you two!! God Bless Yall!!!💜.
I love you guys!!! You are so fun to watch. I LOVE Salem. Hubby and I went to Salem for our first vacation road-trip. We decided to go to the Rebecca Nurse Homestead. Unfortunately, we were there on a Monday so it was closed. Apparently, you’re still allowed to walk around the property but we couldn’t go inside any of the buildings. Hubby decided to wait in the car and did my walking tour of the property. At that point I was the only person there and it was super quiet and a little spooky. As I was walking past the garden gate…I heard creaking and it slowly opened by itself. It was a hot , humid day with absolutely no wind 😮. I still get goosebumps when I look at the pics I took of the property.
Welcome to NE-Fun fact as to the opening reference to hubie Halloween -years ago they had an open casting for extras and my daughter made the cut and it’s a lifelong wonderful memory for her - living in NH these opportunities don’t come along all that easily 🎉🍾
Yes! Love you two!! Please go in depth with history of where you travel! ( not Las Vegas!) ( curious why you didn’t go to the House of Seven Gables! I felt like I had lived there 40 years ago. ) Thank you for all your hard work! I am addicted and I love your cats!
I love watching the two of you. You appear to get along so well and you have such respect for each other. That is great to see. Such fun videos. I want to visit Salem.
HELLO I LOVE YOUR TOUR OF SALEM MASS IT MADE ME FEEL LIKE I WAS HOME AGAIN IM FROM NH BUT LIVE IN FLORIDA NOW,JUST STARTED WATCHING YOU LOVE YOUR VIDEOS! LOVE YOUR RV LIFE STYLE! AND YOUR ACCENTS!
I'd love to see more videos like the Salem Excursion I love history and you made this really exciting and told me things I never knew about Salem Massachusetts thanks a lot
I just started watching. I enjoyed traveling and exploring with you guys. After a few episodes (3), I subscribed because you guys are so fun. You both are adorable and the cats are adorable. Also, your adventures are fun and Thanks for making us feel like weʻre on the trip too. ❤️❤️ Iʻm from Hawaii so thereʻs no RVing.
This was the first video of yours I have watched. Just found you. I subscribed right away!! Loved the info and tour of Salem so I would love to see more videos like this!!
We were also at Procters Ledge right after they discovered that it was the location for the hangings. It was years before the memorial and we literally climbed up the hill there between the houses to the spot. I can’t wait to go back and see the memorial.
Hi guys. Appreciated your video from Salem and your commentary on the Salem Witch Trials. I am a direct descendant of Rebecca Nurse so this hits close to home for me. My wife and I ordered an Ekko in April and we’re looking forward to taking a trip to Salem and hopefully visit the homestead and burial site of Rebecca Nurse. Thanks again for the very nice and tastefully done tour of Salem. And thanks so much for sharing your adventures with us!
Thank you! Glad you enjoyed the video! I’m sure it does hit home! We actually met a direct descendant of Jacob Goodale! Jacob was killed by land owner Giles Corey! Jacob apparently stole apples and Giles beat him with a stick! Awful! Congratulations on your Ekko purchase! Hope to see you on the road! We appreciate you for taking the time to watch the video! Welcome aboard! Be sure to sign up to our weekly newsletter for up-to-date info on our travels, tips, meetups and more. We might be in a city near you! www.turnitupworld.com/newsletter So when do you take delivery of your Ekko?
@@LetsTurnItUpWorld we ordered from Lichtsinn RV. We don’t have a VIN # yet so we’re thinking it will probably be sometime in the spring or summer of 2023. We’re so ready to begin our travels. It would be really cool to see you all on the road and camp with you sometime.
I also live in MA (south shore) and never been to Salem. Really enjoyed this video.. loved all the fun facts., like Parker bros etc and the stories. Nice job! Keep up the good work!
Thanks for the overview of Salem! I went 35 years ago and the info provided at the church about the truth of what happened there was shocking. Love that they now have good places to eat and it seems nice to walk around as well. You two are so cute together! ❤
I really enjoyed this video and learning new things from it. Yes please make more videos like this. I really do enjoy your videos so much. Stay safe and blessed.
I love watching you both so much. Great personalities and you are allowing me to see places l may never see. Be safe on all your adventures. I love you guys.
I just found your channel but I loved visiting Salem on 2003. Yep year of the infamous brown out. I especially loved visiting the entire area as my family hails from Plymouth. The rich dark history adds to the folklore.
Happy to subscribe for content like this. You guys are super wholesome & seem like good people. Keep it up!! P.S. Happy to see some positive MA representation
😂😂😂❤❤❤❤that was the best most funniest shizzz that I ever seen between the both of you… “I was thinking that awww they never get out of control and be mad at each other “ and I ❤how Tonya let him have it in an so cute cuzzing way …
I spent part of my childhood in Scituate Mass. Went to school in Scituate and Kingston. Camped at Standish State park, Camp Child and 4 winds. RV’d in the 50’s up and down the East coast with my parents. CA to FLA.. Refurbished the Stockbridge mill as a scout and spend hours with Mr. Ed. R. Snow., knew Cardinal Cushing. Lots of history in that state.
Right!! 😂😂 By the way, Be sure to subscribe to our newsletter for up-to-date info from where we are, meetups, tips, and more. www.turnitupworld.com/newsletter
I would love to go there! It might be a while before I get up that way, but it's on the bucket list. In the meantime, I'll live vicariously through you two. :)
You look so happy. Thanks for sharing your experiences with us. I just don't have any resources to do anything like that right now. I've often wondered about it.
Loud knocking on any type of car door in the middle of the night when traveling is scary as fuck. I've been living out of my car for 6 months and a day now I had a temporary home but as soon as i ran out of funds on a weekly basis rent I was kicked out and it freaks me out every single time I hear "the knock". I would suffest rest stops, in MA most are unlimited. But don't stay for like weeks on end. Move around to different one on occasion I've found staying at one for 3 days before moving to the next works best. Stay safe and happy travels.
Just stumbled onto this video; I've watched your Vegas videos and loved them!!! I have to say this video and previous ones in the Black Hills are awesome!!! Best travel videos I've seen so far, so PLEASE do some more! Thanks
We just stayed in this same lot 2 nights ago (Halloween weekend) thanks to your video. It worked out perfectly. There were 4 other campers lined up along the side, and we parked our Roadtrek RV under a light, like you guys did. Thankfully, no louds knocks on our door that night!!
That's awesome. Salem, MA is such a neat place. Hope you had a chance to check out some of those restaurants. Glad you enjoyed the video and found it helpful. Happy and safe travels on your road trip. Where y'all off to next?
I just recently stumbled upon your RUclips channel. You two are too cute. I loved this video and would love to see more like it. It was very educational yet so much fun to watch.
We went to salem recently, too. Went to Red's, the Tavern, and somewhere else. At Red's I got a great hot chocolate and (I think???) a strawberry banana breakfast pancakes thing. At the Tavern ( I think???) we got Avocado fries. So good.
This was a very interesting and informative video and I hope you keep this kind of video up. I love the historic places snd you two have great personalities which keep it so fun to watch!!!
😂😅That was awful to be woken up that early, but it was cute😂😂😂. Those are the memories you keep for ever. You two are great! Thank you for sharing and the history of Salem. God Bless🙏🏼
Fellow MA gal! From western MA, Northampton area. But did live in Gloucester, went to Salem State, then lived in Boston. Awesome seeing fellow MA peeps on the road! Glad I stumbled onto your page!
Great video 😁 my daughter and I visited Salem Oct 2019 for the first time. It is super busy with vendors set up downtown for the whole month, people everywhere, and seen some really cool costumes. There is so much history, lots of cool shops, tours, muesums and great restaurants. You definitely get your steps in haha. I can't wait to revisit.
I love this video! Salem is on my bucket list because I’m related to the Towne family - through Edmund, Sarah and Jacob Towne (Rebecca Nurse & Mary Estey’s siblings) are all my 11th great grandparents (it’s complicated lol).
Love you guys. Watching the Salem video. Mom and I rv-ed for many years. We'd leave Texas the last week of September and come home by Thanksgiving. We hit every state. You are living a great life. Hot Salem 2 times right before Halloween. Awesome
I loved this! Learning new things about an area is always great. My husband and I hope someday to travel around like you guys do. Keep up the great content.💜
I just watched this one. I have watched several of your videos. I just got into these van/rv life videos. This is my first comment though, because I’m really impressed with your enthusiasm & ability to entertain & edit with some flare. Great job!
I like to think you for taking me on your journey to Salem. I fine it to be very inspiring learning history of Salem. I there with you all the way for begin to end. You both make excellent teachers. Dave the knock on the door was funny. It’s justifiable.

You two are amazing. I can’t stop watching!
I love that you give us a little history. Much love from Texas!
Welcome K H and thank you for subscribing! We really appreciate it and are excited to share our adventures with you! Do you live in MA?
A prank like that? Up and out at 3:30am in Salem in a Wal-Mart parking lot? That's how you KNOW he loves you. 😂❤️ Y'all are too sweet.
Enjoyed watching this video and seeing some of the history in Salem! But that loud knocking on the door would of freaked me out! 😂😂
Thank you Debbie. Always great to see your comments. You and me both! I'm definitely going to have to get Dave back! Mwahahahaha! 😂
LMBO I was wiping tears when you knocked on the outside of the camper PRICELESS you know she will get revenge lol
Thanks Jeff, yes, revenge is coming lol! Have you been to Salem before?
@@LetsTurnItUpWorld I’ve been up there in a Peterbilt delivering freight not to visit though.
I just recently stumbled upon your RUclips channel. You two are too cute. I loved this video and would love to see more like it. It was very educational yet so much fun to watch.
Great vid as always, loved the prank and can't wait to watch the video of Tanya's Revenge! ❤
We went to salem recently, too. Went to Red's, the Tavern, and somewhere else. At Red's I got a great hot chocolate and (I think???) a strawberry banana breakfast pancakes thing. At the Tavern ( I think???) we got Avocado fries. So good.
Thank you for

Awesome

Thanks Thomasina! We are happy that you enjoyed our journey through Salem! We really enjoyed it and, there will be payback for that knock lol!
