    I’m glad you went with quality fenders, since the rest of your build is sweet

    That battery pick is your battery temp sensor. It’s part of a safety circuit. It measures your IAT, against you coolant temp against your battery temp to looks for a possible heat related electrical faults. They give you a super annoying code if you plug your truck in overnight because the ambient air and coolant temp are different than your battery temp.
    It could have other functions but that’s the only experience I’ve had with it. I’d reinstall it if it were me because I don’t know if you would have a lifetime CEL without it

    Looks fantastic - I went with Trim-Lok (p/n 48RM16) for the cut hood edge as it has a steel core, dual grip fingers and I applied a bead of black silicone so that when the cut hood edge was pushed into the edge trim it locked it in place and keeps the water out. Keep it up!

    Man, that looks really sharp! So much more room for those 37s.

    I did Genrights, very similar. I used the 1/4” door trim stuff with adhesive but took it off and used 1/2” door weather stripping fiction fit on the hood cut. Looks badass.

    I don’t know what type of flex you have but I was worrying about that edge of the fender cutting into the tire tread when the tire stuffs. I liked the way the poision Spyder fenders had a square tube inner structure that you could rub a tire on and not saw into the tread.

    I have the push button hood pins… they are just ok, I don’t love them. I think you did a good job with the factory latches. You’ve put some serious coin in this thing lately.

    • @_everydayoffroad_
      @_everydayoffroad_  Год назад

      Thanks, I’m glad I went back with factory latches. And yes the snowball effect happened, but we are done with major items for a while (hopefully). Once the Dana 44 was in, I had 37’s ready to go and then the fenders were a result of not being able to wheel with the new tire size.

    Hate you had to cut the hood and looks like a good bit of work. But maaaaan the Jeep looks absolutely wicked now! Good call on the factory paint match too. Cant wait to see this monster conquer some trails!

    Your jeep is incredible but you've created a MAJOR PROBLEM for me. I commented (and you replied) on my dad's 98 TJ build on my channel jeepNdirt "The Everyday TJ" where I helped him put together a basic (very nice TJ) everyday jeep on 33's for the average person on a budget. But he found your channel and now all I hear is question after question about what does it take to make his like yours. How much time? How much cost? etc...... You've influenced him and now I'm suffering. LOL😀 But seriously, all jokes aside you're build is awesome. I'm an old school YJ guy with a built JLUR who loves the TJ's but want's an LJ for a new build and I want it in your color scheme. Love the content. Great work.

      Thanks man I really appreciate the kind words. I’d love to build an LJ one day in my same color. Thanks so much to you and your dad for watching!

    Watching your video and seeing how good it looks on your jeep made me order Motobilt highlines lol. (I have the same color and 37s but on an LJ). One question tho, where the heck did you mount your horn? I can’t find a place to mount it and I don’t want to drill into the inner fender

    Did the rear gain any clearance? I did the poison Spyder high lines on mine but couldn’t find anything to raise the back without comp cutting it

    • @_everydayoffroad_
      @_everydayoffroad_  Год назад +1

      Rear stayed the same clearance wise. You either have to comp cut or you can trim the tub opening and move the flare up by about 2” to gain a little more.

  • @cerberus45
    @cerberus45 Год назад +1

    curious what you did for mounting the horn, windshield water resevoir, etc. on the driver side. Also, what are your plans for turn signals?

    • @_everydayoffroad_
      @_everydayoffroad_  Год назад +2

      Washer tank gone. Horn relocated to the left side inner fender similar to where it is on the stock fenders. I’m not running turn signals because my Jeep drives on the road maybe once a month.

    • @Motobilt_inc
      @Motobilt_inc Год назад +1

      You can easily add a 3/4” led into the fender or the inner fender itself

  • @chuckisbusy
    @chuckisbusy Год назад +1

    I hate you had to cut the hood. It does look clean. Does this give you more clearance than metalcloak tj fenders?

    • @_everydayoffroad_
      @_everydayoffroad_  Год назад

      Didn’t prefer to cut the hood myself. But where we needed clearance was actually the rear part of the front fender well. The only way to achieve this is a true high line fender which requires cutting the hood. The metalcloaks are likely better than the barricades I had for rear clearance, but probably wouldn’t get the job done.

    Hey bro looks awesome!! Question, did you powder coated the fenders? Or just painted it yourself ?
