At 7:10 the reason tcg players dont want consistency hits like ash or wanted to 1 is because snake eyes simply recovers the conistency hits by playing fiendsmith and azamina so it makes the consistentcy hits redundent thats why tcg players want actual hits like banning flamberge.
Flamberge is wayyy more “block dragon” than prom princess imo
As a Salamangreat main, seeing how good Weasel is JUST because it triggers Promethean Princess is insane
Yeah, unfortunately we rely too much of the synergy Princess has with Weasel and Raging Phoenix.
I don't want to think how low Salamangreat will fall if she eventualy gets banned.
Promethean imo is the 2nd offender imo and is a quick way to affect all fire decks at the same time but it'll probably only get replaced by more link "good stuff" type of cards, flamberge feels like the glue that makes it all work together because it allows so much extension for combos and link climbing, if anything it should just get either outright banned or errata'd to lock you into fire only for the rest of the turn after summoning it
The ost that is playing in the background is actually a new MD ost for rating match games when you reach Master rank 1. I believe it overrides the duel field osts, but I’m not complaining the new theme is absolutely insane
To be fair, the ocg also has hit ash and wanted to one. They then printed fiendsmith and azamina which gave snake eye back the consistency they lost from the earlier hits. And now it's dominating together with tenpai which can play 6 maxx c main.
If snake eye isn't touched till the fiendsmith cards are on md I expect it to go back to being the one of the best decks. Though yubel will obviously also benefit from fiendsmith
My only pushback on the Promethean ban is that Snake Eye as an engine is still a problem that has to be built around with every future release EVEN IF she gets banned.
The problem with a deck where almost every card is a 1-card starter is that now, any card the enables that deck will become a problem.
Genuinely, I cannot think of a single deck that is a problem with Promethean EXCEPT for Snake Eye. Yes other fire decks have their own lines but most don’t even come close to being meta without the Princess. This is basically the Sanctifier argument in reverse.
Other decks should not have to pay for the sins of Snake Eye when you could easily just ban a card like OSS and bring their ceiling down.
We have to keep in mind too that banning Promethean isn’t gonna stop Fiendsmith from coming out.
OSS is an interesting take however I have to disagree. In a vacuum yes SE can perform an insanely good one card combo with ash however that is if it’s undisputed. We’ve definitely moved into a much more handtrap heavy meta, which means more often than not SE ash doesn’t resolve, which means no Promethean. It’s also good to keep in mind that a very considerable and valid hit ban that would limit not just SE but most meta decks in general is Appo which is the best form of negation SE variants have
@@adanganaafan2811 I would agree with an Appo ban. Having their interactions reduced to destruction as opposed to easily made generic negates could be helpful in the long run.
I largely agree with Lex’s conclusion that in the current state of the game there really isn’t even THAT much reason to hit SE at all.
SEFK is the strongest variant and even though some people are annoyed that SE is still around, SEFK is a very interactive deck, but not powerful enough to make too many other decks unplayable. I’ve been running all kinds of things lately.

@@adanganaafan2811 I’m still missing two cards to run them pure, but I threw Kirin, Garunix and Circle into Shiranui as a way to play around Imperm and Veiler. Fun deck despite being inconsistent

At this point it’s Princess. Snake Eye can be stopped pretty consistently by negating Ash second effect. Princess has recursion, disruption on opponent’s turn, and is an extender by summoning a Fire monster from grave all in one card. I love Princess but it’s ridiculously powerful
I think diabellstar was a problem to begin with, but it would be easier/more likely to ban poplar since Konami has continued printing diabellstar cards
Limiting flamberge to 1. What makes this deck not pleasant to play against is because 1 card can lead to an end board with around 7 disruptions
Flamberge is literally played at 1 in both Fire King SE and Fiendsmith SE because it is the main brick of the deck, only played at 2 in pure for anti-Nibiru and follow-up, especially because Master Duel doesn't have Snake-Eye Diabellstar.
@@fr0sty_saiyan491 oh I thought they always play that card at 2. Also if that card gets banned then the whole snake eyes deck is almost useless. I think snake eyes ash is definitely getting banned
On top of not being properly fusion summoned, Colossus also MUST be fusion summoned, so he still couldn't have been brought from the spell trap zone even if it was made correctly
Prometiun princess is not a problem it's ip into apolousa both should be banned with flamberge

Honestly, with respect for course, I have to disagree with the promethean take. Although it’s true it’s absolutely should not be a generic card and should probably have some sort of lock effect beyond being on the field, but I don’t necessarily see it as an issue. Promethean isn’t what makes SEFK good, it’s not what makes SE Pure good, and it’s not what makes other fire decks good, it is its release IN TANDEM with good fire deck support.
You yourself admitted many top tier fire decks don’t use Promethean in its combos so why hit it if it won’t do too much. I feel as if the best way to nerf these decks is by simply hitting the main deck. For example in SEFK many have their eyes on Kirin. In RACE air lift to 1 is a substantial hit and maybe emergency. In almost every case where Promethean is a used card in meta decks there’s always another answer to limit/ban a card that would stymie the deck.

also apollousa should be banned as well, decks that spam multiple bodies like SE shouldn’t be able to get 4 negates outta it
